I drove my car for 5 years in Mexico WITHOUT a sticker at all.  Long story short, I was told I could get it in Guadalajara.  As you found out, it's not possible.  Just drive it to the closest border and surrender your sticker as you should have in the first place.  This will take that car off the Aduana records and you will be OK to import another car.  Your new husband can also import a car in his name.  Maybe you could even import another car with your new married name and a new passport number.

Golfers? I have a friend coming from California tomorrow and wants to do some golfing; he's bringing his clubs. How can one gain access to Chula Vista for 8-10 days. Is there a short term membership thhat can be bought? I've heard there isd not, that you buy a membership  or  must be  guest of a member. Any members of Chula Vista willing to host a 7 handicap California gollfer? For a fee?
