My buddy who travels continuiosly got this from a machine when entering Mexico yesterday instead of the tourist stamp in his passport. The new system at the Mexico City airport now. It is good for 180 days.

EDITED TO UPDATE: THIS HAS BEEN TERMINATED BY INM FOR ALL US TOURISTS ENTERING BY AIR.

From the INM website (https://www.gob.mx/.../forma-migratoria-multiple-digital...), the FMMd is no longer required for US tourists entering or exiting Mexico: just save your ticket and present with your passport upon departure, in case you are asked for it.

As of last night, this INM process has not yet arrived to Grupo aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP, the conglomerate of airports to which GDL belongs.) Grupo aeroportuario del sureste, which administers Cancún, and that of CDMX typically introduce changes to the systems prior to them filtering to Guadalajara. Hopefully, some day....for now; passport and residency card are what you need to leave and to return.

Just curious as to how much out-of-pocket a colonoscopy there would cost....

On Friday, $8800 cash (all inclusive, except for the prep which you get at your farmacia, cost of about $600) plus $500 per polyp biopsied. Doctor and anesthesiologist came from Guadalajara. You get a receipt for cash from the hospital; the actual bll/payment info is received from your doctor when results are received, in about a week.

Thanks jrod and mostlylost. Jrod is the restaurant you mention prior to security or ...

All I mentioned are after security, upstairs. Go thru the Duty Free security exit, make a hard left and continue down the hallway. You'll pass, in order, Starbucks, Chili's, Priority Club access, Krispy Kreme, then a couple of restaurants, and another Starbucks.

  4. On the second floor, towards the far left end of the terminal (where many Volaris flights depart) and near the Starbucks and Krispy Kreme is a sit-down restaurant that opens very early and serves a full-menu Mexican-style breakfast with egg options, among others. Have eaten there several times.  The Chili's is open 24 hrs.

Also, if you are a Priority Club member, the lounge also serves breakfast.

As do Mexican birth certificates and other official documents, the printing of an official Constancia de situación fiscal absolutely has an expiration date. That date of printing appears at top right in a box, onpage one of the two-page Constancia. This is why the papelerías are problematic: you don't get your own password to enter the system and then you cannot reprint. When you need a copy, all you have to do is logon to your SAT account with your id and password and reprint and reprint as needed.

"Lo ideal es que la Constancia de Situación Fiscal sea lo más reciente posible, ya que mostrará que la información fiscal detallada se encuentra actualizada, y así se evitarán problemas al momento de que el patrón o empresa emita una factura electrónica CFDI 4.0."

As do Mexican birth certificates and other official documents, a Constancia de situación fiscal absolutely DOES have an expiration date. It is good for 30 days from the date that appears on the form, and that date is printed, top right in a box, of page one of the two-page Constancia. This is why the papelerías are problematic: you don't get your own password to enter the system and then you cannot reprint. When you need a copy, all you have to do is logon to your SAT account with your id and password and reprint and reprint as needed.

I had a video infraction for 900+p and my son had 4. Neither of us leave the north shore. Others experiencing this ripoff?

Go to the main office in Guadalajara, planning to spend the full day, with copies of the infractions charged against you. There's a specific department where you ask for a copy of the camera capture...and a correspondingly long line. On the copies, you will see the date, time, and license plate of the vehicle involved. Possibly, the manual transfer of the camera infraction was incorrectly posted by person who keyboards the info into the system. This happened in my case. If it's what happened to you, they will complete paperwork to remove the infraction and you will sign it. Ask for a photocopy.

  8. For fun reading, here's the new Jalisco 2022 transit regulations. Changes to current laws are conveniently listed in the front section. For instance, if there is a rear-end collision with no injuries and no damage to public property or to third parties, you can now move your vehicles after following certain steps. That should help ease the delays while affected vehicles await insurance support, etc.

Thank you very much, jrod !  That was the information I was seeking !

So, I would think that the 10% discount for January payment applies to the 734, then how much is the add on for Cruz Roja and  Hogar Las Cabanas, like last year?

According to the link I attached, $33 for Cruz Roja, $28 for Hogar Cabañas, then re-calculating for the 10% January payment discount, and it somehow comes out to the increase they quoted over the 2022 cost.

This is regarding a federal program,  It does not modify state programs

Correct: AMLO's proposed federal vehicle inspection was rescinded; however, the Jalisco state emissions inspection is very much alive. I went for my (second) annual Verificación Responsable yesterday, in Ocotlán, and asked if we whose vehicles are registered and garaged here at Lakeside are included in the mandatory testing, as contradictory information is circulating. They confirmed that our area is included, and their understanding is that fines will begin sometime in 2023 as the area is close to reaching the 80 inspection lanes that is the cutoff. They also confirmed that foreign-plated vehicles (USA and Canada) who are garaged in Jalisco to area residents must comply with the emissions testing. To complete the online appointment for foreign cars, they said to make up a current -year date for the tarjeta de circulación receipt and tarjeta number and they will adjust these when you present your documents for review at the inspection station. Or, one can phone the call center number and they will make the appointment for you and email the document to take to Recaudadora or the bank for payment.

According to Governor Alfaro, documentation of inspection also provides a 10% discount in our upcoming annual vehicle registration.

We were in and out in 20 minutes yesterday morning, including time for the above questions.

Has anyone used the new electronic form designed to replace the paper FFM forms for entering Mexico? The link to the form is HERE

A friend is coming to visit and found that the drop-down list to indicate the port of entry does not contain an entry for the Guadalajara airport, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, or a city name. Is this a problem that the government will correct ahorita or is there some other work-around? Paper FMM forms do not seem to be given by the airlines any longer.

This is because the group of airports to which GDL belongs (Grupo aeroportuario del Pacífico) is not on the system to take the electronic FMM, which is only for tourists (not residents nor Canje). Incoming flights to GDL have not been asking for the form for several weeks now, instead stamping the incoming passenger's passport with an "E" (for Entrada) seal and handwriting in the number of days given for legal stay in México.

I get NHL on Shaw and CFL and stingray music for $99/month. My question to you was about the other things you speak of.

I get USA NHL Network HD (60 channels) and USA NHL Network ALT HD.  For Canada, I'd venture it would be under the local channels' programming? I don't see a CFL channel. I have Spotify for music.

Gosh, jrod, I sure hope you are wrong

Me, too. You may want to check with your supplier or, if you are able, with Shaw directly and post here. For the last year or so, we also are using firesticks; our service on all devices is 1/4 of my monthly Shaw bill. So far, no issues, although we have changed providers 3 x, and now are pretty much buffer-free.

I'm about to return to Mexico with my Shaw receiver, however, I remember last winter not being able to get many of the channels that we get here in Canada.  I have a 600 series receiver and a 72 cm dish on our home.  Any ideas on how I can get more of our channels?

Just FYI, I just put my Shaw account on hold while I try out a (new to me) streaming service. My (Canada-based) supplier said that the 600-series receivers are being discontinued, and that after February 2023 I'd no longer be able to use them to access Shaw here. If that holds true, lots of us will be looking for other tv options come February.

... and then there is the Post from today (9/19/22) about an arrival at GDL Saturday 9/17.... No forms, just must recite your flight # (which of course EVERYONE knows for every flight they take!).

And spouse came in yesterday, 20 Sept, on AA from Dallas and same in-cabin announcement: no more forms, know your flight number, which is AA xxx. And again no announcement to mask up in terminal, where few were masked. So, consistent at least from Saturday thru yesterday.
