  1. I'm going to take a guess that setting up wireless intercom units is very close to setting up portable telephones. Each telephone handset must be set up to talk to the base station and are numbered 1, 2, 3 and so on Each intercom must be set to the same channel to communicate with each other and numbered/named so you know which unit you want to talk to.

Come to think of it, some portable telephone sets have intercom capabilities where one handset can ring another. My AT&T phone has an INT button on each handset and allows one handset to ring another.

  2. The car dealerships mentioned are near the Hospital Puerto Hierro Andares in a pretty upscale part of Guadalajara. I not sure what car dealerships being next to a hospital and several high-rise apartment buildings means.

I had my cataract surgery at that hospital down from the Ferraris by Dr Eugenio Chavez de La Paz. Extremely organized pre and post op with a real emphasis on a sterile environment to limit infections. My total cost was under $50,000 pesos for both eyes (one at a time). Optic nerve damage possibly made the procedure a little more difficult.

I HAVE a 5 kwh system (aka produces 5 to 8 kwh PER DAY in ideal conditions).

Just for clarification, a 5kw system has the capacity to generate that amount of electricity at any one point in time. I have a 5kw system in Guayabitos that generally produces about 30kw per day while the 3kw system in Ajijic has averaged about 17 per day over the last 11 years. Bothof them have free standing inverters.

  4. It will be interesting to see how this ban plays out since it was done by a presidential decree by Obrador (executive order), not a law passed by the legislature. The next presidential election is in 2024 so it is possible that the next president could rescind it, especially if the farmers most affected take to the streets. Look at Holland and Sri Lanka although those countries banned certain fertilizers.

  5. I used Haro's office for implants last year. A surgeon comes in from Guadalajara for tooth extraction and drilling for the post. My tooth was under a crown and whoever put it in used some sort of really permanent glue. It took a long time to remove the crown but in a matter of minutes what was left of the tooth was gone. The drilling and placement of the post was also pretty quick and not very painful.

I had to wait 4 months to return for the second half of the procedure. They made the cast and then a few weeks later I came back where they attached the new tooth. Unfortunately, there was pain after the new tooth was installed with their little ratchet. It turned out there was also a problem with the back molar next to it which needed to be pulled. No big deal. However, when drilling for the new post he hit bedrock. This I blame on the surgeon because my xrays showed a wisdom tooth up there on its side not bothering anything except the drill.

He took it out which was a lot easier than other wisdom teeth extractions but after returning months later there wasn't any bone left to attach a post unless they went close to the sinus cavity. I passed on any more intervention.

I think the surgeon Haro uses was competent, but the outcome wasn't ideal. In the end the implant is fine. No pain but there is a little valley in the back where food likes to collect although the valley seems to be shrinking.

Even after this experience I would recommend using Haro's office.

  6. At this time the estimate for the 8/11 benchmark decision is 8.5%, another 75 basis point increase. The one year CETE is already 9.82. Bank CEDES or CDs is a little lower than the CETE rate but to get close you must invest $1 million pesos or more. I haven't found a way to invest directly in CETES except for the website cetesdirecto.com. Just a little hesitant sending money to an entity that only exists on the internet.

    Simple math: 2200/8 = 275/visit + your chemical costs & tools

    Simple math: 1600/8 = 200/visit + your chemical costs & tools

Depending on the size of a pool & the knowledge necessary to use expensive chemicals, I would suggest that 100 a visit is ample payment for 1 hour or a part of, on a good day. So both the above are quite expensive unless "your chemical costs & tools" is not part of the equation?

In a perfect world you are right but what if there is no one willing to provide pool service for $100/visit? It’s actually worse than the simple math suggests because a “visit” only lasts 10-15 minutes. Good pay if you can get it.

What should happen is more people getting trained and enter the market to provide competition at a lower price forcing the per visit cost down to a more reasonable level. Not holding my breath.

  8. The only question I'd have is if the person with no tool or chemicals has any idea how to maintain a pool other than brushing and vacuuming.

The water may be clear today but it only takes a few days for the water to turn cloudy or green. Any hire must know the basics of balancing those chemicals.

A little off topic but I had to hire a new pool guy in Guayabitos for a 5x9x1.5 meter salt water pool for $1600 pesos/month. I supply the salt and chemicals. The last guy couldn't figure out how to eliminate the black algae he caused 2 years ago. Lots of excuses but no results. Hoping for the best but his competition wanted $2200/mo. Both supposedly 2x/week.

  9. If you go to this page https://satid.sat.gob.mx/ you can get the constancia without a password. You must have a valid RFC and a device that can record you while speaking a sentence. They sent me one about 3 days after my request by email

I have successfully changed my password using this method but am still getting denied access due to an invalid RFC or password. No idea why but since this works why bother figuring it out?

How do you know/find out what “release” (6.2 6.4) your SIM card is? Thanks.

Click on the link I posted earlier and enter your Telcel number. If the result says your sim supports voLTE then you have a current version or at least current enough. If the test fails you can go to Telcel and ask for an updated sim.

Telcel has states you will need a phone with VoLTE capability after July 1 2022 to access the network in the USA as they are closing the 3G network

If you want to see if your phone supports VolTE enter your number on this page:

Activa VoLTE - Voz de Alta Definición | Red 4G LTE Telcel

On another note, newer iPhones support 5G (at least my 12 does and 6S does not). Check the option under Cellular/Cellular Data Options/Voice & Data. There's also a Data Mode on that same screen.

  12. I'm having 5 minute outages in the same 2 rooms overnight and during the day. Yesterday there was also a short complete outage.

The partial house outage could be a low voltage situation but I haven't caught them with my ohmmeter to be certain. For those with outages is it the total house or just part, consistent with one phase dropping?

  13. I've also had the same problem for the last few days although n outages in the past 24 hours. Mine only affected 2 rooms, one of which houses the security DVR with an old UPS that doesn't have a manual alarm shutoff. Overnight Saturday the power dropped 6 times between midnight and 7am each lasting about 5-10 minutes. Didn't get much sleep being wakened by beeps every hour.

My computers and TV area have newer UPS on them keeping them alive during short outages and offering time for a normal computer shutdown should it appear the outage will be longer. Like the other morning when the power went out after 3 booms. Some trees at the carretera & 5 de Febrero blew into the overhead power line and tripped the transformer breakers. CFE came several hours later to restore power but the pile of limbs they trimmed are still there.
