  1. I am posting this for a friend. She has taken on the task of helping a horse who was neglected and abused. She has really limited funds, so this is a financial strain for her. The horse is In Riberas. She is looking for a longer term solution, either a different place (inexpensive) for her to live with a place for the horse right nearby or a new permanent home for the horse. If you can help in any way, please e-mail me or if you have some suggestions, that would be good as well. The owner has already been reported for the abuse.
  2. Yes Ferret. You and I agree. Joco. I said nothing about an attorney's authority to override a Notary. He/She would be an independent reviewer there for OUR benefit, just as you would get a second opinion from any professional.
  3. I already acknowledged that fact in my initial post. Attorneys are not prohibited from auditing what is being done.
  4. I do realize the Notario is needed for the closing. We are not attempting one without a Notario, but we want an attorney as an independent reviewer.
  5. Some of the reasons you mention are why we want an attorney. Thank you for your comments.
  6. I'd appreciate some attorney referrals to go over some real estate contracts and verify closing documents. I do understand the Notarios do this. I want an attorney to verify the Notario's work. I already know about Spender, so if anyone has other referrals, I'd appreciate it.
  7. I'd appreciate any referrals for Security bars and Security Glass installers.
  8. That is whom we use as well. Good job and reasonable fees.
  9. Rental cars can be obtained from Mark Turford locally as well. It's not cheap, but certainly makes everything easier when you need to get and around and really see what's here. To my knowledge rental cars from the US could be driven cross the border. This would be something to check out in more detail to verify.
  10. It is possible to work on line. I have two friends who do so. Perhaps check out the internet reliability in a location you are considering for housing.
  11. Is it really necessary to criticize someone who is asking for information?? I think not. I prefer to help that person if I can. It does me no harm and is a kindness.
  12. To be sure--have you used it for on line purchases?
  13. Does it work for internet purchases? I've been thinking about your suggestion Solajijic and I remembered that when we first got here, this is what we looked for, and were unable to find any. In the USA, we just go to any retail store to buy those. Where would we get those here?
  14. Thanks. We have a Multiva debit card and it does not work for on line purchases. We consider it to be a major bank. This is why I am asking for specifics.
  15. Can anyone suggest a Mexican Debit card that works for on line purchases?
  16. If anyone has an Intercam debit card, I'd like to know if it actually works for on line purchases?
  17. Didn't know about that one. Where is Manix?
  18. Does anyone know of any large resale shops in Guadalajara? We are looking for furniture. We are already familiar with most of the ones in our local area. We also are already on Wayne & Julie's mailing list. Also, if anyone has any simple lines contemporary type furniture for sale, please pm me. We need living room, dining room furniture, patio furniture and an office chair.
  19. To maintain the situation and prevention wise, I recommend you brush the cat regularly. We have a Furminator but there are other brands. If you watch the video, you will see how well it works in getting rid of excess fur. The other thing to do is add oil (such as olive) to the pet's diet to help him/her pass those hair balls. Hopefully, you are not just feeding dry food which is not a healthy feline diet.
  20. It is great to read consistently good reviews on this doctor.
  21. Yes. I am familiar with the licensing requirements and what is needed to be able to write these. We have been dealing with this situation for a very long time and there is no hope for another solution.
  22. Yes. I do realize that. However, this was a long term patient doctor relationship and he has all the medical records to back up the need for meds. He even agrees the legal amount is not sufficient for the issues and level of pain. I think that he has become extremely busy and has taken my spouse totally for granted as an easy office call each month. For him to say to us that he has patients to see is out of line because my spouse is a patient , is he not? We had paid for the visit. These types of prescriptions have to be written exactly as to the number of pills AND the exact brand name. In this case, that brand name (which we normally get) the pharmacy was out of it, so it had to be re-written in order to get another brand. Those are the rules in Mexico, so we were stuck and had to ask for a re-write. We even checked with other pharmacies first. He got angry that he had to redo this and we I suggested perhaps he call ahead to save everyone's time, he said he would not do it, and NOT in a nice way.
