  1. Sorry to be so.long responding ...have just moved....very bz! No fasting required ....I had my results in 2 days. You might call the lab directly for more questions.
  2. I called a bit before 8 am...she said to come then. She was just finishing up for some other sort of test with a lady and I had to wait about 5 min. She had me go to a small area, totally separate from the main part of the lab, very sanitary, used a light spray over me, lots of gel, etc. Filled out a form and discussed options for receiving results and pricing..mostly conversed in Spanish.
  3. I went to El Lago Laboratorio Clinico in Chapala on Jaurez right behind the bus station this morning for the PCR test. She swabbed both nostrils and another of my throat. I could have had the result tomorrow but do not need it until Wed...$4000MX. It took about 15-20 min. Very clean and observant of sanitary protocols. She uses an INRE lab for the testing. I took the test as a pre requirement for travel.
  4. Yes, check to make sure the destination on the bag tag is your final destination...they should check it all the way through unless the don't have a baggage agreement with a connecting airline. Southest, for example has no baggage agreements with other airlines.
  5. Does the book Milagro Bean Field War by John Nichols come to mind?
  6. Can someone explain the reasoning behind not accepting blood from those over 65 if perfectly healthy? Can one pre-donate your own blood in advance of surgery? Are there age limits in the US or other countries?
  7. Desafinada...did the Laboratorio Clinico El Lago say how much their PCR st costs? TIA
  8. Wow Spencer!!! How nice of you!!!! Thanks...as always providing service to our community when you don't have to.
  9. I used to know a person in Mazatlan that got caught in the business of billing the insurance companies in the U.S. at U.S. codes prices for procedures performed at Mexican price , then the Dr. would take "care" of her for doing this. I do understand that there need to be coding for both worlds of pricing.....how to fix this? It turned into a true mess for all involved and was caught by the military medical system so you know messy it got! Just beware.
  10. I received a message from Tel Mex this evening saying that they will be doing maintenance in my area which is downtown Chapala however, they did not say for how long or at what time. Just a heads up....plus it's a full moon and I read somewhere but could not confirm, a solar flare...eeek!
  11. O.M. G....I ordered their special curry today...Eduardo said it would be about an hour...it was exactly an hour! Hot and sooo yummy....my tummy is very happy now.
  12. Yes, if you do as David says, the results are great!
  13. Thx all...Will stop by there tomorrow since I live in Chapala...ez.
  14. I am going to need to buy some dollars...any idea of best locale? Does one need to "order" in advance?
  15. Yes, my husband and I used it a number of times locally....sometimes with better results than others. But is you do as advised after the treatment the results really are good. YMMV
  16. Did I win some sort of lottery with the gazillions of them that I have had the last week? Just incredible and even with the door closed it still sounds like a distant buzz saw! It seems like this is the worst it has ever been. Tonight not many!
  17. I only need one month of insurance for my car....any idea who might issue and possible cost....my agency is recommending paying for 3 mos at a cost of $2,700+ MX and then transferring the policy to the buyer. But maybe the buyer won't want the same agency or coverage. Ps...I need to renew by the 29th of Sept.
  18. I am VERY familiar with the Hawaii requirements - to the point of a nervous breakdown- but they really don't know much at the state of county level for tourists coming from foreign countries! I'm just looking all over the Jalisco websites without much luck finding someone who is even familiar with this test, let alone a lab that can do it. Hoping to find a lab that is willing to order in the test, at my expense. Need it done within 30 days. Any and all ideas or help is certainly welcome!!!! TIA
  19. Yes, Hawai'i needs the NAAT and it does not seem to be the same as the RT-PCR test from what I can discern ....now trying to track down a lab that can do the PerkinElmer test. Sigh....
