  1. Heavens Robo if you’re used to uber elswhere use it at the Guadalajara airport. Only problem you’re likely to encounter is the driver doesn’t speak english and/or you can’t find where to await the driver. I have never had a problem and have used Uber out of airport many times and never waited more than 8 minutes. I do not use it to GO to the airport at 4:30 in the morning
  2. I would use Andrea Canon-Preciado as an attorney. She can be reached through the number 765-4800. currently it’s a shared line, just ask
  3. Has something happened to force the closure of the bazaar owned by Jose and located next to where Pepe & Aurora's Restaurant was? Its on the mountain side of the carretera just before the road up to los arroyo. Hasn't been open for months now.
  4. No answer their cell phone Thursday around 5 pm - figured they were closed or already out of business. Went to the Italian restaurant in west Ajijic and while a lovely crust the rest of the pizza not so much. Will have to give making my own a try.
  5. Enrique Valazquez, Studio half a block west of LCS.
  6. If the architect is wanting cash and charging taxes I would insist upon a approved factura.
  7. Aye Angus but you'll pay a thousand euros for that cute wee skirt on your avatar, so let's just say you're discriminating, no cheap! But I'd be please to tip one with ye on Robbie's birthday, or Rabbi if ye prefer!
  8. Brad would be my choice, have used him three times and glad I did. Yes, do be present during the inspection.
  9. If you have a car with a tire monitoring system I would, and do, go to Guadalajara. For a normal car I like the guy located in La Huerta plaza just west of Pacifico fish store. The guy in Chapala just south of Soriana has always been reliable and had good prices.
  10. Come on Mike, where is it? Did Felipe come from Armeria?
  11. While the lay eggs most frequently now through October the Cuyutlan Turtle Sanctuary, el tortugario, is were they can bee seen and you can assist with releasing the little ones into the sea. The tortugario staff can be found patrolling the beaches at nite, the time the turtles come onto the beach to lay eggs, collecting the eggs to prevent poachers. They bring them back to the facility, which you can visit, and hatch them out. You can also hire a boat at the Tortugario to take you onto the lagoon and through the mangrove swamp. Enjoy a sunset at one of the many beach restaurants. Hotels in Cuyutlan, are not meant for the gringo palette but for a nite should be fine. At most a 3 hour drive from Ajijic.
  12. Why on earth would you think Hensley was refering to Tortajada when she wrote STROM WHITE?
  13. I have done this flight a couple of times with no problems. I do however buy for better seats and priority board and only have carry-on.
  14. I think you need, as agent, someone in Baja. It is, I feel, an expensive process for the buyer. Buyer needs to ensure the vehicle has no fees owing in Jalisco. Turns in the plates. Then he needs to buy new plates and register the car in Baja. The time factor in the latter is a day in your life of waiting. Luck!
  15. Of course a notario is an attorney in Mexico but a NOTARY is not a lawer in el Norte!
  16. La Tequila, Guadalajara. Locally I'd pick one up in the Raquet Club albeit for ambience morse so than fine dining.
  17. Except for this part your post was informative. But that you don't give a ? Very rude and ignorant! You did not have to write that line.
  18. Would you not be better to look stateside? If I understand you, your looking for a device your dog wears on a collar. Works like find my phone on ipad. Obviously the dog needs to wear a collar constantly with the unit on. I believe Garmin makes one as do a couple of others. All of which you can readily find on google. if that's not what your looking for I don't understand what you want.
  19. Phil you might want to locate a teeter hang up inversion at a Martes location in Guadalajara. I am positive google research will show them to be best, albeit a tad more costly. The sales clerk will, I'm certain, be able to hook you up and invert you. Frankly 'tho I'm not sure one try will give you sufficient feedback. I think it's a buy and try situation in which only time will tell. Ergo, an intensive google search on benefits may be your deciding factor.
  20. To use Uber it must be done through the app on your iPhone, never with a phone call. By doing that you will find out if Uber has local service.
  21. SAS are serious shoes for professionals on their feet all day and often on cement for several hours. I've used them for about 10 years under the latter conditions and, while not the most attractive, without question. They are not a widely known shoe except maybe among nurses on their feet all day. I combine mine with a good orthopedic insert custom made and probably more expensive then the shoe. When comfort is essential I've never found anything better. SAS - San Antonio Shoes, hand made in San Antonio Texas, give them a google search, you'll be glad you did!
  22. From a warehouse in Tlajomulco Friday night 40 various models of new ford cars and pickups were stolen. Info from Proceso News, Guadalajara. So maybe some "steals" available soon.
  23. Ugh, hated Disco. Thin, burnt and no sauce. I may go back to Valencia Pizza because Perry too has gone the way of those who don't care! Probably healthier if I just strike pizza, and bassa, of my list of food choices.
  24. I think in terms of contiguous countries in North America rather than Carribean Islands.
