The Recycling Center is indebted to Hector Espana and his Manix crew again! Yesterday they brought us a half dozen mature plants for our Beautification phase.

We still need paint, please?

Best option for all the local berry sellers.

We are now moving to a beautification facility stage. Looking for plants, bushes, trees, and paint. 

We need to increase production and become more proficient in processing to become financially independent and begin to give back to the community. An AC can NOT make a profit.

Next we need to educate children in the schools and fraciamientos (SP) ' A brochure and video are forthcoming. We hope to hold seminars for organizations as part of our mission mandate.

We also have the mission to spread recycling to other north shore communities and to start composting.

I hope this helps and encourages more to recycle. Please sort into glass, plastic (no berry boxes or clamshell containers)tetraspacks RINSED, cans rinsed, paper/cardboard

Patrons are begining to separate. We still need a handiman.

The book store is clean and getting organized.

The Recycling Center now needs someone to vacuum clean the bookstore? We have the machine. It can be any day 9-2 Mon - Sat.

we are working so hard daily to keep the front of the recycling center tidy. We need the help of a handiman who can put up book shelves, light plumbing, etc. ANYONE willing to help????

We are in the process of creating security for the recycling center. We have 2 camera, but, need a computer to install wifi. Thanks to anyone who could help!

How can you get clear title when some of it is allegedly built on federal property?

The volunteers at the Recycling Center would love?

Things are proceeding well. We have started a relationship with a direct recycler in Guadalajara. We have made great strides cleaning up the place. The chairs, library stools, fans, hoses and trash can provided by donors have improved our efficiency and made working so hard less taxing and cleaner for our volunteers.

We now have our sorting dumpsters deployed for the public to self sort: cans (rinsed), aluminum(crushed if possible), plastic (rinsed #s1,2,5 ONLY please), tetrapaks (rinsed/flattened/cap on), magazines/ newspapers, and miscellaneous paper.

We still need donations i.e. two tractor trailer loads of cardboard, one of our most valuable recyclables,  will not pay our one employee for a month.  

We still need large trash cans, barrels, a wheel barrow, a mini frig, a small ATV, a cart, ...

We are still looking for a decent truck and will need donations for that which would be in the name of the nonprofit AC.

Please we are unable to handle general garbage, yard waste and berry containers. These take up a lot of time and take us away from our intended purpose. We don't have the storage space for them either.

Again thanks to all who are recycling, those who sort their recycling and especially our donors!

Please rinse your recycling. A good rule of thumb is if you wouldn't want to handle it again, our volunteers and the recyclers won't either.

If possible, crush aluminum cans.

If possible separate glass into clear, brown / blue, and green

With tetrapaks (liquid cartons) pull up top and bottom ears, rinse, crush and put cap on.

Plastice please crush and put caps on, if you can.

We take cardboard and papers, but not stained pizza boxes. If the pizza box top is clean, we can recycle it.

I've been selected to represent La Huerta west by the Ajijic Pueblo Magico Committee.

Also I have received a few donations that will make the Recycling center more comfortable and efficient for our volunteers.

I am VP of the nonprofit operating the recycling center in west Ajijic. Our goals are to improve the ecology of our home, teach children and adults about conservation/recycling and to bring our training to other villages. We intend to become financially self sufficient. Beyond financial donations, we need: 2 box fans, any kind of transport dolly, wheel barrows, stools, chairs, shop vac, large trash cans, toilet seats (3), tools, lockable cabinets, lockable cabinets and hoses. If you are cleaning out we would appreciate any / all these items. Tax receipts are available for US and Canada

I would be happy to set up a no host breakfast Saturday at 9:30 at the lovely new restaurant Barra Perussi and follow that with a tour of the recycling center.
