  1. Polo can maintain those aids for which he has software. When I first started using him he did not have the right software for the aids I had bought in the states at Costco. Before going to Polo I went to the Costco near the Galleria Mall a half dozen times. First I tried on my own then Costco sent a staff person who spoke English, then I brought my own interpreter - nothing worked. As someone above said hearing aids need to be tweaked occasionally so local is a lot easier. I have a pretty severe hearing loss and have been wearing aids for about thirty years. I have bought 2 pair for myself and one set for my husband and am totally pleased with Polo.
  2. My understanding is that the last state in which you lived is where you vote and where your estate is probated.
  3. I adopted a dog from the Ranch who had lived there for eleven years. Boy was I surprised that he never messed in the house. So you never I ow. Senior dogs are the best especially for senior people.
  4. I have had tremendous success at Comey in a Ajijic. Not sure how it is now as the young man who worked there and was a genius has left luckily soon after my project was complete.
  5. It is on Ocampo between Privado Ocampo and Pedro Moreno. P. Ocampo is where the old Hacienda del Lago was.
  6. Here is a copy of the Facebook post. MIKE AND SADIE Hello people! We are 2 5ish year old pug siblings who are sad because our human parents got very sick and had to return to the States. We have been waiting for them for 2 weeks... getting fed and put in the house at night.... but we are super lonely. Our Mom asked this nice lady to help us find another forever family. We hope it happens fast... or maybe while we are looking someone can foster us so we are not all alone. We have some chronic eye issues( what pug doesn’t?) and we are behind on our vaccinations. Our Vet is Ladrone and they have our files and are on standby to help! We crate at night and are house trained... get eye drops and eat special food to keep our waistlines trim. We want to stay together because we are best friends AND this is what our Mom has wished for us. Please give us a look and your love ❤️
  7. There are two five plus year old Pugs looking for a home. Their owners got sick and have returned to the states. They can be seen on Facebook or let me know if you want a contact. They can also use a foster
  8. Went there yesterday and they are coming today as are they for my friend. Seems they are not focusing on prepaid so worth going in and asking.
  9. I am perplexed by the statement that they are finished with Ajijic Centro. I am prepaid and have not been installed. Guess it is time to go to their office. Anyone else in the same position?
  10. Cari LeClair is the person behind the export of dogs for all of the above. When she started it was under the auspices of Happy Tails which mission is spay/neuter. Cari has also been a volunteer at the Ranch and so the story began. The name "Bone Voyage is new but the players are the same.
  11. In addition to placing dogs both Lakeside and NOB there are organizations which hold spay/neuter clinics multiple times a year. Most of us are also involved in those. If you have a way to solve the problem please do share. In the meantime we will keep doing our best to help the innocent dogs who have been let down by humans. With respect what are you doing?
  12. They make every effort to place dogs here but there are too many and not enough homes. Yes, many dogs are euthanized in the states. The thing is that the plethora or paucity of dogs is regional. Bone Voyage works with areas of the US and Canada where rescues are eagerly sought and very quickly find homes.
  13. Bonevoyage is a non profit rescue group created to send Mexican dogs north to better homes. We work with the local shelters and with people in the Lake Chapala area that have many street dogs in their care. We also assist individuals that find street dogs and don't know what to do with them. We are all volunteers working together to try to minimize the amount of homeless dogs in the area. Bone Voyage has a new Facebook group which I encourage you to join. The group of dedicated volunteers has already sent over 300 dogs to homes NOB. The more attention and help they get the more dogs get to benefit. Please help, the community is greatly benefited by this.
  14. Did the dogs mind the taste? I find my challenge is getting something down them.
  15. In the case of the foreigner whom the Ministry of the Interior considers a refugee, as well as when dealing with minors and people over sixty years, it will be sufficient that they prove they know how to speak Spanish, through the language test.
  16. There is a new and very nice bazaar across from Puritan Poultry. I think they are called Bazaar del Lago. First time I went there, a week or so ago, they were loaded with nice things. Next time many of those things were sold. It is a large space which allows things to be displayed nicely. Would suggest it for furniture, rugs, etc. Maybe It's Kinda for some smaller stuff.
  17. Used Rene this week and he was most helpful. He fixed a lock that had been installed with some parts out of place, changed the combination of exterior locks and made new keys. He is fairly priced and very helpful as he explained a detail of my locks that no one else had done. He also does rides to airport, Tequila and anywhere else you would lime. Highly recommend him.
  18. Thanks, I am going to give Rene a try. Nice to know he has a good working relationship with Aragon and will refer on, if needed.
  19. My research on this board leads me to think that Herbierto Aragon is the go to locksmith in the area. Does he speak English? I have needs that may be too complicated for our limited Spanish. Does anyone have an alternative recommendation for English speaking locksmith with whom they have had good experience?
  20. Want it for this time of year. Not interested in the whole roller/cover thing as I am pretty sure we would never use it. Still wondering if there is any new technology which would enable us to get more heat for the space available. Anyone have a gas heater that they can comment on?
  21. Two years ago we talked to everyone selling solar pool heat and were convinced that our area available for installation was insufficient to install enough units to properly heat our pool. Further, we are resistant to installing a solar cover believing it too cumbersome to remove and replace for casual use. I am wondering if there is any development in solar technology that might result in more juice for the space? Also I have now been researching "solar pool rings" thinking they might suffice. We would be happy to raise the temperature of our pool by five or so degrees. Thoughts?
  22. Thanks, ordered on Mercado Libre and expect to have it soon. I believe the number they wanted was to ensure my identity. It seemed to say delivery would be quicker with the information.
  23. I am not a citizen but a permanent resident. Tried that number but they wouldn't take it.
