We just returned from a tour around Bernal, to an old hacienda. In a completely open space that had once been a corral type structure with a stone floor....you can walk to the center, speak and hear your voice echo back to you. Completely open to the sky....strange sensation!

Might also want to do your due diligence on soil stability, water supply/quality...most of the normal day to day living expectations....from an old realtor.

We paid our ayudante of many years $40,000 MX when we moved...he was surprised and VERY grateful. It was the right thing to do. Also paid our cleaning lady...I thought she was going to cry....it was the right thing to do.

They did the "new analysis" by satellite in Mazatlan a few years ago and assessed us a huge increase in predial. I took copies of Google Earth plus actual photos to catastro and disputed their assessment.....turned out the satellite showed a large shadow from an adjoining building and they interpreted that shadow as a building. Be sure to check out their photos!

We knew some people in Mazatlan that did a billing thing to insurance companies for doctors and they were accused of billing at U.S. coded rates for reimbursement and keeping the difference..splitting with the Drs. Be VERY suspicious!

When I was still working and commuting between our home in Scottsdale to our home in Mazatlan, we did exactly what Rick recommended...it was perfect. When we first started driving, we did the trip in one loonnngg day..exhausting but we were younger back then! Jajajaja

Interesting Experience at Farmacia Mascaras
Willie replied to LaJeanie's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
I am a regular client of a store in Ajijic and the other day I didn't have the exact amount and the vendor didn't want to break a $500 note so said...you are a good customer, don't sorry about and he gave me a $20 discount! Very nice of him and I didn't ask for it but did thank him profusely....thx for sharing Liana. -
Now painting the outside of the new one across form Chula Vista...you can see inside some of the rooms as well.

I ordered this product when we had a horrible, huge infestation of ticks in Mazatlan years ago and had no problem getting a gallon of it shipped in. Not sure about now. I found some left over in our bodega,so it is at least 6 yrs old and it is still effective ! Yippeee!!! We are using it for mosquito control. I highly recommend it. https://www.cedarcide.com

INAPAM cards are quite easy to get in Mazatlan as well. Can a person get them outside of their domicile?

We purchased ours from a place in GDL on Minors Heroes and had them sealed before they shipped them to Mazatlan. After 12years they still look as good as the day installed. They were a shinier finish than what I would have liked but turned out great for us.

Puritan Pride supplements/vitamins
Willie replied to Irish Gal's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
My experience with Puritan's is that they use,DHL ... the merchandise is shipped to Holland, then to Mexico and is delivered to Mexipost for delivery via surface mail. A very convoluted way to get the goods here but seems to work....just takes some planning, especially around the holidays when everything gets bottled up. Once an order took almost 3 months to arrive. When I think it is about time for the order to show up, I start checking with the post office in Ajijic and they have always been so nice and helpful and surprise of surprises, they have on occasion even delivered it to the house! I always tip the delivery person. -

I have ordered from Puritan's for years...in Mazatlan as well as here. I was told in order to use my US credit card with a ship to address in Mexico, that I had to use the Spanish language website...worked just fine. I was told by Aduana in GDL that the packages must be under 2 kg...no mention of a dollar limit. YMMV -
Try looking at mazinfo.com. It is a Yahoo group. We have lived in MZT for about 18yrs.....and while the makeup of the foreign community has changed over the years, it is quite a wonderful place to live. Lots of ways to be entertained. Absolute paradise Nov-May.
