Inappropriate Lakeside7. Fred has already explained this is a TERMINAL situation and he is respecting her wishes to die at home. She no longer enjoys much of anything..... but he's determined to see her through as best he can.
Natasha respectively I do not need your judgmental comment on my observation ,you are beginning to sound like a Mother Superior looking after Sunday school class. We are all different and offer alternative solutions to a problem
Possibly I missed the fact that Fred wife was terminal ill and wish to stay home.Whilst that request may have doable and practical at the start of the illness, it's getting to be challengethat Fred is finding impossible to fulfill, and time for some family or friends to intervene
Fred is no spring chicken and needs to take care of his health.
In a ideal world we should have kids who would swoop in and take charge, sadly many have kids who will not do that or want to bring us back north..That becomes less practical solutions for USA citizens if you have not maintained your Medicare
So those of you who feel your are "family ", now is intervention time,, Forget the Ra Ra from the sidelines. PEACE AND BLESSINGS

Fred your caregiver challenges seems to be growing by leaps and bounds, maybe time to consider a nursing facility, you can take a break and wife enjoys 24/7 attention

Regardless which country you wish to obtain a different citizenship from ask yourself "why I am doing this"
Depending on your answer will depend on you how you feel personally about " renouncing " your original citizenship
Personally for me, the reasons would be selfish to get the most benefits available
Let's do a survey, How many people would renounce their first citizenship if they had to renounce their pensions etc ??

Yes, there are probably going to be some difficulties with respect to recharging on the road and eventual resale. The range is supposed to be 534km. I've been looking at the Tesla supercharging station map and it looks like I could easily drive to San Miguel de Allende and make a short detour to a supercharging station on the way back. There are some destination chargers associated with some pricey hotels but I won't be using those.
A 220v home charger is supposed to charge at a rate of up to 44 miles (71 km) per hour depending on the available amperage. When a charge is needed while travelling, a Tesla supercharger is supposed to charge at a rate of 200 miles (322 km) per hour. The Tesla software is even supposed to be able to warn you when the charge is getting low and guide you to a local charging station when the need arises.
It will be a challenge figuring out the controls but, for awhile, I'll stick with the basics of opening the door, choosing among park, drive and reverse, opening and closing the trunk and frunk(?), using the navigation system, and adjusting the rear view mirrors. There's a lot of other stuff I probably won't even bother with and even these basic items require some study.
I think the range is closer to 350/400 miles, and that's in favorable weather.

If "we" are going to solve or alleviate the traffic chaos , we have to start thinking outside the box......."what if" at weekends we "modified" the direction of traffic to suit the volume of traffic....on second thoughts no , that would only cause more mayhem,...ok who has a better idea

I'm sure there must be a good reason for this !!!?????******
Why would an "old timer" say that?
At least she is giving some consideration of knowledge to the person and department who made it.
For me having more one way streets in Ajijic I think would improve the traffic flow having cars parked on 2 way narrow streets is crazy

I follow rules. Period. Those who choose not to, in the case of taxes, are committing fraud.
Given the Mexican culture where every business have 2 sets of books... I guess that must make you one of the Minority odd balls, but if that makes you warm and happy that is all that matters.

Actually no. "May" is usually followed by regulations under which the usual circumstances do not apply. I would suggest that anyone refer to their own government tax sites to determine what is required and what is not.
What is required and what one does are two different things. One May or May not follow the rules

Whatever works for you. "May" is an interesting word. I also contacted professionals when we decided to move here permanently. For nearly 28 years now, taxes have been taken off at source in Canada.
"May" i would suggest " means" ...if you decide to declare it

I haven't gone to Costco for glasses but both of the local ophthalmologists - Dra Claudia above the IMNS office in Chapala and Dra Marianna at Quality Care - are very knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and offer a decent selection of glasses. I admit I hate driving to Guad so for me the choice is easy.
BUT....""From those with personal experience please."""

I guess I can not see the benefit of buying a Tesla in Mexico...unless you have significant discretionary money and want to impress your neighbor...I would not be impressed

I would describe Mario's in SA as a Cafe that serves BLand D... greasy food

I know of one vendor who has 8 dogs, please don't tell me that they never come inside the house, kitchen area. It's a gamble, like going to a Potluck, your favorite dish can be prepared in a household with 2/3 cats running around. But I am a risk taker so enjoy anyone's Potluck. The Tuesday market I stay away from because the prices are too high for me, and the "organic" vegs are a joke mostly a bunch of shriveled up pathetic examples of vegetables which Walmart or Pancho would toss out...but if that's your thing good luck

The TUESDAY Market inspects their VENDOR'S operations on a regular basis. No one inspects the kitchens of the folks selling food from their truck or at the corner of the street. I'm just sayin'....
So you are confirming that "they" do have a special group of "kitchen police", remarkable considering many of the vendors do not live in the Lakeside area

Melly at the Tuesday Market makes wonderful tamales with several variations of both chicken and pork. The Market is very strict with it's vendors so you know her kitchen is spotless. I will try to get her phone# and see if she is at the Monday Market as well if you want.
Realy, do they have kitchen police to check out every ones kitchen..baloney

Though I've lived in Chapala and Ajijic for 12 years, it wasn't until about three days ago that I got a rash from taking a shower. After about 10-15 minutes exposure to the (unfiltered) shower water, I notice an itching in the pit of my elbows and knees, and around the ankles. There are red spots in these areas. Both the itching and the spots disappear quickly after drying off. I'm wondering what is in the water that is causing this: a chemical compound, parasite...? I'm living in Chapala in the vicinity of Electristas, between Soriana and Nuevo Chapala.
What's your experience?
Does anyone else in your house experience the same problem???

Polyps are easy to extract but what if you find a tumor or something worse?
I think your age determines what any follow up treatment should been. Remember sometimes the treatment can be worse than the problem...What age group are we talking about?

Take your friendly cel phone and use the translate app...solves 90% of your problems any time and place

In the US ,For certain medical procedures there's a age sensitiive invasive cut off date. For example anyone 85years and older with Prostate problems will be treated with pills. I think colonoscopy examination only has a certain value, so what if you find polyps...?

KaM , if you have worked HH care you will appreciate more than others the need for additional help. Is there a hospice care locally available?
Your offer of assistance should be the clareon call for those other side liners to give their time or money to solve Fred's challenge
Stop the pontificating and get involved
