  1. Yes, and when you call Dr. Barragan's office and ask about Dra. Gabriela, they will tell you that she is an oral surgeon. I am happy you had success with her, Sharon.
  2. Ironically, I had another appointment on Degollado in Chapala yesterday and stopped by DIF to kill some time. I asked the lady at the door about availability of INAPAM cards. She said they might be available maybe in August. But, I think that was a "guess." I am pretty sure she said they have not had them for a long time.
  3. To Rick S --- My friend with the horrible implant experience at Dental Express was within the past 6 weeks ! Current enough for you for a bad experience ??
  4. Try to see someone in Dr. Eloy Barragan's office. I have heard horrible things about Dental Express. Would not recommend them for anything more than a cleaning. Ten years ago when I first moved here, I went to Dental Express for a cleaning. The "dentist" said that I needed several fillings replaced I asked how long the new fillings would last and he responded 5 -8 yrs. I said that I have had mine for about 35 yrs ! End of story ! Also have a friend who made mistake of going there for a dental implant and her experience was a nightmare ! In this case, you get what you pay for !!
  5. I think it took about 2 -3 months to see the certificate when the second dose was completed, so might want to consider that as a possible timeframe for the booster as well.
  6. Yes the US will accept Sinovac, since Sinovac is on the WHO approved list. However, the other Chinese vaccine, Cansino is not on the list.
  7. If you are concerned about Omicron, none of the vaccines will prevent you from getting it. However, it will give you a lighter case of it.
  8. OK, to get back to the relevant topic ( sorry, but there are enough other threads to argue about Covid protocols and safe practices, etc.) ---What is the total cost of taking the toll road from picking up the Macrolibramiento off Lopez Mateos Sur to San Pancho? Thank you !
  9. Thanks NoVADamer for the good answer regarding US airlines flying back to Mexico ! Oregontochapala: -- I knew that Mexico is not requiring Covid test to enter. That was not my question.
  10. I have heard various stories, but cannot pin down what is the most accurate. Some weeks ago a friend said she did not need a Covid test to return here from the US on Volaris. Is there different policies if you are returning here on a US airline carrier? I am thinking they might be subjecting you to do a Covid test just to get onto a US airliner. I have found plenty of sources saying you do not need a Covid test to enter Mexico. Thanks for any clarification on the airliner requirements.
  11. Thanks sm1mex for the reply on the sirloin... Pork arrachera sounds interesting. I know that Alejandra mentioned that they have marinated beef arrachera for 299/ kg
  12. How is the sirloin from Sonora at Los Tres Butchery? Has anyone tried them?
  13. I believe that Dr. Gonzalez at Quality Care is a NERUOSURGEON and have heard he is very good. However, my experience with the previous Neurologist at Q.C. was a huge disappointment and was glad he went to Merida.
  14. BMH is correct. What good is it if WE know that the CURP information contains our birthdate BUT no other countries can access the information in your CURP via your QR code? WORTHLESS. Also, if you read the accurate accounts of what is going on with Omicron, vaccines and boosters do NOT prevent you from getting or SPREADING it. Countries would be smart to continue to require Covid PCR tests since the vaccination certificate ( even if it was usable) does not mean the person cannot get or spread Omciron. Complicates life, then Mex. govt complicates it further !
  15. IT is unfortunate that Mexico never seems to be able to comply with worldwide standards! That said, it appears that using a QR code only serves you if you are in Mexico. That would be equivalent to giving someone in another country your Social Security number, which is the closest thing that your CURP appears to be in Mexico. So, how would you expect another country to accept the equivalent of your Social Security number, when they could not obtain any information associated with your Social Security number ( or CURP #, same difference) ?? That is my takeaway from the information surrounding a CURP, which drives your QR code. It yields information ONLY for the government entities in Mexico that have access to your QR Code or CURP. If this interpretation is correct, then we are all in deep trouble in having wonderful travels to Europe. They might require you to get a Covid test each time you want to enter a restaurant -- at least as currently is the standard in France. What a nightmare !! Secondly, and separate from my comments above. I don't see a foreign government accepting an invoice of your vaccinations. I think the vaccine certificates issued by the Government of Mexico will be the driving document. IF the information on that document does not suffice the foreign government's requirement for a date of birth, then buena suerte !!
  16. How much does Los Tres butchery charge for the precooked BBQ ribs per kg? Thanks.
  17. Also can buy good local honey from Joaquin on southwestern corner of the centro Mercado building in Chapala. I thought he said it was made in north SAT.
  18. Try ElectroDomestico on Colon, first block north ( mountainside) in Ajijic or on Lopez Cotilla in Chapala.
  19. I have a Shaw HD/DSR 600 receiver for sale. I used it for about 1 1/2 yrs but moved to a rental home which includes Shaw service and equipment.
  20. True, Pete !! Forgot that some of you live with the techno rich in Seattle area and Silicon Valley. 😁
  21. To answer your question about where is La Reserva -- it is on the lakeside (next to Ancla Restaurant), it is west of Ajijic shortly before you come to the restaurant area before entering San Juan Cosala, heading west. The gasoline station referred to is on the mountain side of the carretera, before you come to La Reserva. Yes, we all should envy US gasoline prices.
  22. I take it that valid ID would be your Mxn Visa ? Probably original and copy. Be sure to bring your original and copies, where appropriate.
  23. Sorry about that. Just saw it confirmed on Govt of Chapala website that boosters are in fact ON for Christiana Park starting tomorrow through Friday. Could be a bit of confusion that they announced boosters for both Joco and Chapala on the same dates. THANK YOU !
  24. Could you send me the link for this announcement, since we are hearing that there will be additional days for boosters from the 4th -7th In Jocotepec, NOT IN Chapala? Would appreciate some clarification. I think this is erroneous information.
  25. Also, I think her office is closed this week, since I have been trying to reach her all week.
