  1. Check out Cuyutlan. If you like it google Cuyutlan Properties for contact information. Talk to Mac. You might get something within a block or two of the beach for that budget.
  2. I have used, in the past, Texas Auto Direct, to buy and sell vehicles. www.texasdirectauto.com As I recall they are very close to the airport and a short cab ride. Predicated upon them not having moved of course.
  3. Seems to me if you are allergic to dogs take an allergy shot. If my dog is elegible to be on a plane or a restaurant terrace so be it. Mine is a therapy dog regularly visiting hospitals and old folks. If you`re allergic to flowers whatcha going to do - get rid of all the trees and flowers
  4. There are several "curbers" selling used cars. They find a nice looking used car from across the country and sell it usually without guarantee and without mechanical inspection. Ergo, you would need the car inspected by a mechanic you know and trust. They often have out of state plates so you need to know if they will be the ones obtaining same for you. That plating process is done in Guadalajara, most get there by 5 am and spend the better part of the day. In my opinion used cars in Mexico do not have a history of service maintenance and are driven hard and put away wet. And if anyone suggests the tianguis in Guadalajara, well let's just say that in the opinion of most - not advisable. I like visiting S/S Auto to see what they may have as often they will have something driven by an americano with a complete service record. Possibly a good car still under warranty comes available. Like anything else it depends on what you want to spend which is inversely proportional to quality.
  5. I have used the services of barcelonaman and can highly recommend his time and advice. Anyone who thinks this service doesn't work is simply uninformed. I get great tv thanks to him and appreciate his efforts to assist.
  6. It depends on your residence status but if you are a tourist and If touring BC 6 months. If not touring 30 days. Just google British Columbia Highway Traffic Act.
  7. Well bottom line is you want someone else to make a screen door. And I am happy to agree with Cedros and las salvias alumino. Of course where you live will be relative but if in the west end these guys are good.
  8. Can`t be the best in the country since we don`t have any in Mexico. They tried twice I believe to make a go of it in Mexico but failed.
  9. Wow, you have a very cynical friend. The equipment is connected to the main government office in Guadalajara that deals with emissions, no connection no sticker. I paid 350 pesos in Guadalajara last week. You`ll here lots of crap about bribes and `this is Mexico` from negative people who claim to be realists.
  10. The Palliser Brand made in Canada is available at the furniture store immediately east of Sunrise Cafe in San Antonio Tlay. Lesser quality but made in Mexico are found at the furniture store on the n/e corner of Rio Bravo and the Carretera. Sometimes the Classifieds on this board yields results.
  11. Semantics - getting your INE card is registering to vote.
  12. Cuyutlan area is said to have the best surf in Mexico, check this out...... http://wavecation.com/surf-house-cuyutlan-colima
  13. I for one would appreciate a person taking the time to suggest they had less than a pleasant experience or a cautionary advisement. I am neither judge nor jury and frankly don`t need nor care nor want to hear the details. Just my pesos worth.
  14. S/S Auto -- google for contact info.
  15. And still the question of infrastructure to support this increase remains.
  16. Gringal I had good luck at the one alongside the phone company past black coffee. Why I liked them was the workers seemed a little better managed and quality of work was better with less jocularity.
  17. It all depends on the quality/cost of your requirements. The normal aluminum sets can be found at Quick Blinds. As you probably know that`s located just west of Superlake and before Fenix Realty on the Carretera. For high end cantera and glass combos try north side of the Carretera by the entrance to Tobolandia. Saw a gorgeous cantera base with a glass top for around 30,000 pesos but no chairs at the bazar in the little strip mall between Rio Bravo and the French pastry place, again on the Carretera.
  18. I did see some in San Juan Cosalá in front of the store on the east side of the first lights as you come into town from the east.
  19. No, but I do have a problem with a nation offering social benefits to foreigners.
  20. I love my ATT service and use it here and in the US. Renewing my contract yearly has proven formidable because it seems the ATT left hand doesn`t know what the right hand is doing. Have two phones, one got to keep the previous number the other never did follow through with it despite numerous visits to the office in Ajijic. There was a chap running the Chapala store who was on the ball and I never had a problem. He is no longer there and the current staff can`t seem to resolve the problem. Have not been able to find a troubleshooter with ATT Mexico and ATT USA doesn`t seem to care. Bottom line, they don`t renew your contract but rather start all over as if you`re fresh of the boat and inevitably screw it up. So I would comment Customer Service sucks while reception service has proven better than Telcel for me.
  21. why do you say they are not no see-ums or bed bugs or sand fleas.
  22. Here's the deal - if I have my dog lying quietly on the ground and outside the restaurant disturbing no one and you don't like it - move me
  23. WALMART has always had them, at least in the past.
  24. I'd pose your question to the folks at Tio Sam's. They can tell you how many they've sold locally and maybe put you in touch with the buyers so you can glean their opinions. I think induction is the future.
