  1. Interesting BD but I understand the reference to agrarian community land to be an edijo by definition. All the result of the revolution against Diaz’ cabal. Article 4 deals with professions. I don’t see a specific mention of indigenous people in Article 27 but I do see ss 4 referencing the sale of rural land as prohibited from sale to commercial stock companies. My thought was Mexico was unique in treating natives as being NOT different from any other citizen. Equality being the key. So my only point was there is no such thing as “indigenous land” per se. Indigenous defined as native american. If you have an exact reference in the constitution to indigenous let me know ‘cause I cannot find it. Thanks
  2. It seems to me there is no such thing as indigenous lands except within the defines of ejido. The latter which was dependent on the allocation of agrarian land to peasant populace. At least thats my understanding of the Constitution.
  3. Too much work for me. Parking for inside service not acceptable. Tried to order a pizza but they DO NOT deliver. Phoned the delivery service who said their charge was 50 pesos. The pizza was 200 pesos so with a tip of 20 pesos it was 270 pesos for a 12” pizza. So phoned perry’s, mj closed Sunday, and delivery pizza and tip was 200 pesos and a larger pizza. Bottom line is this purple garlic will not be a likely choice in the foreseeable future.
  4. Consider house location. I know la floresta west to la canacita there is a rat problem. Both sides of the Carretera to the lake. They love love love to frequent vines and uncleaned palm trees. Removing the vines in two locations worked to get rid of them
  5. But we live in Mexico, who cares about the US

    Turkey Day

Any restaurant or evento serving a turkry dinner for the Canada Thanksgiving day next monday.
  7. Had TechnaAqua build one about 14 years ago and it was fine. Salt quickly lost its appeal when black algae persisted and went to chemicals. I have heard from several people that Rudy is the go to guy now.
  8. I always take my car to the dealer because I feel them best suited for the job; however, I have known of Felipe’s work for years. He was the go to guy in Armeria, Colima for all the gringos because he did a good job, spoke perfect english, was trained in the US and never screwed anybody.
  9. I looked at all the options a few years ago and opted for the posada. I found it perfect, central, great staff and restaurant
  10. Check out Cuyutlan. 2 1/2 hours. Do a google search for Cuyutlan Properties and contact Mac or Juan. I prefer it to Manzanillo as much more tranquil while the Cities of Manzanillo and Colima are 30 to 40 minutes away.
  11. S&S Auto. I was under the impression there are basically 3 insurance companies and the local agents go to them for a price. Qualitas GNP and HDI. I use HDI because in my opinion their overall response time from the scene of the accident to any payout is better than the other two. It is marginally higher in cost then the others usually. So to me I want an agent who I can trust and for that I pick S&S Auto.
  12. This is about the same height as Denver so drinking plenty of water is advocated. But different strokes for different folks!
  13. My goodness CG why so abusive? Referred to was a phone company past black coffee. Past not alongside. And there is! You are the only one saying telmex beside black coffee.
  14. If a month ago it was 20.8 pesos to the us $ and today it is 19.1 then it’s the usd that’s weakening; can’t even begin to think the word tanking to even be in the realm of adjectives.
  15. I don’t think confrontation is the answer. Online you should be able to easily find a dog repellant. Seems to me nicotine might be an effective detractor.
  16. Furniture Show in August. I thought this was at the expo center next week but Senior Google tells me its the Enart show held Feb and August in Talaquepaque. The later, as I recall, was short on furniture whereas the expo center had a plethora of it. Your thoughts appreciated.
  17. Yes! You will need a proof of address locally in your name however. Personally I would, with very few exceptions, NEVER buy a used car in Mexico. You can buy a new March or Kia for under 10K USD. For your personal safety and protection my advice would be for you to buy through S&S Auto!
  18. Does Benno’s sell and install all one needs?
  19. Mischeif you wrote: “. If we were "well off" we wouldn't be looking to live there! . Angus said the probable truth - you can't embrace the culture, you will be toast and headed north quickly. If the sole purpose to move here is to live cheaply I agree, chances of living happily here is not a likely probability. So come down and if you can’t adapt to the lifestyle consider another country
  20. Have an actual location for Dr Carla? Where in Riberas¿
  21. From my experiance I would look for a craftsman with a good reputation. Best price scenario has never worked for me. Too, it depends where you are located for ease of labor. In Ajijic I would check out Las Salvias Aluminio. N/E corner of 5 Febrero and the carretera.
  22. And Tom, thanks for the phone #
  23. For quality contemporary furniture I’d go to Palcencia on Ave. Patria, Karen Colignon on Americas and the store next door.
  24. Four stars to Gualberto as jRod mentioned. This guy knows his business. His cell is 331-026-5450. Lives in Riberas but travels all lakeside.
