What is wrong with email? This is a tried and true way to communicate and everyone, especially a business, should have an email address.
I made a similar comment about 10 years ago to my PhD computer scientist son who replied, "eMail is a dinosaur, Dad". You are probably old enough that this does not matter, but if you plan on staying on this planet for a while it will probably be much to your advantage to learn why younger people use texting apps now, and why email has become a method just for delivering large files.

Just went thru the checkpoint. It is now 50 meters from the green Joco-Chapala sign on the Chapala side of the border. They are only stopping traffic going towards Ajijic.

That is a generalization. That is a preference, it would seem, of opinions.
No, not really. I know you like to cook. Please do read about this in the reference cited. If you can not access it, CG, let me know and I will PM you the salient info. I am interested to know what you think.

This will start a war, I'm sure, but I'm willing to bet there is no one here who could even tell the difference in a blind test. Furthermore, boxed and dried pasta is much preferred over fresh for a variety of reasons. "Fresh" is a misconception and mostly a marketing ploy.
Hard pasta is used with olive oil based sauces, while soft pasta is used for butter/cream based sauces. One is not better than the other.

But if the electricity you are using to charge your electric vehicle is produced with fossil fuel, your electric vehicle in effect is running on fossil fuel.

If you should ever sell your car you will need this document for each year you paid the tax.
This is no longer true. Now they just look it up on the computer. If you are the buyer and they see an amount is due, you have to pay it before they proceed with the transaction. I just went thru this in Dec in Joco.

If you have an INAPAM card you can get a 50% discount. They allow I think 4 persons, maybe it's 2, per bus to use the card.

When will it open? (The Dec-Jan timeframe discussed on this board no longer seems possible.)

ETN arrives at the bus station in Nuevo Laredo. Walk out front of the building and you'll see the taxis. Ask to go to the bridge. (Be sure to ask first how much is the fare, else you will be taken for 2 rides :-) Fare 2 years ago was 50 pesos. Taxi will let you out right in front of the bridge. Join the line to walk across. You will need your passport. Really easy. I love walking that bridge. I do it pulling a suitcase. On the other end of the bridge there are taxis you can take to wherever.

And that diminishes it? Price is not a factor in the quality of a good meal.
You have the attitude of someone who judges another human by how much money they're worth and not who they are as a person.
Good food is good food, snobbery is snobbery.
We are talking about a haute cuisine French restaurant. I do not think you know what that is, what the cooking principles involved are, what the philosophies are. What you are saying about hamburgers or whatever makes no sense in this context. It's not at all about just coming up with popular tasty items and putting them on the menu!
I do not judge people by wealth, and I am by no means wealthy. I said nothing about judging anyone by money. That all came from your head. Ditto your comments about snobbery.
I did not make this post to argue with you or anyone else, just to inform. If I insulted anyone as you allege, then I truly apologize to them.

And yet, some of the top chefs in the world claim a good hamburger is one of their favourite meals.
Not all great cooks are pretentious, and they certainly know enough to enjoy the "more simple" foods.
A hamburger is not haute cuisine.

How much do you think it will cost for a hamburger "Royale" avec fromage et pomme frites?
Haha. If they imported a few real French waiters they'd probably toss you out on your ear for asking for such a thing there. The place in Chapalita was very upscale and expensive. We need more places Lakeside where people leave the shorts at home. The escargot I've had were worth every sou.

Where and when?
Have no more details. That was what we were told when we called for a reservation. Later on I sent an email and asked just that, where and when. Waiting for a response.

How does one really know when to change the parts. They are not cheap?
I would like to know, too. Ditto the UV light (which continues to shine even when it is no longer effective).

For those familiar with the fine French restaurant, Le Honneur, in Parque Juan Diego near Chapalita in Guadalajara, the bad news is the restaurant has closed. The good news is they are moving to Ajijic.

The new Board has a new policy for swimming: you must have a club ID card, particularly for the water aerobics classes.

I am looking for someone to take me to Gujad to renew my driver's license; some who has done this before.
Ana Martha Kabande has been doing this for a long time. She recently returned from vacation. It might be a good time to set something up with her.
Here's her email: anakabande@gmail.com

We tried to make an appointment on line without success before attempting this ordeal.
Ibarra, I just checked, the appointment site works fine as always. Click on a green square. It will turn yellow, then you choose a time below,
You must go here to make the appointment: https://citas.jalisco.gob.mx/movilidad/client/newAppointment?eiid=22&lid=4
If you speak Spanish (no facilitators allowed in with you), this is the least painful way to renew. I had an 11:30 appointment. It took me 39 minutes to walk out with my new license.

Texting/messaging apps are free, and telephone is built in, along with so, so much more. I was a long time businessman, too. These days potential business comes via the published messaging address. Check it out gringohombre. WhatsApp is widely used all over the world, that's a good one to study. But there are others, like Messenger (built into Facebook), Line (very popular in Asia), and lately Signal (which touts very high security). The horse was once a "tried and true" way to travel!
