I use Private Internet Access ( PIA )   I have been using it for 4 years and it works great

Me too .... found PIA a few years ago, after trying many others -  first app to perform with no problems and has an IOS app as well - sticking with it forever or until it stops working so well

Ron Magen and his crew at STI solar technology have just installed an efficient and economical solar system.  I recommend them highly.

I have had Ron install both solar water and electric - I absolutely recommend and would always go to him for anything I might need for the future  - he's excellent and offers immediate and caring service should you have questions or any kind of problem ... Seren

Canada! Why on earth would you want to travel there? I can arrange a tour of Borneo headhunter villagers if you like. Much safer than dealing with Newfy seal hunters and their metal bats, or the Mounties and there twelve foot lances. The "funny money" there with it's wildly confusing psychedelic colors, you are bound to get cheated. What other country names their coins after birds?

Are you just trying to alienate Canadians? Stir up trouble? Looking for feedback?

Do you mind me asking ... what made you choose Dr Bimbela over Dr. Hernandez and Dr. Ben. I know Dr. Ben is getting older and perhaps vision and accuracy are a little challenged but he has been highly recommended in the past. Dr. Hernandez I know nothing about -only that he has taken Dr. Bens place at Casa Montana. Thanks purple flower! 🌸

I'd love to know the answer to this question as well. Can you send me a PM?

Unless there's something super special about a Nissan key, good locksmiths can re key and make you a new key for probably half the price a dealership will. And no, you don't need the old one- they'll reprogramme it. (You don't want the same old key your parking guy lost anyway, there's the potential for theft, if it's not really "lost") I lost the electronic chipped key to my Ford Escape and the only other other key I had was a not-chipped one that only opened the doors manually, but couldn't be used to start the car. Any good locksmith with the right equipment can do this. I actually got them to just make me a new key without the electronic fob- there's just a small chip in the key. I hated the electronic fob, as the car self-locked within 30 seconds after closing the doors- a real pain when you're trying to unload groceries.

"a real pain when you're trying to unload groceries"  how about:  a real lifesaver when you could be a carjacking victim!  It was very recently a horrible experience for a 75 year old woman on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of Ajijic  - please lock your doors! and appreciate it when they self lock -

Let me guess... the Telcel store that you were dealing with is next to a second hand store. I also bought a phone from them that died. Avoid. Period.

The one around the corner from them (beside Alex' Restaurant and opposite Chopsticks Restaurant) is the place to go. Ana Romero is impeccably honest and I highly recommend her. She even tried to fix the dud that the other place sold me.

That TelCel store (one next to the 2nd hand store) is notorious. I learned not to deal with anyone there over 10 years ago but they are still in business.

What exactly do you mean by "upset the economy"?

I mean that it becomes more desirable to be a maid or a gardener, working for those who come from the US who are receiving double the income they were 10 years ago and feel the need to double their employees' income accordingly, to not go on with their education to become professionals. Why would they when they can make so much, work for themselves, set their own hours ..... ?  I am paying my wonderful maid $50 pesos an hour and, because I love her so much, I give her  extra $$ for "occasions," always with the understanding that the $$ is a gift, not her salary. What is everyone going to do when the exchange rate goes back to 9 or 10?  We are in Mexico and the currency should be that of this country - I have never lived in a foreign country where the prime currency was USD and not the currency of the country.

Pros -- reduced or eliminate bi-monthly CFE payments.   Cons - if you can't afford the start up expense.   Read the experience of the posters and I think you will find anyone that's been lakeside longer than heartbeat will tell you E2 Engergies (Bettina's the contact person) and E-Sun Energy.  Find out what products they have available and google reviews of them.  Also, talk to them.   Ask them point blank questions.   I'd go with the person who answered my questions clearly and frankly -- not the one who blabbered on for 20 minutes and couldn't give me a direct answer.    And as to my experience -- exactly what El Salto said.

I've been here 15 years and I think Ron Magen is the best. All those mentioned are probably all good?

  9. Dave, yes, I know that GIS is not available to non residents. However, there are some Canadians who live in Mexico full time, are still residents of Canada but take advantage of the offered government programs, i.e., medical, GIS, subsidized housing, etc.. Aren’t you tired of paying for them? I know I am.

I think it all balances out. I live in Mexico full time but own a house in Canada and pay a lot of income tax there. When I file my return, there is even a section that is telling me how much I owe for my contribution to the health care system. I don't use any of the benefits that you are talking about but I do get my Canada Pension, which is not a handout but a pension I paid into all my life. So, I am paying for people who are using the system, just as there might be people who are using the system and not paying. I feel lucky to be in this position at this time of my life. Canada has been good to me and no, I'm not "tired of paying for them".
