Actually if it was Juan who cleaned your teeth, he is not a dentist. He is a student and does not have a licence to practice anything yet. Be careful

Need help to find paint store with color matching machine
Guiness replied to Marlayne's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Prisa are the very best for matching colours. No machine, they do it all by hand. Always excellently matched! -
Check out Quick Blinds in the Super Lake plaza. They have a contact from Guadalajara who do excellent work. We are thrilled with their work and prices.

Another vote for Dr. Daniel at Quality Care. Excellent doctor, great care and knowledge.

No, you need to be a resident at the Racquet Club or have a friend give you a "pass". It is not open to the public

We have lived in CH for the past 9 years. We love it here. The rules etc are put into place to assist residents against things like "an auto shop opening up next door, screaming loud music all night, etc. We find it very peaceful, tranquil and lovely. Many of us wouldn't live anywhere else Lakeside. We don't get the "walking traffic", we are a eco community with tons of colorful birds. We have a active security guard who travels the Fracc all day, every day and he is our extra eyes and ears. We also have a large amount of security cameras located throughout our Fracc. We are a large community, growing everyday - lots of new building going on here. Being a 5 minute drive to Sorianna and Chapala and a 8 minute drive down the libra to Walmart and not to mention only a 25 minute ride to the Guadalajara airport, Chapala |Haciendas is fast becoming the "new central location! Yes, the ground moves some, but it does all over Lakeside. I hope this gives you some insight about our lovely community.

Bone Voyage Dog Rescue
Guiness replied to nothernewbie's topic in Let's Talk About our Furry and Feathered Friends
I know the Dog Ranch here under the direction of Syd Sullins also sends dogs north for adoption. I believe there is also another group - Happy Tails here as well that does the same. I have not heard of BonVoyage - are they a new group? Thank you to all of you who do so much to help our homeless furry friends find homes. Sure beats the alternative of a life on the street starving to death!! Great Job!! -
Can any locals help with current information?
Guiness replied to lynski's topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Agree with the above posts. We have lived here just over 8 years and although the crime activity has increased this past year, keep in mind that it always seems to when we have a government change! Gets a little rocky for a time then all quiets down again. It is something you just have to get use to and relax with. It 's just how it is in this country. Like it or not. We feel very safe here - well, then again I guess everybody feels safe until they don't. Do your research and remember that there is no perfect place on this planet, but this is as close to perfect (for us) as we can find. -
BEST LAD - by far the "best".. Owner Fransisco and Gabby are amazing. I highly recommend them. Stay away from GO LAB in Maskaras Plaza. Had two tests done that were both "very wrong".

Thanks for the great info . We too always loved the place.............living in Chapala Haciendas, this will be our go to place once again. So happy to read this.

Does anyone know anything about Dr.Christina at Leed Dental - they are located beside Quality Care?
-
I totally get that. Same thing happened to me twice down here. |I have spinal stenosis and was told I would be in a wheelchair if I didn't get a 3 level spinal fusion immediately!! I ran (well, limped) away as fast as I could. Now, after a year of continual physical therapy and daily exercise I am still "not in a wheel chair!" Guess we will always be "the wallets" here. Arghhh.

To have a doctor as qualified as Dr. Santiago answer so many questions and offer so many medical opinions is of great value. Why would anyone object? Thanks Dr. Santiago for your help. And, I do not use Dr. Santiago services but do appreciate his dedication. Wookie, do you feel the same when Spencer McMillan posts?? Just wondering!

DESPERATELY NEED TRUE JARDINERO
Guiness replied to Wait. What?'s topic in Ajijic/Chapala/Guadalajara
Most of them here are just that. Yard handymen. They will do what you ask but most won't take initiative on their own. Our gardener has been with us for 6 years now and is good. We have taught him the difference between a weed and a plant, have taken time to show him how to propertly prune, trim, fertilize (schedule posted in bodega), etc. When we first bought our home he was the gardener here for over 12 years - doing a terrible job. But, with patience, work and time he has become a cherished employee and someone we trust completely. He loves it when guests comment on what a beautiful yard we have - we chuckle and remember back. Win, Win.
