i can't believe they let them build that road with such an absolutely hazardous non interchange with a major four lane road like Chapala highway.

It is not illegal to turn left on a regular green when the intersection is clear in this country.  Many if not most traffic lights do not have protected left.  When else are you supposed to turn left?

I would contest this ticket.  When they removed the "Only" sign they removed the restriction.  The cop is going on the past.  Surprised he didn't try to shake you down.

Two things:  First, the market has slowed significantly.  Some suggest it is because of exchange rate shock others point to overly ambitious pricing.

Look at the properties for sale in your area and do an honest comparison of features and price to yours.  In a slow market the best pricing strategy is to offer more value for money than the competition.  Make sure you have prepared the places well, decluttered, manicured landscaping, paint and repairs where needed.

Second, look for the agency or agent that seems to sell more homes in your area.

Anyone who has lived here for years knows how Chapala and the cops work and are "motivated."  Anyone who doesn't must have been living under a rock.

Transito games around the holidays in particular are well known though I have to say those seem to have decreased significantly over the 15 years we've lived here.

As noted previously, there are great numbers of legitimate and real violations for them to raise money off of these days.  Maybe that's why the "conjured up variety have decreased.

My understanding is Mexicans don't normally tip cab drivers.  Has this changed?

Personally speaking, I find TelMex and TelCel both to be screaming bargains compared to what these services cost in the U.S., particularly TelCel.  Easy to put up with the occasional minor problem at these prices.

FYI  - I use my search engine to find past articles in chapala.com.  For this topic, I typed Shoe Repair chapala.com  and found several results, more recent than 2018 that you found.

There is a photo of the front of the shop in the link that Mostlylost provided.  Degollado is a one way street heading away from Madero.  The shop is about 1 1/2 blocks, on your right, just after a short privada street.

 

You wouldn't happen to know their hours, would you?  Mainly, do they close down in the afternoon for siesta?

Yes, saw that, going to check.  However the existing sign is trash and hoping to tell the owner where to find one like the two I mentioned.

Helping someone with a chronic tagging problem on a no parking sign find the kind that one can wipe the graffiti off with solvent without damaging the sign or message.  As an example, across from the school next to the Plaza and across from the church in Ajijic, the garage doors there have that type of No E sign and size they are looking for.  

t appears it may have some sort of coating on it that won't allow graffiti to stick.  The no right turn sign at the end of Guadalupe Victoria at the NE entrance to the Plaza is also graffiti proof and easy to clean.

The regular painted ones don't work because they are damaged by graffiti removal.  That is all the sign shop at the east end of San Antonio on the Carretera has.
