  1. New Question about the same topic.  My passport expires on the 10th of April 2024.  I return to Mexico on the 8th.  Do they have to let me in?  If so, why can't I show up to renew on the 9th or the 10th?  Am I putting myself at risk?  If not, then I shouldn't have to worry about anything until my return.  Right?  Legally right but questionable?  Not smart because risky?  What would you do?  Thanks for any input since I'm being put in a position that might force me to take risky decisions.

  2. I live in Mexico.  Is there a way to expedite passport renewal in Guadalajara?  Someone who one can pay to expedite renewal, for example.  I would be flying out of Guadalajara on April 4 and returning on April 8th.  My current US passport expires on April 10th, so I'm afraid that Mexican immigration would deny my flying back to Mexico with only three days (including flight day) left on my US passport.  Any thoughts about this or similar experiences?

  3. Bought Totalplay on April 24 when it was installed. I paid $870 pesos for installation and the first month, this without Netflix yet.  But without a remote control, it was useless.  I was promised a remote within 10 days.  I finally got one on day 22, but it didn't work.  They brought me another one which sort of seems to work sometimes, but I suspect that it is Totalplay that is the culprit.  It is the most fickle and infuriating attempt at a human/tech interface that I have ever encountered.  It is almost impossible to imagine that they did any human/product interface testing prior to launch.  Maybe they did the testing at a clown convention...???    I am paid up for another few days, so I'll continue trying to blame myself for all the problems until day 30.

I would advise against doing that.  The one you choose to flip off might be a bad guy. The results could be a disaster.

The likelihood that even a really bad guy would shoot a gringo in this area is almost nonexistent.  The whole area's economy relies on us, so even the criminal Dons say "back off."

This is where at a stoplight there is a left hand turn lane and cars lined up to turn left and then someone doesn´t want to wait so they cut in the line and place themselves in front of the first car in the left turn lane in the intersection.  Very common in Guadalajara, rare lakeside.

Happened to me today at the Libramiento light facing Walmart.  I moved closer and closer to his vehicle until he backed off, then I opened the window and flipped him the bird.  Ojetes will be ojetes.  I'm not backing down to these assholes.  Almost all of them are not locals, mainly tapatios.

  6. We lived lakeside for 11 years before we paid more than $500 pesos for a dinner for two.  This new place takes precios sin verguenza to new heights, and I mean heights!  I hope that even wealthy people will recognize this and respond accordingly.

I've been using the black box sold and maintained by Donald Stordahl for many years.  We have been very happy with the performance of the box and the tech support provided by Donald.  :)
