  1. MC's comment raised an interesting subject.....are prices generally higher in the Chapala to Joco corridor?

Assume there are 150,000 residents around the whole lake. Foreigners make up 10 to 15,000 of those, being generous. Less than 10% of the population.

I can see prices being higher for gringo-focused services and products like restaurant meals in Ajijic or specialty NOB food items, but what about everything else - clothing, transportation, groceries, fuel?

    Thoughts?

  2. We have what might be Luanne's sister. Got her as a rescue dog about 2 years ago at 5 months of age.The Australian Cattle dog is the tenth most intelligent breed and I believe it.

Our other dog, the Beagle, is the complete opposite. As I describe her....the lights are on but there's nobody home. Our Charlotte is a great partner to our Beagle. They play wrestle for exercise.

Charlotte gets your attention by rubbing your hand with her nose. She loves to play fetch until exhausted (her and I). Smart as a whip and learns tricks quickly.

I'm sure Luanne would make a wonderful companion.

iLox responded to my email, on this Easter Sunday, and activated my VOIP.

Try giving someone a call. See if the call drops after a minute or so as it does in my case.

I would love to port my Telmex number and give them the heave ho but its not worth it as a risk.

Minimum order for delivery is 2 boxes of 5 for $500 pesos each. I got 4 different kinds to try. 2 torpedos and 2 Churchills in shape.

They should be good for 100 pesos apiece.

  5. I tried an ilox VOIP call and again after a minute or so the call just dropped. The service is basically useless.

VOIP has been around for twenty years. Thousands of companies offer it as a product in North America. Can anyone suggest a reason why it seems to flummox ilox?

    TIA

about 4 years ago we went to Havana and on my bucket list was to smoke a fine Cuban Cigar and drink a Mojito in a bar that Hemingway frequented. .

Ah Havana. That was my downfall four years ago as well. After 30 years without cigars I fell victim to one of those incredibly beautiful hostesses in the lobby bar at the Iberostar hotel. They light the cigar expertly with a match and pass it to you to enjoy with your mohito or cuba libre.

Actually it has more to do with the number if citizens traveling internationally. No one cruises or travels more than nortenos. I am sure when it all settles down we will see the survival and infection rates.

Good point. I hadn't thought of travel as a possible key factor in infection rates.

  8. From reported figures America now has more C-19 cases than China https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6

On the surface doesn't that statistic say a lot about America's preparedness and management of C-19 given China has four times the population and not one of the best health care systems in the world.

It would be interesting to see comparisons based on percentage of infections/deaths to each countries population

I have been censused twice. Nice young people. They asked about bathrooms, bedrooms, children, etc. I answered 2 bathrooms but sometimes I use the garden is that bad? They asked how many children I have. I answered two girls but they were real ugly. Is that ok?

Have fun and I made them laugh.

That's terrific. What a sense of humor!
