  1. For those of us who have never heard of this place, Nissa’s is located where?
  2. ... or not thinking enough. Mexican people are people. There are sincere, honest, and hard-working PEOPLE in all countries and cultures. There are also PEOPLE everywhere who are out to rip off the unsuspecting, especially those from other countries. Both kinds are real people, real parts of the countries in which they live.
  3. Can we please talk about the food and stop with the bickering complaints about the name. Call it whatever you want but give the people starting up a business at this point in time a break. Please.
  4. It is not just autocorrect. There is also “predictive spelling.” You hit two or three letters and the program fills in the word you are most likely (from past writing) to be using. Type fast, don’t be paying attention, don’t proofread before hitting send or post and driving a motorcycle becomes drinking a motorcycle. Add those to typos and you have lots of “mistakes.”
  5. I think they cover bodies with whatever someone has with them. When I came across a motorcycle crash scene on the liberamento the body of the rider was covered with blue plastic. The wadded up metal that had been his bike was laying in front of the jackknifed trailer truck that had obviously tried to stop.
  6. When you said, “It is not commercially viable yet” I assumed the corned beef was not available for purchase at this point. Is it?
  7. You are operating your business as you choose. So, is every other business person. They are operating as they choose, not as you choose. And, that seems to be the problem for you. Sounds to me as though businesses are offering a choice of ways to contact them just not the way(s) you prefer.
  8. Nope. Just jump right back in like you just did, but talk about the bakery. Easy.
  9. “Being subject to ridicule hasn't budged me yet. I just don't giveadamn.” I have no problem with people choosing not to be on Facebook or any other form of social media — including web boards. What I do have a problem with is the incessant whining from a few about why people who have chosen to use social media should also maintain other ways to communicate with the special few who believe that the way they use the internet protects their privacy. The privacy ship sailed a very long time ago.
  10. Spectacular! Congratulations on a job well done.
  11. I am lazy like you. It is worth 500 pesos to me not to go through what Berkeleyboy did. I’m too old and cranky for that nonsense.
  12. Because if you allow customers in this week it is more dangerous than next week or the week after? They are opening by reservation only to ensure social distancing, likely in an attempt to keep the business alive and employees employed. It will be a long while before I am comfortable eating out in a restaurant. However, when I do start it will be to places like this that do care about making the experience safe and comfortable. I do not have the emotional bandwidth to get angry at people trying to preserve their and their employees’ livelihoods.
  13. Really? He brings someone in from another state and then doesn’t insist she remain in quarantine for two weeks to be sure she is not infecting other people?
  14. “Many” people die every day from alcohol poisoning? Are you speaking of Lakeside, Jalisco, Mexico, the U.S., Canada, or world wide?
  15. Hope the lady will remain in quarantine for two weeks before venturing out and about.
  16. You typed the wrong letters. Obviously your answer to my question is “no.” I get it and it’s okay.
  17. Who were you talking to when you quoted my post and in your response to me said, “If you want to pay more it is your option“? Do you understand how I might think you were talking to me since you were, well, talking to me at the time? If you were not addressing me in the last sentence you would have said, “If people want to pay more it is their option.”
  18. Perhaps. I tend to “hear” whining in a lot of your posts that you don’t “hear.” Who is to say which of us is imagining? But what about you giving a heads up to another poster about rules while violating one yourself? No response to that?
  19. Well, it is my opinion that we’d all be better off if we stopped judging how other people spend their money. But, point taken. I will remove the offending sentence. Thank you.
  20. Please point out the “personal attack” or “insult.” I honestly see neither. I expressed my opinion about your opinion. I explained the basis of my opinion. I did not disagree with you about some businesses charging more because of the larger foreign population. I did not say it was right or fair or good. I do not need an “extensive Mexican family” to know who “overcharges.” Most of all, I did not say where I shop or which vet I go to. You have no idea what I pay for goods and services. Why jump to the conclusion that because I understand why people pay more that I am one of them?
  21. It seems to me that the people who frequent “overpriced” businesses are the people who can A. afford to and B. believe the higher cost is worth it to them. Those who can not afford the higher prices or do not believe the added cost is worth it have plenty of other options. People know they vote with their wallets and that they can choose the lower cost options. They are choosing not to. <edited to remove last three words which were unnecessary.>
  22. What? Where is the fun in always acting like a grownup?
  23. A heads up for you GH. If you are a stickler for rules it should be for all rules not just the ones that are annoying you at the moment. According to the rules, if you have a question about moderation you are supposed to send a PM to a moderator, not ask the board in general and then whine when you do not like the answer.
