  1. Yep, they need that Mexican phone number to send you codes. They will not use a foreign phone number. Citibanamex has been easy to work with. Need a utility bill in your name.
  2. https://mexiconewsdaily.com/opinion/sarah-devries/army-brats-in-reverse-close-relationships-tough-for-expats/?utm_source=The+Whole+Enchilada&utm_campaign=0bfdbc7e80-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN+The+Whole+Enchilada&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f17425060f-0bfdbc7e80-350176874 When I first arrived, I was determined to make friends with people other than my group of foreign students. After all, I could hang out with other people from the United States in my own country; why would I want to do so here? Plus, my goal was to learn Spanish, and I wasn’t going to do it by just spending my time with people who spoke my language. I approached this, however, assuming that Mexicans’ attitudes toward friendship and their relationships with friends were much the same as those in the U.S. They are not, and it’s caused me to do quite a bit of reflection on the differences between the two.
  3. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/coronavirus/article253439134.html Immunocompromised people can now get a 3rd COVID vaccine shot. Here’s what to know
  4. https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/coronavirus/august-takes-the-record-as-the-worst-month-yet-for-new-covid-19-infections/?utm_source=The+Whole+Enchilada&utm_campaign=68cd0e87ba-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN+The+Whole+Enchilada&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f17425060f-68cd0e87ba-350176874 August was easily the worst month of the pandemic in Mexico in terms of case numbers with more than half a million new infections reported. An additional 835 COVID-19 fatalities were reported Tuesday, increasing the August total to 18,420, or an average of 594 deaths per day. The official death toll stands at 259,326, a figure the government has accepted is a significant undercount.
  5. For those of you who were concerned for the Gov. : Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tests negative for COVID-19 four days after positive test The governor credited his vaccination for keeping his infection "brief and mild" and encouraged others to consider getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
  6. No, no third shot. You been watching that nbc crap too much. He took the "cocktail", the Tamiflu of this virus. Hasn't any fear of anything. Why do I waste my time on dense people. Bye !
  7. That old "fear" will do you in every time.
  8. Actually, Abbott is running the State from his Mansion and is not missing a beat. Sorry, he is not "scared" and is doing excellent. No symptoms. Thanks for his concern !
  9. ABBOTT AND COSTELLO’S ‘WHO’S ON FIRST’ ……updated version. Bud: ‘You can’t come in here!’ Lou: ‘Why not?’ Bud: ‘Well because you’re unvaccinated.’ Lou: ‘But I’m not sick.’ Bud: ‘It doesn’t matter.’ Lou: ‘Well, why does that guy get to go in?’ Bud: ‘Because he’s vaccinated.’ Lou: ‘But he’s sick!’ Bud: ‘It’s alright. Everyone in here is vaccinated.’ Lou: ‘Wait a minute. Are you saying everyone in there is vaccinated?’ Bud: ‘Yes.’ Lou: ‘So then why can’t I go in there if everyone is vaccinated?’ Bud: ‘Because you’ll make them sick.’ Lou: ‘How will I make them sick if I’m NOT sick and they’re vaccinated.’ Bud: ‘Because you’re unvaccinated.’ Lou: ‘But they’re vaccinated.’ Bud: ‘But they can still get sick.’ Lou: ‘So what the heck does the vaccine do?’ Bud: ‘It vaccinates.’ Lou: ‘So vaccinated people can’t spread covid?’ Bud: ‘Oh no. They can spread covid just as easily as an unvaccinated person.’ Lou: ‘I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore. Look. I’m not sick. Bud: ‘Ok.’ Lou: ‘And the guy you let in IS sick.’ Bud: ‘That’s right.’ Lou: ‘And everybody in there can still get sick even though they’re vaccinated.’ Bud: ‘Certainly.’ Lou: ‘So why can’t I go in again?’ Bud: ‘Because you’re unvaccinated.’ Lou: ‘I’m not asking who’s vaccinated or not!’ Bud: ‘I’m just telling you how it is.’ Lou: ‘Nevermind. I’ll just put on my mask.’ Bud: ‘That’s fine.’ Lou: ‘Now I can go in?’ Bud: ‘Absolutely not?’ Lou: ‘But I have a mask!’ Bud: ‘Doesn’t matter.’ Lou: ‘I was able to come in here yesterday with a mask.’ Bud: ‘I know.’ Lou: So why can’t I come in here today with a mask? ….If you say ‘because I’m unvaccinated’ again, I’ll break your arm.’ Bud: ‘Take it easy buddy.’ Lou: ‘So the mask is no good anymore.’ Bud: ‘No, it’s still good.’ Lou: ‘But I can’t come in?’ Bud: ‘Correct.’ Lou: ‘Why not?’ Bud: ‘Because you’re unvaccinated.’ Lou: ‘But the mask prevents the germs from getting out.’ Bud: ‘Yes, but people can still catch your germs.’ Lou: ‘But they’re all vaccinated.’ Bud: ‘Yes, but they can still get sick.’ Lou: ‘But I’m not sick!!’ Bud: ‘You can still get them sick.’ Lou: ‘So then masks don’t work!’ Bud: ‘Masks work quite well.’ Lou: ‘So how in the heck can I get vaccinated people sick if I’m not sick and masks work?’ Bud: ‘Third base.’
  10. Anyone can contact the Admin. if desired.
  11. Agree, bmh, the guy deserved much better than what was posted. They completely destroyed his plea for help. Sad. Hopefully, he found help and is getting better.
  12. I have bought Generic from Farm GDL that were actually cheaper than Dr. Simi's. Not all, but several.
  13. Maybe the clerk is taking their cut off the top, because you are an extranjero and are too trusting to notice the difference. Lots of extranjeros get scammed because they never pay attention. 1001 reasons.
  14. Careful, Mostly, you are not playing into their narrative. Leaving yourself vulnerable.
  15. People who don't want the vaccine aren't "refusing" it. You don't say a person is "refusing" to take anti depressants. Or "refusing" to get married. You can DECLINE without "refusing". You decide what's best for you. "Refuse" is a manipulative term, loaded with Unfair Moral Pressure.
  16. The FDA calls them "unapproved medical vaccines" and has given them Emergency Authorization because of actions by the Secy of State. When and if they become approved by the regular process, the "unapproved" status will be removed to "approved". That has not happened and possibly could never happen.
  17. https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/coronavirus/daily-covid-infections-far-higher-than-official-counts-says-specialist/?utm_source=The+Whole+Enchilada&utm_campaign=a885711914-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN+The+Whole+Enchilada&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f17425060f-a885711914-350176874 While health authorities are saying that Covid-19 is currently infecting some 20,000 people a day, the actual number is 25 or 30 times higher, according to an infectious disease specialist. But Dr. Alejandro Macías of the University of Guanajuato offered the less than consoling observation that the pace of infection cannot keep up — because the disease would run out of recipients within two months. However, he also told a Covid-19 discussion panel that he expects a sudden drop in new cases will occur by September after a peak in August.“It’s a tough situation, there’s a lot of sickness. This is a steep incline that I hope will arrive at its peak in August so as to begin to decline at the end of the month or in September,” Macías told a virtual Covid discussion hosted by the Tec de Monterrey university. He estimated that half a million Mexicans are being infected daily. Dr. Alejandro Macías discounted concerns about the Cansino vaccine. A fellow panelist said that despite the pronounced growth in case numbers, Mexico’s situation can be compared with what happened in India and the U.K., where there was an abrupt and rapid decline in new cases. “If we behave ourselves during two or three weeks we can arrive at the point where there is a rapid descent,” said Dr. Francisco Moreno, head of the Covid department at the ABC Medical Center in Mexico City. And that, Macías said, means slowing the spread of the virus by avoiding crowds and enclosed spaces and wearing face masks, considering the highly contagious delta variant that is at the forefront of the new infections. “This could take a turn for the worse if we don’t understand right away that it’s not just about being vaccinated,” Moreno said. “It’s about looking after yourself with basic measures.”
