  6. The owner Roberto has serviced and repaired my car(s) for the last 18 years. Very honest great English and I've never had a complaint. If he can't fix it he will know someone who does. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
  7. Sorry Harry but I'm confused. I have the following meeting in my calendar. Are there two meetings ? ? ? ?
  8. Check with Roberto at Hernandez Llantera - beside Tony's, just west of Super Lake. His brother in Chapapa is an auto electric wizard and both speak good English.
  9. After some searching, I found a Shaw web page that lists the newest lineup. It requires checking your Shaw online guide and then downloading the correct lineup. Here's the instructions: https://www.shawdirect.ca/english/support/article/8355
  10. Shaw has changed a lot of their channel numbers. Here is a Shaw Direct web page that may help you find where your channels went: Shaw Direct
  11. To complete this post...... I have arranged to have our current President, David ECCLES contact "KLM" to arrange to receive the donation.
  12. Cesar is the Treasurer of the Lake Chapala Shrine Club. You can also take a cheque and turn it over to the club at their monthly meeting at the Real de Chapala at 1 PM tomorrow (Tuesday). Ask at the desk where the meeting is held. I'm a member but still in Canada, but I can almost guarantee you a free lunch and and a big show of gratitude. Thanks "klm".... your generosity will help Mexican kids to receive medical treatment at our Mexico City Shrine Hospital for Children. .Shriners Hospitals for Children - Mexico
  13. Tried to PM you but received this message: " HarryB cannot receive messages. " I just sent you an email....
  14. Canada's Nexus/Trusted Traveller/Global Entry program has been using Iris (eye) scans instead of fingerprints for the last several years. Sounds like the U.S.A. is catching up on technology.
  15. We bring our Cdn. unlocked cell phone (Telus) to Mexico each year and several years ago bought a Telcel SIM card for it. We use the Telcel card while there for 6 months and then let it expire. When we return for the winter, we go and see Ana at the Telcel store ( TelCel ) just south of Alex's Pasta and she renews it. We use the same telcel number (SIM card) year after year. I'm sure others will tell you the same thing - Go see Ana !
  16. I'm in Canada and have my own Shaw account. I received an email from Shaw last week pointing me to this "HD network upgrade: 2019 conversion and launch schedule" web page. Have a look: HD network upgrade: 2019 conversion and launch schedule
  17. This should lighten up" this series of posts:
  18. Great on scrambled eggs and almost anything else too. We buy big bottles at Costco to bring home to Canada when we "migrate".
  19. Lake Chapala Shrine Club One of the main activities of our club is the transportation of children so they can attend their appointments. Many of the raffles, events and sales we do is to help them to get there and have their treatments. The salary we receive for doing this is as big and beautiful as this drawing. Thank you for supporting us in our events.
  20. Agree... We have MJ with a number in our Canadian hometown. Family and friends can call us by dialling a local number and we can call them using either MagicJack or our Mexican phones. We can also call Shaw Direct, banks, or anywhere else, without the recipient knowing we are in Mexico. The only drawback is having a decent internet speed. All that for $50 (plus taxes) USD. a year.
  21. You know you are a Canadian when: Here is what Jeff Foxworthy has to say about Canadians, during a recent appearance at Caesars in Windsor : If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you may live in Canada . If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may live in Canada . If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you may live in Canada . If 'Vacation' means going anywhere south of Kelowna for the weekend, you may live in Canada . If you measure distance in hours, you may live in Canada . If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once, you may live in Canada . If you have switched from 'heat' to 'A/C' in the same day and back again, you may live in Canada . If you can drive 90 km/hr through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching, you may live in Canada . If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked, you may live in Canada . If you carry jumper cables in your car and your wife knows how to use them, you may live in Canada . If you design your kid's Halloween costume tTo fit over a snowsuit, tou may live in Canada . If the speed limit on the highway is 80 km -- you're going 95 and everybody is passing you, you may live in Canada . If driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow, you may live in Canada . If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction, you may live in Canada . If you have more miles on your snow blower than your car, you may live in Canada . If you find -2 degrees 'a little chilly', you may live in Canada.
