  1. Have lived in Colima for about 7 years.    This time of year there are delightful morning temperatures unlike lakeside.   Hotter in summer but not nearly as hot as Las Vegas or Dallas or Tucson etc.  Runs about 10 degrees f higher than Ajijic.  As the elevation climbs cooler temperatures prevail so in summer if too hot take a little trip up to Suchitlan.

Humidity in lakeside usually too dry for me so prefer here.

Best appreciated if you can converse in Spanish at least somewhat.  You do not have the safety net lakeside provides.

i would suggest you make a few trips out this way and lineup a tour company, kind of fun to google all the attractions Colima has to offer.

As to the comments on Volcano I have not found this to be an issue.  In fact prevailing winds blow towards Guadalajara and not found here.

I could paint a pretty picture however don’t want to encourage the development of another Gringolandia!

  2. Perfocel is the name but take a picture with you to show as well.    I think I bought some at the lumber store across from the waffle house in Ajijic.   Can’t remember but think they may have had to order it for me.    If you have pegs you might want to confirm hole size 1/8 or 1/4 but for me its been a take what I can get.

Most of what's on that list is totally  for the paranoid. I am worried about the status of our favourite tree right now and whether I can find a trike builder anywhere in Mexico.

Well the trike builder is valuable info.   Best I could come up with was buy the bike here and take it to Texas for the trike part.   Fun ride to boot!

It's a gene Mexican drivers are born with. It helps them hit the horn 1/4 of a second after a light turns green also. I think it also helps them know exactly when that light will turn green, as I'm sure you've noticed them inching forward a second or two before it actually turns. Genetic superiority I guess.

    Nah, they’re from New York!

  5. We has Dr. Whitehurst here for a bit.  He did not do any contributory public service.  He did not speak Spanish.    He returned to the US because the foreign community did not want to pay him 600 pesos a visit.   He was, and is back at it, a Doctor with the US military so perhaps you could find him through that acre and get his first hand experience.

Traitte does deliver for us, and now with Lakeside gone, we are working towards finding a personal delivery driver or saving up for a moped/motorcycle to deliver. For now use Traitte and hang tight!!

how is  the search for a delivery vehicle going.?   A pizza place, no matter how good the pizza, without delivery seems an unlikely recipe for success.   As of yesterday this place still doesn’t address this issue as a concern so it’s not a winner in my book!

I use Mattias, he has always been reliable (at 4 AM), and his fee to the airport from Ajijic is $400. His cell is 331.333.5961. Speaks a little English, clean car, good driver.

Waited two days and he never returned my call or message.   Thumbs down on Mattias!
