Pharr is only open to cars early in the morning or after 6 at night.  Check the Mexican land ports of entry to check the times of each crossing.  I've taken Ansalduas for the last two years.

Do you go through Monterrey or Ciudad Victoria?

  2. Found it here https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/international-non-residents/individuals-leaving-entering-canada-non-residents/non-residents-canada.html in the Which income tax package should you use? section, right above the Filing due date heading.

"Due to international mail delays, the CRA is temporarily accepting non-resident income tax returns through fax. You can fax your return to the tax centre applicable to your country of residence."

I haven't done my taxes yet. If you successfully send yours by fax please let me know. Thanks very much for posting this.

Apparently we can FAX our tax returns this year ( non-resident, not the "usual" return).  This would be great but haven't needed to FAX anything for years.  Where is the best place to go for several pages each person?     Gracias

I hadn't heard about this. Tried to find it on CRA's website but couldn't. Do you have a link to the information? Thanks.

I live in San Carlos and love it. Now it is hot in the summer. About 4 months of heat and humidity. I like San Carlos because it is a community. Lots of good restaurants, bars, and friendly people.Keep in mind it is a no hassle zone. Which means no visas required, cars with any plates anyone can drive.

Sounds inviting. What's the cost of living like in San Carlos? Thanks.

If you bought the car you likely have an RFC. Did you check using your CURP?

    Go to: https://www.sat.gob.mx/personas/tramites-del-rfc

    Go To RFC Procedures

From the Drop Down Menu click "See More"

Scroll down and Use the RFC Validation Drop Down Menu

Click "Check your RFC key using CURP"

Optional: If you get a screen that shows your RFC, take a screenshot and print it. It will have your CURP in the background.

Take that paper to the papeleria on the corner of Ramon Corona and Priv. Ramon Corona in SAT. Tell the woman that you need your Constancia. You'll need to come back when it's ready with $100. That is what your insurance agent needs.

Thanks for the info but I bought a used car several years ago and, yes, I did check and I don't have an RFC.

  7. I use activated charcoal. I open a capsule into my mouth - gotta do it carefully because that black powder will go everywhere. Then I swish it around in my mouth for 5 or more minutes, carefully spit it out into the sink, and then brush my teeth. Can do it every week or so. Not gonna get the fake white that chemicals provide, but I think it helps.

So even if you have their credit card you are still stuck paying more for using it there?

When you consider the additional cost of having it that doesn't strike me as much of a good deal.

Mea culpa, I just looked at the price labels again and you pay the same as cash price if you use the Costco card, so you'd have to spend 15,000 pesos to cover the annual fee. Lo siento mucho!

I have a couple of photos of Costco price labels on my phone so I did a bit of math. To pay with a credit card as opposed to cash costs 2.3% more, so you're really getting 0.7% back on your purchases. In order to pay for the $450 annual fee, you'd have to spend 64,285 pesos per year or 5,357 per month - just to pay for the annual fee.

Edit: Mea culpa, I just looked at the price labels again and you pay the same as cash price if you use the Costco card, so you'd have to spend 15,000 pesos to cover the annual fee. Lo siento mucho!
