  1. Looking for white Nasturtiums. Have been to a couple of nurseries and haven't found any so far. If anyone knows who may have some, please let me OR if you have an abundance of them and need them thinned out, we can come by and get them.
  2. Just started to do some landscaping. I'd appreciate some suggestions on what will grow in partial sun/shade. Edible plants preferred and where to purchase them.
  3. Thank you for posting this. It's something everyone should do. There will always be those who want to stick their heads in the sand about this type of thing. Those who criticize...well, ignore them.
  4. The original poster may still not be participating, however, the responses may be helpful to someone else. We actually had the same problem with one of our pets. Also, we took her to the vet. Couple of options: food allergy. Stop feeding table food if doing so. Also, possible flea allergy. There is a tablet you can give for these types of allergies. We purchased it at Pet Avenue and it has helped. I believed it is given every few months. You can do this as well as the topical suggestions. For relief, I think the vinegar rinse is a good option. It may sting a bit when applied if there is any skin abrasion, however, it will go away. Also, if you are growing any Rosemary, can make a tea with it, then rinse pet with it. It does not have to be used while hot. Use at a comfortable temperature. The idea is to provide some relief from the misery of constant itching.
  5. Just to clarify about my original question which was how to obtain a passport for a Mexican citizen. The person is not naturalized. They were born in Mexico and are Mexican, so some of those items about language, etc., don't really apply. Thank you all who replied.
  6. I would like to help a young pregnant girl. She is 18 and four months pregnant. She has no maternity clothes. If anyone has anything that could help, please message me. She looks like a size 4.
  7. Glad to know that they don't all operate the same way. When my spouse needed blood, we had three donors be rejected for some of the reasons mentioned above. I would donate if I could, but I am underweight and am slightly anemic.
  8. Also, they don't accept anyone taking prescription medications or if you have had sex with more than one partner in a year........and you have to be the right blood type they need.
  9. Thanks a bunch! I just looked .after reading your message, on the SRE site and it does have the needed information.
  10. Where does one go to apply for a Mexican passport?
  11. Chapala Haciendas is using the water supply as leverage. They drastically reduce the amount of water supplied to the non-payers. It is my understanding, there is not the option of placing a lien on the property as in the US. There is process of foreclosure here even for taxes. The government does not do this and, frankly, I think it's a good thing although really unfair to those of us who do pay the dues. They do need to pay up at the time of sale.
  12. How long to drive there?
  13. Anything other activities there?
  14. I will do that. Thank you for the resource.
  15. We are interested in a short term vacation, about 3 -4 days, preferably not in the heat. Any suggestions on where to visit within Mexico that would be fairly inexpensive?
  16. Anybody have the number for the cab service at the airport or how to get it? I need to know if there are any cabs that have vans if someone has a larger amount of luggage.
  17. Anybody know where a couple can take dance lessons in group setting?
  18. Here's a brief update on the situation. I am correct about the amount of the tax. The Notario actually has an attorney do all the work, and there is a title search and some other things that need doing for the transfer and that s how the Notario fees are so high. Evidently, it's just not as simple as I would like it to be. A Mexican will is definitely needed. Also, you cannot just place a beneficiary of your choice on your property deed. Here is must be a relative. So in effect the will does not complete the task, but allows you to leave the property to a non relative. Even so, it appears some type of probate will still be needed. This is why there are properties here with so many heirs over many years and the deed remains in the original person's name as the cost of doing all this is so ridiculous. Many simply cannot afford it.
  19. From what I understand that is not correct. It would make total sense that it should be the way you are thinking as this was my thinking as well. But, of course, the government has to make is complex in order to get more fees. Someone I know was trying to purchase a property where this situation existed and before the sale could be completed, the property had to be transferred in the name of the remaining owner and it slowed everything down for two months or more.
  20. I think you are right about that. It seems that a beneficiary clause doesn't really do anything to help get the property in my name without fees and more tax. I will post how I worked it out once it is done.
  21. Wedding Band now handled. Still need all the other services. Would like a wedding planner. I may have to post that request as a separate topic.
  22. Interesting and thank you for responding. So then, either Notarios are misinformed or lying. Either way incorrect information. My plan was to make a Mexican will to handle the few items I own here in Mexico (home, vehicle, bank account) I don't want my heir to have a mess to clean up as heirs will have a harder time handling this than I will.
  23. Yes! Also, need to find Mexican wedding shirt.
