  1. Similarly bad experience with "Junior" still underway. Also told "two weeks" for repair, its now two months and "work" done so far is abysmal. Stay as far away from this "business" as possible !
  2. make it werewolf ! therapy dogs rules are being stretched like handicap parking permits...its what people can get away with
  3. I want some older style tiles too What are Ranchera tiles ?
  4. Looking for recommendation for a good electrician with experience, somewhat bi-lingual and willing to charge per day or per hour. I know there are a lot of guys who "do it all" , but I'm looking someone who is primarily an electrician Thanks for any leads
  5. Anyone have a rental available in La Manzanilla Nov 16-18 ? Hotel recommendations, vacation rental etc ? We are not on facebook or Air B&B.... Thanks
  6. Can each TV watch a different channel ? I thought each TV needs its own box and subscription with Shaw
  7. Thanks all. Anyone know what Adalitas has for flooring ?
  8. Not man made What are the options here/ Guadalajara ? preferably very smooth but with some texture.. Local sources ? Thanks
  9. Thanks for the tip, who carries TuboPlus around here and is it safe for boiler temperatures ?
  10. Nice !. I'll probably go with the blue piping since it's stocked locally. My only concern is the melting tool and whether it will be hard to make connections in tight spaces Update. Trip to home depot today, they have the green TuboPlus as well as PEX and many other new options
  11. Pescadores #48 Great prices too. They quoted 280 pesos for a section of orange septic pipe vs 450 in Ajijic. 5000 liter Rotoplas tank $11,400 vs 14,200 at another ferreteria.
  12. Going there soon again, its hard to find/explain. I think its called Ferreteria Cabrera
  13. We are only a block away from the carretera, but homes closer to the lake in Riberas and other communities will have nonfunctioning septic systems if the lake keeps rising. Seems to me that the lake is at 100% regardless of what they say.
  14. If these get built there will be a complete gridlock during the construction phase alone. What a hideous idea, and for whom are these apartments targeted ?
  15. So nobody is having trouble due to the "new Amazon" according to Strong ( not so much ) VPN ?
  16. Well, after installing Strong VPN Amazon still wont play the movie due to location. After reporting the problem to Strong, they replied : Amazon has rolled out a new design for specific customers that prevents playback on the VPN. Our engineers are working on finding a solution for this but we do not have an ETA at the moment. This is what the new design looks like: https://i.imgur.com/ITIa6HB.png If you have this design, Amazon will not work on any of our servers. Only browsers are affected by this (i.e Chrome/FireFox/etc) and devices should still work as per usual (such as firesticks/tv's/etc) In the meantime, you may use any non-browser device normally with Amazon Prime video, or ask their support to roll your design back. They may not honor your request though. It is recommended that you do not mention the use of a VPN/proxy if you inquire about the design rollback. So, for now, Amazon will not work on the PC using the browser
  17. I think vent pipes were optional at the time this house was built, mine doesn't have one, nor does my neighbors house . I will be adding one however. Does anyone know if vent fumes sink or rise ?
  18. Thanks for the replies. I think Strong comes with a 30 cancelation policy
  19. I have a prime membership but was disappointed to see that one of my favorite movies is not available due to my location. Is this solved by getting a VPN service ? Any good free ones or is it a case of nothing free in life is any good ?
  20. Not bad at all, who built it ? I might add a second one for grey
  21. The water table is at its highest in like 20 years ? Even at current level, it is about 8 feet below the house ground level so I don't think backing up will be a problem. I plan to separate showers and laundry for irrigation use. Thanks for the info on where the pipe should enter, that seems logical.
  22. The house foundation is solid, nary a crack in any wall after 60 years, but having only mortar under the floor tiles is asking too much. I'm confident a solid slab with metal will hold up much better
  23. I'm a big fan of heated floors, I personally installed an entire hydronic system under hardwood in my last US house, felt great on cold days, but the hydronic system is very complex and expensive so I will probably install electric heating for the bathroom and maybe one small section of the house. The electricity for heating the entire floor would be too high I think. I need to get some of those socks !
