  1. Yep, Mexicans don't get mad, they get revenge.
  2. Please everyone, learn from this. Do not stop or try to avoid animals on the highway. A human life is worth so much more.
  3. My understanding is that the current US President has 41,000 illegals in holding, waiting to be deported. He has set an all-time record for deportions by US Presidents. The new President will have a long way to go to match that record.
  4. You are being political because you Are badmouthing the selection of the person that the US has elected for its President . What you are really saying is that those who voted to elect their new President are $%&/()s because they don't agree with your opinion, and your opinion is the only one that counts. THAT is why you are being political. MC is reporting FACTS, about those who do not respect the results of an election because they lost and did not get their way. The US has spoken for what they want for their next President, so people need to realize they lost, and accepting those results and moving forward is part of growing up and shedding childish behavior.
  5. Reminds me of shopping at WalMart NOB and seeing those spoiled children throwing a "fit" when they don't get what they want ! Recently, I was with my oldest daughter, when such an incident took place. She said "Dad, were we like that when we were that age?" My response to her was , you might not be here today, if you were like that. She hugged my neck.
  6. Detroit is clammering to build more cars, and I believe that would help the economy by returning production NOB. China is most definitely not the friend of most in the World. I have always felt that was exactly what the new US President was saying when he said we would build that wall and Mexico would pay for it. And, I think he made it pretty clear to EPN. I think he believes that Mexico has the resources to essentially stop illegal people/drugs from going North, and so do I. Hopefully, they will be told straight up what is demanded of their participation in the partnership. It is way past time that the US clean up its act with foreign "partners" and demand that those partners do the same, or the US will find other partners. Again, the US Congress will be the problem to fix many things that the new President wants to fix. However, he was elected to fix them, that should be enough for the Congress, but it will not. Just my 2 pesos.
  7. That is enough reason for the US to pull out of NAFTA and get their s*** back on track. If we are not breaking even and not getting along, we don't need to be there, as things will just continue the way they are. Only REAL change will get the UDS back where it should be, and that will not come easy with those "old" men in Congress from both parties. Term limits are desperately needed NOB.
  8. How can the US survive with that continuing? NAFTA is killing the US.
  9. Well said. I would not have had the freedoms nor opportunities without their sacrifices. Thank you !
  10. interesting that you know so much about Pedro and you have only made 3 posts. Very Interesting. Looks like bennie2 is "right on" !
  11. Maybe that is why it has lasted so long, and keeps on ticking ! Yep, no doubt many NOB would be better served here by the Mexican Government. That is why I suggested if he was unhappy or in fear, he might want to get out of there like you did.
  12. That makes me very fearful ! Will they be taking away all those work permits, and not issuing any more?
  13. Maybe you were actually misinformed about Trump, as many were. But, if you are afraid of him being President of the USA, then by all means, leave.
  14. As one who has been through that process with my Mexican wife, it is MUCH easier and less time consuming than most people post. Also, very easy to apply and receive permission to leave the country for an extended time and then return, as we left for a quinceanera for about 20 days and returned 10 days before her green card was issued, no problems. The paperwork is very straight forward for anyone that can read and follow directions, no lawyer, etc. needed. Don't knock the system, that is not the problem here.
  15. To me, the easiest way around any problem is to show a US passport(or Canadian) upon entry to the US, and if you have a Mexican plated car, then you need a Mexican driver's license. That DL shows you are a resident and living in Mexico, not currently living in the US. Everyone is happy. When you show a US driver's license, that shows that you are currently living in the US( because it is current and your address has to be correct), and therein lies the problem with the Mexican plated car. When you are not in your car NOB, you can use your other DL for ID, etc. Seems simple to me. Do what you like.
  16. If I show a US driver's license, in the US, I am not on vacation from Mexico. Your US driver's license has your current address (and MUST be corrected within 2 weeks of a move). Think about that. If you are living in another country, then that address is where you live and your US address is incorrect, so your DL is invalid, no?

  18. BTW, those who have a problem with the BP agents at the Bridge asking about beer/liquor, because it is a state tax. Go ahead and say you don't have any (when you do) and let them pull you over, search, and find it. Then, you will know what they can actually do , or not do. Call that bluff !
  19. They do not "enforce" state laws, they just turn you over to the state police if they believe you are subject to state laws. Personal experience. I don't have a source on the mountain pass, sorry. Maybe Tom does. I'm just saying what we have been told at the Border, that a legal, permanent resident of the US cannot have a Mexican plated car while living in the US. How do they know I lived in the US? I showed then my driver's license, when I was asked for it, which showed we were legal, permanent residents of Texas, with my correct address, when they questioned. Hey, do what you like, I do. Follow the rules, or don't. That is something you need to decide for yourself. Don't like what I post, ignore it. That is what I do when I read something that you post and I don't like it. OR, check it out for yourself, then you will know for sure, and you will not have to depend on what others say.
  20. I believe that only citizens of foreign countries are allowed to drive foreign plated cars into the US. Otherwise, with the peso like it is, there would be a lot of new cars bought in Mexico and driven to the US. Don't get stopped by a state hwy patrol, using a US driver's license. Will he just give a ticket, or impound?
  21. I believe that replies only to citizens of foreign countries. Makes sense to me.
  22. Mexican citizens that enter the US with a Mexican plated car have no issues. US citizens can not own a Mexican plated car in the US. I think most US police have not encountered this before, but I believe that soon that will change, and the law will be enforced.
  23. Maybe you should check the law to see if an American citizen or green card holder can legally have a foreign plated car in the US. They told my wife, a green card holder at the time, that she could not have her car in the US because it was Mexican plated and she was a legal US resident. I think that if you show a US driver's license, that says you are a legal US resident, and most states only give you 2 weeks to change your legal residency on your driver's license, You could have a problem. Of course, if you never get stopped by US police, then probably you will not have a problem. I can imagine the problems when responding to a state hwy patrol when he asks " is this address your current address" when you show him your DL when driving a Mexican plated car.
