  1. I don't know a trusted source. That's why I posted the question. The beef sourced from the US (to my knowledge) is full of growth hormones and anti-biodics unless it is labeled organic. The USDA is not to be trusted. This much I do know as they allow toxins to be added to our foods. If you have a recommendation for this area, that would be great. Now you mention beef contaminated with horse meat. I did not know about this. Are you referred to ground beef in this case? I am thinking maybe it would not be if it was a cut of meat.
  2. Does anyone know if the beef sold here contains the bovine growth hormones and if they are treated with antibiodics, etc., same as US? If so, where to buy beef that is not?
  3. Marlowe's still has things available, just at her new location.
  4. Depends on what you are looking for. I could be completely wrong geographically about this, but the Dildo shop has some edibles.
  5. Question about the Costco brand. Have you checked the label to see if it contains soy? If not, we will get some next time we go.
  6. That certainly could work if we agreed on location and cost.
  7. Someone mentioned to me that city water is either not available there or there is some well water which may run out. The name of the place translates to Hidden Water, so this made me nervous. I agree that finding a lot that size at a decent price is difficult. We have been looking as well. We did find some lots at a good price per square meter, but they were too large and the sellers would not subdivide.
  8. Getting a license in the US in any state is a legal transaction. I don't want to debate it, just define it. Here is the dictionary definition of scam. scam Also found in: Thesaurus, Legal, Financial, Acronyms, Idioms, Encyclopedia, Wikipedia. Related to scam: Snopes, SACM scam From the dictionary: (skăm) Informal n. A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle. tr.v. scammed, scam·ming, scams To defraud; swindle. [Origin unknown.]
  9. Really folks! This name calling and attaching a Newbie without knowing anything about this person is unkind. What a terrible impression it makes for a new person. It is hard for me to believe people would do this in person. If you don't like their post, just ignore it. It's fine to disagree with the content, but not attack the person. Just my opinion.
  10. So sorry for your bad experience. Some of us really are nice people. I have had similar experiences.
  11. I do agree that the name calling stinks. Okay, so I understand about not wanting to post a copy written article.
  12. Sorry, but I don't know about a previous article you posted. What other hospital? I agree no one should be attacked.
  13. Newcomers are welcome. It is a matter of wording on their part. I apologize on their behalf for the terse reply. Some on this board are not very diplomatic. I have had this experience as well from time to time. The issue seems to be that the article is not accessible without paying and some are aggravated because they suspect some other motive. I don't assume that. On my end, I am just letting you know that it cannot be read without having to pay for a subscription. Most of us are familiar with the publication and we certainly are interested in the article, however, don't want to have to subscribe just to read that particular one.
  14. I don't understand the comment "for you there are no benefits for you at all". I clicked on the link and the article does not appear. I see that you must pay to subscribe to read it and from others' comments, they have the same experience. Perhaps Michael 1595 would like to cut and past the article so all can read it.
  15. We drove because of our two cats. I do understand that making the drive is really unappealing. I don't know of a board specific to that topic. Certain, you can ask on this board. Other options are: Get to the Mexican border via bus or get someone in the US to take you to the border. A driver can just meet you and drive you from the Mexican border. You would cross on your own with the felines and meet the driver on the other side. There are also some drivers that will cross into the US to meet you.
  16. Well, it looks like you cannot read any of that as you have to pay for a membership, so I don't really see the benefit of posting this link unless it is to sell subscriptions.
  17. Since good bagels seem to be really hard to get, I may just bake some. I have done it before. It is a bit of work, but I make bread anyway (bread machine totally unnecessary).
  18. Well. Here's an idea. Next time that person calls with the emergency preparedness list, send them to this forum and have them post the information for all to read. If the goal is to inform, that should help.
  19. How much do you pay her per hour?
  20. Maybe someone who goes occasionally could still bring some. They can be frozen and thawed. Granted, there is nothing like fresh, but frozen and warmed up can turn out pretty good as a second option when you don't have a nearby source.
  21. The bagels at Costo are not bagels. They are a bread dough in the shape of a bagel. The ones at the Bagel Place were actually bagels and better. Before they moved, I thought they were pretty good. The last time I went to their new location in the mall, I got practically frozen bagels from them. If you have never had an authentic bagel, then you wouldn't really know what a bagel is supposed to be. As someone stated earlier, it must be boiled for it to taste right.
  22. This is our first time attempting to receive a package through Estafeta. We received one notice that they tried and we were out. Where can we go pick up the package?. The note has no instructions and our Spanish isn't sufficient to navigate their website as of yet.
