  1. Why do people that insist on taking their dogs to restaurants feel that they have more rights than the rest of us? It's been stated over and over again that it's illegal to take pets into an enclosed restaurant area. There are plenty of open, outdoor patio restaurants to choose from.
  2. ibarra, you should ask the homeowners in El Dorado about how bylaws need a vote of the residents to be changed 'legally'. They'll tell you the horror story of their fight for the last 8 or 9 years!
  3. Sounds very interesting. What kind of crepe fillings are you going to serve?
  4. gringohombre, I was in the Ilox office, and the woman there told me that there were only about 9 or 10 channels in English. The rest are in Spanish with English subtitles.
  5. It's not a matter of 'false pride' or the notion that it 'ages' you for many people like myself. It's a matter of not being able to afford decent hearing aids, plain and simple. If I could find a hearing aid that I could afford, and it actually worked, I'd be wearing it with pride!
  6. Hmmmm, several Fox channels, but no CBS, ABC or NBC?
  7. Did you ever stop to think that some of us who need hearing aids can't afford to get them? I'd love to be able to hear conversations clearly!
  8. What holds the overdenture in place while you are chewing food? Wouldn't it be popping out all the time?
  9. 120 pesos for a glass of wine? No thanks! Now I know why it's always empty when I walk past it.
  10. It's been open for about a week now. I haven't tried it yet, but whatever they're cooking smelled very good as I walk past the place. Sorry that I can't help you with more info at this time.
  11. I like the Chicken Pad Thai at Tepetate because instead of using peanut sauce, they use tamarind sauce. Delicious! And a huge serving. I can get three meals out of one order!
  12. I prefer the food at Tepatate Thai. Love their Chicken Pad Thai and their crispy vegetable rolls, especially!
  13. Yes, many of us are from Canada originally, so your US dollar conversion means nothing to us.
  14. The way that I read his last paragraph in the original post made it sound like that......"It is a good idea to make sure that when you use any of the aforementioned forms that you use the new ones as using the old ones may cause a delay or rejection when you do any business with the National Immigration Institute or INAMI. It is unknown when immigration / airports / border crossings will have the new forms available as well as if there will be any grace period for use of old forms" I just wanted to make sure that I had the correct information from Spencer himself. I hope that's alright with you RVGRINGO.
  15. So Spencer, are you saying that all of us that temporal or permanente visas need to get new cards now? And if so, is there going to be a charge for that?

    SMOKE HOUSE

And you wonder why some people get confused. This thread is supposed to be about the Smoke House restaurant, not a carniceria! If you want to have a discussion on cuts and price of meat, start a new thread!
  17. Yes, that's correct, johanson. I get the recorded message, but have never been charged a single peso. I've had this plan for about two years now.
  18. It does include a certain amount of data in the package. Since I never text or use my phone for emails or internet, I can't tell you the amount. Just ask at one of the Telcel stores. They have a poster on the wall describing the plan.
  19. I have the 'Sin Limite' plan, and it's 199 pesos per month for unlimited calling to Mexico, U.S. and Canada. And it works while you're in those countries as well. Check for more details at your local Telcel office. I use the one beside Alex's Pasta Bar. Ana is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
  20. With the Sin Limite plan at Telcel, you can call toll-free numbers in U.S. and Canada on your cellphone with no charge. You will hear a recorded message stating that these calls are not 'toll-free', but I've never been charged even one peso!
  21. Tried to PM you, but it says that you can't receive PMs. Please send me the listing information about the condo. Thank you.
  22. The Joco condo you describe sounds too good to be true at that price......why is it not rented already?
  23. These look like they might be the solution for me. Do you know if they ship to Mexico? I couldn't find the answer to that on the website.
  24. Some of us with hearing loss can't afford to buy hearing aids, so we just have to struggle as best we can. If you think that you're irritated by this, how do you think those of us with hearing loss feel? I'm sure that I'm even more irritated than you could possibly imagine.
  25. Interesting, because I always have good service and food at Los Telares. I go there at least once or twice a week, and the waiters know me and bring my drink before I even have to ask for it. And all the menu items that I've tried have been very good. Never been disappointed there. Been there as a solo diner, and with a larger group....same great service!
