  1. You can repeat the words "herd immunity" as much as you like, but there has been no scientific proof thus far, that I have read, that indicates that there is any herd immunity to this virus. By a small percentage of the population.
  2. I have a Rotoplas tank- it looks basially like a tinako, except it has the intake and out-take 4"holes and a filter, which is just a plastic built-in basket with a bunch of scrap plastic pieces in it just in front of the out-take hole. The liquid then flows into a leach field-concrete blocks with small spaces between them, a meter and a half in length, width, and depth. I have never had a problem with it, never had to get it pumped out since the place was built 12 years ago. I live alone, but often have o'nite guests, and it has handled all that. Have never had to do any maintenance whatsover. I flush the poopy paper, don't fuss about buying tp designed for septics, but all else goes in the wastebasket. I even use bleach and muriatic acid in the toilet occasionally, to remove hard water build-up, with no ill effects.
  3. Whenever I used to hear anyone claim that marijuana was a "gateway" drug to hard drug use (based on studies that show that hard drug users used to smoke mrijuana), I would say that following that line of reasoning, milk is a gateway drink to alchohol, because all alchoholics started out their lives drinking milk.
  4. As you and Rafter can now see, the OP has now made it clear that my understanding of what he was trying to explain was correct. So yes, your quote here is correct, 2 of you didn't understand and I did. But of course there will be no apology coming from arrogant babies who think they are so much smarter than anyone else.
  5. Never mind. You still don't understand. Maybe the OP will be able to explain to you that what you think he meant is not what he was trying to explain.
  6. The OP said that in his first post. It would go into a leach field. Sure a lot of people on this forum who don't actually read what they respond to.
  7. The poster never suggested that people take supplements rather than seek medical advice. You made that part up. And taking antioxidants, vitamins, and other safe supplements certainly aren't going to hurt anyone. Is there something wrong with doing things to improve one's general health? Do I need to consult a doctor to figure out that a home-cooked meal with a fresh salad and lots of veggies is better for my health than a Big Mac and fries?
  8. I knew there was a good reason I haven't quit smoking.
  9. I think they simply don't bother to actually read and comprehend.
  10. Holy smokes! Try reading, or comprehending what you read. The OP was clearly asking about a tank that filters and breaks down the solids before going into the leach field. You even posted a photo of one. Rafter then ignored that completely and was talking about a leach field, instead, which indeed is polluting without a preliminary filtering tank. I called that out as not being what the OP was asking, yet for some reason you jumped down my throat. Never once did I suggest that one should just drain their waste straight into a leach field- I gave no advice, so I can't imagine what you think the OP should ignore about my post. Like I said, you have a reading comprehension problem.
  11. Exactly. Canadian vehicle registration and insurance have nothing whatsoever to do with a vehicle that has out-of-country plates.
  12. The OP was talking about a pre-digester tank (nothing leaking into the soil). He then talked about that flowing into the leach field. Rafter then started talking about a leach field, which is not what the OP was asking about. My reading comprehension is fine, it appears yours is not. I don't need Google to teach me the difference between a pre-digester tank and a leach field, I'm well aware of the difference and how septic systems work.
  13. He is talking about a pre-digester tank, not the leach tank.
  14. I don't need to review my posts. I'm well aware of what I write. However, I have no control of what "impressions" you come up with. There's no need to infer anything than what is written. I said these guys' agenda is suspect. And now they are apparently the new darlings of Fox News.
  15. My private health care insurer isn't putting out videos advocating for the young and healthy to go about their lives as normal during a pandemic.
  16. That Worldometer site must be lagging, sorry- it shows no new cases or deaths for the US, and many other countries, at the moment. Which of course can't be right.
  17. Meanwhile, Mexico just topped the world in new coronavirus cases and deaths today, by quite a lot. But Obrador assures us that it's totally under control.
  18. I can pretty much assure you the eggs the OP was paying 78 cents a dozen for, before they went up in price, weren't fresh farm eggs- they were factory farm eggs with pale yolks, full of antibiotics from chickens that sit in cages they can barely move in.
  19. And that may have been an accurate prediction had state governors and others around the world not brought in isolation and lockdown orders.
  20. I would imagine there are undercounts on all contagious diseases. The majority of people who get influenza don't run off to the doctor to get tested. They either feel lousy enough to call in sick and stay in bed for a day or two, or they don't feel all that bad, pop a tylenol and some other medication to lessen the symptoms, and carry on. I had chicken pox and measles as a child, as did most of us. So did my 3 daughters. I don't recall my parents taking me to the doctor, and I didn't take my girls- all parents knew what chicken pox and measles looked like and there wasn't anything a doctor could do for it- you just had to ride it out.
  21. That isn't the point! It's immaterial. Let me put it really, really, simply for you, using what happened between my 15 year old granddaughter and my daughter in Toronto. Before there were official isolating orders, my daughter , her husband and 18 year old granddaghter were already isolating. My daughter had a bad bout of pneumonia several years ago, so her lungs are compromised, and my son-in-law has some medical issues, too. The 15 year old was still sneaking out to hang with her friends, who were also sneaking out. My daughter sat her down and said "Look, if you get this virus, you probably won't get very sick, you might not even have any noticeable symtoms. But your father and I could die if you brought this virus into our home."
  22. These guys don't run a "Convenient Care" facility. Watch the video again. They run an "Urgent Care Center" and they said that their video is based upon what they have observed with their patients. The points made are suspect when I follow the money. And even then, I did address the points they made- they said it's no worse than the flu, when coronavirus has about 10x the daeth rate. They insinuated that nt going out for a few months was going to weaken your immune system, which is absurd. If you have a strong immune system, it's not going to disappear in a couple of months.
  23. These doctors in the video are private co-owners of 5 urgent care clinics. In other words, they are not only doctors, they are private businessmen. Rich ones, no doubt. More people coming in sick sounds like more profits for them. They aren't in the public health sector. It would be pertinent to know what their politics and agenda are. And self-isolating for a few months isn't going to weaken anyone's immune system- the statement that not going out and exposing oneself to posible coronavirus infection is going to make your immune system weaker is ludicrous. And saying it's no worse than the flu is simply a lie. These guys have an agenda, and it's not about putting out important information for the public good.
