  1. We lost phone two days ago here in Brisas. The #s the office gave us to call 1- 800 123-1123, 800 123, 2222 and 800- 368 -0500 do not work. At least not using my internet phone.
  2. No and maybe on the gardener, or at least a reduced schedule.. Easy to keep distance and the maid will be sanitizing while she cleans.
  3. Yep Coons, that is pretty much the consensus, not worth the effort by attempting action here. by most of the folks I've spoken with, who have experience and,or knowledge of this type situation. Appears that keeping any account under $10,000 removes any chance of tracing. Most people haven't judged, but I'll say this, I have never defaulted or walked away from a legal debt, or responsibility. And I've had my share in 71 years. The organization that I oppose has a bad reputation,. no matter how many times it changed hands.Which led to many of the accounting problems. Anyway, I decided to draw the line about being screwed by this bunch, and so did others . 1) I am not considering legal action. 2) I was double and triple charged frac fees and penalties due to accounting errors and rule changes. I paid for years until the errors began, so don't judge me. 3) The reason I asked is in case someone had the same experience. I am going to consult an attorney.
  4. 1) I am not considering legal action. Can you read? 2) I was double and triple charged frac fees and penalties due to accounting errors and rule changes. I paid for years until the errors began. This was not a condo assoc. etc. It had no services to speak of. Most of the lots in question were raw land. I am not the only one that was wronged. I didn't ask for approval or judgement, but I guess some can't help themselves. 3) The reason I asked is in case someone had the same experience. I am going to consult an attorney.
  5. I am considering moving some funds here from an account in the US. Depending on the outcome of a lawsuit in the US regarding frac fees etc. with a development in South Carolina. I own no property in the states now and have just one bank account. The total amount of $ would be less than $15,000. I have read that it is difficult and expensive for a US collector to take legal action on a bank. here. Anyone with experience or knowledge of this circumstance?
  6. I bought two bags of nuts at the Chapala market today, or maybe I dreamed it.
  7. Population isn't the issue I raised. It's all about response and the South Koreans blew us away with their testing response as did several other countries.
  8. You're wrong when you say back at the first of February nobody knew how bad this was going to get. South Korea and the US had their first reported cases on the same day in January. Take a look at the response and results so far from each country and then tell me again that the US acted as swiftly as possible.
  9. I have cancelled the order. So I take the info to a bank? It appears Santander and Banomex will do it.
  10. My credit card and debit card have both been declined by mercadolibre. I called both US Banks and they said there was no problem on their end. When the box comes up on mercado to verify my cellphone for more info it never continues. If I want to go to a bank and make a purchase through them, what do I need to take with me, besides the cash?
  11. The guy who delivers propane for my house told me I can by the cylinders at Walmart or Soriana. Is that true? If not, where can I buy them new or used?
  12. Need to move some heavy potted plants.Anyplace in Ajijic or Chapala?
  13. I know about Home Depot. Also saw a few at hardware store in Chapala. Anyone know of any other places?
  14. Is anyone familiar with Sergio Calderon? Or have a recommendation for a painter.
  15. They need to be re-screened or replaced. They are 208 cmx 91. Not high quality. Anyone know a place?
  16. The one near Dominoes is offline for several days.
  17. I saw a post here referring Dr. Hernandez at Integrity clinic. 766-5154, but it says the number is not a working number. Anyone know a number for him? Also called Quality care...they don't know him.
  18. I believe there are quite a few folks with more than two dogs, but they have been here before the laws were really enforced. Loose dogs are a rarity, although our neighbor, unfortunately, is the major exception to that rule. His four dogs are loose much of the time. I know he has been fined a lot, but it doesn't seem to matter. The leash law is generally obeyed, but it is ok to walk with a dog off-leash under control of the owner.
  19. We've lived/rented in Brisas four about four years and really enjoy it here. It is very peaceful and naps in the middle of the day with windows open are no problem. The first 2-3 years there were some burglaries, us included, many due to increased construction traffic on new houses. In the past two years security has been heightened and improved and crime is rare. By-laws change from time to time, but nothing that has impinged on our enjoyment, although we just rent.
  20. I've used Jr's 3-4 times and have had two friends check with the autobody place and Jr's did the work for about 60% of the quote from auto. Never had to wait longer than a a half day past what was originally estimated and that was because he insisted that he wait to match my paint exactly.. My experience with Jr has been excellent.
