  1. yes i was surprised too with these stores. BUT we needed a all in one computer, you know without the tower and they had an incredible sale if you bought it outright, no payments and it was $290 US !! Normally $650US !!
  2. We need one too. Wanted Whirlpool...cheapest place so far is in Chapala. $6,199.00 at the store as you are driving toward Soriana look to the right. It is the store that has steps up to the doors. They sell motorcycles in the front, appliances in the back. But our dentist who is Mexican says Mabe is excellent, bought his at walmart and no problems. Has had it for 3 years.
  3. ok, thank you for telling me how to delete the posts. And yes the pet sitting days would be this month the 20th until the 24 and in Riberas.
  4. so sorry to everyone, I submitted this 4 times as it never said "submitted" so now i dont know how to delete the three. If anyone can tell me I would greatly appreciate it...
  5. Does anyone know a reliable person to pet sit in our home for 4 days? The person would have to be fairly strong as we have a very large German Shepherd. Also a little poodle mix street dog. No walking dogs involved as they would stay in compound. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  6. Claudia, are you available for house and pet sitting November 22 to 25
  7. We bought a sofa folds out to a bed...queen size and has arms...very nice..we ordered brown but they have many colors....$6000 pesos....we ordered....they brought from GDL.....it is in Riberas on the Lake side...it is a bazaar but the sofas are brand new.....if interested i will give you more details
  8. Weve been in the market for a washer and dryer...want whirlpool. No one can beat the store in Chapala....dont know the name but driving up the main street towards Soriana, pass the plaza on the right is a store with steps up to it. They sell motorcycles, furniture and in the back appliances. 15 or 17 kg washing machine for $6990. All other places they are close to $8000. We did purchase our fridge at Tio Sam, stopped working while still under warranty. They would not come out. Said there was nothing wrong with it over the phone without even looking at it. So we got a great repair man, cost us very little. The fan motor needed cleaning. Did it in just a few minutes. Tio did call us a few weeks later and asked how the fridge was,,,we said it did need repair but we took care of it. so.....we are hesitant to use them again....but maybe it was just a quirk.....i like to give people the benefit of the doubt.
  9. thank you for the correction that Perico is not in Ajijic. I didnt know how far Ajijic extended. So is Walmart considered Ajijic or San Antonio? Is Perico considered San Antonio?
  10. well, i think Hotel Perico is in Ajijic, maybe someone on here can correct that. It is straight up the road libriamento from walmart. You can look at their website. Tom and Jan who run it are just wonderful. It has a real sense of community, retirees, and others. On the weekends there are alot of families with kids from Guadalajara.
  11. so if golf carts have to have license plates but the office in Chapala doesnt issue them then where in the world do you get one????
  12. thank you RickS ....and Jrm oh my goodness that must have really really hurt, oh the things we do when we are young!! But wasnt it fun?!!
  13. Jrm wow, bless your heart, and your nose....wow Im sure that was painful. Yes our daughter took him to an ENT and just to look at the nose was $250US and surgery is $7500-$10,000US
  14. Sorry for the strange question. Our grandson in the U.S. broke his nose in two places. He is 9. We were thinking to bring him here for surgery since its much cheaper. Has anyone had this experience braking their nose? What doctor did you use and what was the approximate cost? Thank you in advance for any information

  16. we also got Seguro Popular and still have it but a friend lost her husband. The had IMSS and i saw all the problems, wait times and conditions so we purchased private from Andre Bellon GNP insurance came highly recommended. Suppose to be excellent in the finest hospitals. We are 63 and 60 with no health problems and pay $220 US a month. There is one deductble but only per illness for life. So, if we constantly have heart issues we only pay one deductable. Havent used it yet so hoping it is all it claims to be. Covers emergency while in the states, any doctor, doctor home visits, medical transfer, 2nd medical opinion free. In suite rooms....so...we will see
  17. We always took the bus from Guadalajara to chapala then a taxi to Ajijic. Ajijic is more expensive to live and crowded, than San Antonio and Riberas del pilar. We loved Hotel Perico, great for kids lots of space, cheap, pool, walking trail. If you dont have a car they will take you to walmart where you can get the bus.
  18. great thanks so much for your input. We went to telcel, several stores in fact and they said we cannot use our tmobile phone as tmobile wont allow us to put a telcel chip in it,,,,,dont know if this is true,,,,but it looks like we need to buy a telcel phone,,,,probably used.
  19. Well, weve had tmobile 6 years now....everytime we come down we have to call tmobile and connect to telcel satallite. It then goes off again periodically. Many times we try to make a call it says no service available, then we try again and it works. We cannot sent photos anymore, use to be able to....we do like tmobile but think we will switch to telcel since we are here fulltime now.
  20. Dont know if you need info about "debit" cards but we always use our U.S. debit card at Walmart, Soriana, some restaurants, hardware stores. Someone else may know about "credit cards"
  21. Medical and Dental equipment needed: If anyone has ideas about where we can get any Medical or dental equipment your input would be greatly appreciated. Poco a Poco has a project going on to help the community of San Pedro, as many of you know the Kidney renal failure there is grave. If you see medical or dental equipment at any of the bazaars or anywhere else we would greatly appreciate informing us. Or if you know of any Dentist or Doctor that would like to donate anything would be great. We are also looking for a portable dentist chair. Thank you so very much !! # 331 5012325 myriancolombia@hotmail.com, Facebook: Poco a Poco San Pedro www.pocoapocosanpedro.com
  22. weve had tmobile for 5 years and are here fulltime. It seems to be working better than it use to as we heard Tmobile is moving more into Mexico. They know we live in mexico and have not cut us off yet or even mentioned it. We are thinking of switching to Telcel though just because weve heard its great reception.
  23. ok, Puritan Poultry,,,,got it...thank you so very much !!!
