  1. My favorite cinnamon buns are the ones from Vicky's Sourdough on the Libramiento!
  2. https://nypost.com/2021/03/10/mexico-close-to-legalizing-recreational-marijuana/
  3. I wouldn't want to be living in that apartment at the top of the mountain! 😧
  4. I had a totally different experience with Dr. Moya. I was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Guad, received a stent and stayed overnight in the ICU. Full care from the nursing staff (even bathed me in the morning!). Dr. Moya then drove me home to Ajijic himself! The itemized bill from the hospital included all the surgical costs and hospital stay. Dr. Moya never billed me anything, even with a couple of house calls post-surgery! I was so amazed and I double-checked the bill to see where his fee may be. He never received any money!
  5. I agree with Senoir D. One year ago, I had a heart attack (main artery totally clogged). Dr. Moya was my cardiologist. Took excellent care of me after my surgery (even drove me home to Ajijic himself when I was released from hospital!). Then he actually came to my home for three follow-up visits. After that, I was able to take the bus to his clinic for further check-ups! I highly recommend him!
  6. I went to the page, but could not find the rental that you are talking about. Maybe the post was deleted?
  7. According to their website, the only days they close are Christmas Day and New Year's Day. We were there yesterday (Good Friday) and they were open.
  8. Lost electricity for three days over the weekend, so need to make a trip to Costco to replace a lot of frozen items. Will they be open this Sunday?
  9. If Mexican autoworkers get more money, will this mean that non-unionized workers, such as maids and gardeners, will get more as well? https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/29/business/economy/usmca-deal.html
  10. Building a roadway out in the lake is probably the most practical solution for the traffic congestion in Lakeside. The lake is shallow enough that building a road (bridge-style with concrete piers) could work very well. It could carry traffic all the way from Chapala to Jocotopec. Like a highway, it should only have enter and exit ramps in about five or six places (Chapala, San Antonio, Ajijic Centro, San Juan Cosala, and Joco, for example).
  11. I have the list for the other ones, like 800 or 888, but I can't find the alternative for 855. TIA.
  12. tomgates, I find your comment to be insensitive and not helpful to timjwilson and others in his position. I'm sure if he could afford one, he would have considered that a long time ago. Not everyone can afford to have a vehicle, including me! Or maybe his disability prevents him from being able to drive.
  13. Arborio rice is available at Walmart and El Torito. Sorry, I've never bought duck fat, so I don't know where you would get that.
  14. I like Tepetate for their Chicken Pad Thai. It's made with tamarind sauce, instead of peanut sauce. I find peanut sauce overpowers the flavors of the the other ingredients in the dish.
  15. I would think the most likely place that would serve that would be Johanna's restaurant in La Floresta.
  16. There are many small Telcel offices around Ajijic. There's one beside Alex's Pasta Bar across from the Plaza Bugambillas. There's a couple across from the Ajijic Plaza. And I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that come to mind at this time.
  17. Take your hummingbird feeders in at night, otherwise the bats will suck them dry!

One helpful hint, Senoir D. When you are posting a topic, it helps if you tell us in the header what the topic is about, not your name.
  19. No one is saying she did it on purpose. She admitted that she was confused. As we get older, our reflexes usually slow down. Her reaction time could also be impaired due to medications she may be taking. The driver should have to take a complete driving test just to make sure that she is capable, so that she doesn't hurt herself or others.
  20. Also check out Muebles America or Coppel in Chapala.....they have several different styles of recliners. I bought one at Muebles America and they delivered it the next day,
  21. There is no 'internet only' package. The least expensive one is internet and telephone with up to 40 Mbps. That is 399 pesos a month.
  22. I've noticed that a few times when I try to post a topic. I get that same message, and yet my post appears on the board. Can the moderator check this out? My account settings seem to be normal.
  23. I live on Zaragoza, and last evening at dinnertime, the water ran out for about an hour, then came back. This morning, the same problem! I'm hoping it will be back on soon.
