  1. I have discussed this company previously with Tom Kessler and others. My interest was in getting fiber into Chula Vista Norte where I serve on the Board. In the end I asked for a series of questions, that would affect service, to be answered. As of now, I do not have those answers. I doubt that getting 300 homes in the Libramiento are (Chula Vista Norte for example) and down into San Antonio would be a problem. Quite simply getting answers would go a long way to getting the subscribers they want/need. I have previously been a technical partner in an ISP and worked as a technical consultant for a large US telecom (XO Communications, since purchased by Verizon). Here are the questions that I feel need answers: Does iLOX have any peering arrangements with large Internet providers? If yes, what bandwidth is the peering interconnect?Who are their upstream providers? Where do they connect to these providers. What is the connection bandwidth? What hardware is used (Infinera, Ciena, Juniper, Cisco, etc.) for these connections? What redundancy is provided for these connections (upstream and/or peering)?Does iLOX have customers that we could speak to directly (individuals and companies)? As an aside there are methods to extend GPON, among them DWDM equipment. Note: At one point or another all Internet services are shared. Interconnect bandwidth and transport in general are critical for service.
  2. It was more than a DNS outage. You could not get through with IP addresses (no domain lookup required) either.
  3. I am looking for a turntable with a USB port in order to convert a single album to digital files. I would be happy to pay a fee to rent the turntable, not really interested in buying to deal with one LP. Failing that I am looking for a sound studio that could do the conversion for me. Any help appreciated.
  4. Atlanta. We had no appointment, were in the office approx. 15 mins when they advised us to go have lunch. On returning one hour later everything was done and we were on our way.
  5. Credit Unions can provide credit cards, ATM cards and savings accounts, among other services. Once you are a member in the US, with a US address, you are a member for life no matter where you move or where you address is as long as you have an open savings account with a minimum deposit (typically about $5 US). This is in the basic law. Shop them and look for things like the ability to wire money internationally via phone call or web site. This has worked for me without fail for several years.
  6. I am looking for a good quality, new or used, recumbent exercise bike. Must be in good condition. If you have one for sale or know where I might get one please let me know.
  7. Go past the cutoff to the bypass straight into Jocotepec. Look for the signs directing you to turn left for Guadalajara. Turn left. Look for the signs directing you to turn right to Guadalajara. Turn right. Go straight ahead until you reach the highway, turn right. You will soon recognize you are on the same highway you normally use to Guadalajara. Reverse these directions on your return.
  8. Thanks for the advice. Looks like H20le is the one.
  9. Searching the forums here I have not been able to find any recent (less than a year or more) postings about companies/individuals that maintain water purification systems. I need someone to replace a UV lamp and service the system in general. The previous owners were kind enough to date the lamp install and a year is up. Anyone had good experience(s) with someone recently? Thanks
