  1. I've also had the same problem for the last few days although n outages in the past 24 hours. Mine only affected 2 rooms, one of which houses the security DVR with an old UPS that doesn't have a manual alarm shutoff. Overnight Saturday the power dropped 6 times between midnight and 7am each lasting about 5-10 minutes. Didn't get much sleep being wakened by beeps every hour. My computers and TV area have newer UPS on them keeping them alive during short outages and offering time for a normal computer shutdown should it appear the outage will be longer. Like the other morning when the power went out after 3 booms. Some trees at the carretera & 5 de Febrero blew into the overhead power line and tripped the transformer breakers. CFE came several hours later to restore power but the pile of limbs they trimmed are still there.
  2. CETES have been steadily increasing over the last couple of months. The next auction is this coming Tuesday which should show even higher rates. My last CETE investment 6 months ago was at 5.65%. It's time to start a ladder with 3, 6 and 12 month instruments. Multiva won't issue the 28 day flavor for some reason but do offer the other 3.
  3. I added back the make a payment link in my post. That's the one this software objected to.
  4. Make an appointment in Chapala Sistema de citas (jalisco.gob.mx) Make payment Print the receipts. Print off a CURP CURP | Trámites | gob.mx (www.gob.mx) Bring a current CFE bill or proof of residence and your old license. Go to Chapala behind Cruz Roja where the line is generally small to complete the process. Wait a few minutes for the laminated card. Fast and easy. The web software won't allow some or all of these direct links so you'll have to type them manually.
  5. I put all recurring payments on credit card autopay. Maybe lazier? It certainly requires less monthly effort.
  6. About 17 or 18 gallons which would about right when nearly empty.
  7. My Honda Pilot crossed $1600 to fill. Ouch!
  8. So much depends on the exchange rate. Within the last week the peso dropped over 100 basis points against the USD. I got lucky (for once) and wired money yesterday and got $20.50. The international rate dropped from about 20.70 to $20.25 after the Fed announced the rate hike this afternoon.
  9. Mas o menos $23 pesos/liter. Do the math.
  10. ILOX restored service to my house about 6pm yesterday. If the issue was an electricity problem at a central site service should have been restored to everyone.
  11. LOS light flashing red in Las Salvias. Cut wire somewhere. Sent ILOX en email about 5 minutes ago. Got this response saying yes they're down and are working on it. En este momento estamos presentando un inconveniente en la población, el personal de mantenimiento ya se encuentra verificando para restablecer el servicio lo antes posible.
  12. I remember tossing the Actinver token years ago but perhaps it was after I closed my account. My apologies. Multiva wanted the token back a few years ago switching to app only even though the app is severely lacking and rarely updated . The OP does not have a token so maybe an option is for him to return to BBVA and ask for one in lieu of the phone app. He'll either get one or not. i hope he updates us with his progress or solution. Bank processes change frequently so what we think we know is no longer applicable.
  13. The OP said he needed to use his cell phone in order to access the BBVA portal implying he does not have one of those old token generators banks used to use. My guess is that those devices have gone the way of the dinosaurs and are no longer available for new accounts. If you have one it will work until it stops working. Bancomer, Multiva and Actinver all discarded them years ago.
  14. I believe you are saying you are using the BBVA app on your iPhone to access your account but at times when you want to do the same on your PC you need a code or what they call a token to gain access. I’ll make that assumption. First, the phone does not need a wifi connection to sign onto the app. Not necessarily recommended unless you are using a VPN but wifi doesn’t have any bearing on using the BBVA cell phone app. Recently BBVA moved the access to the Token Móvil from the opening screen. You used to be able to generate the code for your PC without logging on the BBVA app. Now you must login using the cell phone successfully. Then on top right area of the screen touch the 3 bars which is the app menu. The third option down is Token Móvil. Touch that and then Generar Código to get the 8 digit code needed to log in on the PC. You can change the portal options to eliminate the need for a token on each login but even when you do that it will be needed if you haven’t accessed the bank your PC in a long time.
  15. Head east toward Walmart, turn out onto the lateral and continue down the hill and then turn right on the first street. Just past the first street you’ll see an open garage on the right hand side with lots of gas powered stuff on the street. Drop it off and pick it up the next day.
  16. But the OP subsequently asked the question about CCD security. She hijacked her own post.
  17. A stolen MX CCD cannot be easily used. No card number or exp date on the plastic and digital signature (PIN) required. Online transactions require a CVV which can only be generated with a 5 minute life. If the database stores the digital card number it cannot be used without that CVV. I don’t know how scammers fit into a question about credit cards. I think my MX CCD is more secure than my Citibank card.
  18. If you invest directly using Cetes Directo the minimum is only $100 but an investment house like Multiva may have their own rules. My guess would be a minimum of $10,000 but that’s only a guess. I’ve used Cetes as a fixed income investment for years interest rates in the US have been barely above zero. It’smprobably time to start building a ladder with a mixture of 1, 3, 6 and 12 month instruments.
  19. Alt codes for Windows machines. Press the Alt key, hold it and enter the 4 digit number on the numeric keypad.
  20. In order to attempt a password change you have to go to the secondary site SAT ID and choose the first option. This one requires the silly camera and speaking a sentence but if accepted SAT will send a link that will allow you to change your password. I was able to do it using an iPad but even after changing the password I still received the invalid RFC or password message on the next login attempt. However others post they have been able to get a new password this way. The third option seems to suggest going through the same process and when accepted you'd get a valid constancia. Haven't tried that one yet.
  21. Knowing that Weather Underground is often wrong, they called the storm last night and from a 20% chance of rain predicted this morning, they now post this: and this We moved to Ajijic in 2004 when cows and horses were grazing on dry land a quarter mile from shore. Either that year or the next the first rain came on May 31 which began the lake's recovery and ultimately the overflow and flood which resulted in the new malecon.
  22. As another option, Cetes rates have been increasing for a couple of months. The benchmark interest rate for Mexico went from 6.5% to 7% in May and the forecast is for another rate increase to 7.5% in late June.
  23. By electronic purchases I mean sites like Amazon, Costco, Mercado Libre, national airlines and now for extra security I use the digital card for all autopay like CFE, Telmex, Telcel, Internet, IAVE/PASE toll tags and Sky TV. No reason to have the real CCD number in third party databases. BBVA is constantly updating the phone app to make it easier and more secure unlike Multiva which hasn't had an update in over a year. Recently they added Face ID to the signon process. When in Mexico I use my Mexican credit card and in the US I use my Citi card. For debit card purchases Capital One works all over the world. It just seems to work for me with minimal hassle. And I've never had any promotions pop up from the app. By phone sure, but it's pretty equal between the bank, Telmex, Telcel and my expired extended vehicle warranty.
  24. Your joint owner comment about BBVA is odd as I have had a joint checking account for many years with separate credit cards and debit cards. The phone app requirement is correct. The phone acts as a security device for credit card purchases since the physical card does not carry a CVV. You set up a digital card and use it for all electronic purchases.
