I had to buy my konjac via MercadoLibre so if you find it locally, please post it!
An internet search said it was at Walmart Chapala so it`s worth checking there.

Where can I get konnyaku or konjac starch in Chapala? This would probably be in the form of noodles. Gracias.

Need a very ordinary used 4-drawer (wood) dresser. So far (Riberas, AJijic and FB) priced out of sight! To those who live or shop in Chapala... are there any there? Gracias in advance
I live in Chapala. There are no second hand shops in Chapala. There was one nice one on Morelos for many years but it went out of business a year or more ago.

Can't remember off the top of my head and I shredded all bills of this nature in my New Year clean out. Give them a call and get a quote. It's going to depend on the size of your aljibe anyway... also whether there are tree roots and/or if it needs parging.
Unfortunately, their site says "permanently closed". Do you think it might have been under 2,000 pesos?

I used JP Home Services to clean my aljibe. More than one person came which, I think, is important for safety reasons. Drained, cleaned, parged and then filled. Still clean and doesn't leak. I drop a couple of small tabs of chlorine into it every month and I only use my aljibe for emergency water.
What did they charge, if I may ask?

New thread to report and recommend.
Aljibe portion: Before you ask..... 4 ft W x 11 ft L x 9 ft deep.
Via local Mexican connections found Daniel Enciso cell 331 344 3806 , jefe at main San Antonio pozo (well). Came Wednesday 9 a.m. to insert submersible pump. Back at 2:30 with BIG pressure sprayer machine and a helper. Down there until 5 pm, pumping out rest of water & guck from bottom and cleaning/inspecting walls. Also found 5- gal pailful of tree roots invading (from outside our wall). Luckily entered above aljibe "wall" so no cracks (he inspected carefully). Cut off roots at source.
What did he charge, if I may ask?

Does anyone know where a list of restaurants that deliver in Chapala-Ajijic is online?

MC, in Chapala, Totalplay put up its cables on my street months ago so installation was just running a cable to the house. My TotalPlay is running at about 35 mbps according to 5 internet speed programs. I am supposed to be getting 100mbps. But the speed I`m getting gives me uninterrupted streaming (no whirling green circles) and all websites come up pretty fast and there has only been 2 very brief interruptions in service in a month (at least one a day up to several hours with Telmex) so I`m perfectly satisfied. I may get around to calling them about the discrepancy in internet speeds or I may not that`s how satisfied I am.

Do you have a phone number for an excellent roofing/ceiling repair guy (some English is good)? I have a leak in the house. Thanks.

What are you putting in their envelope?

After 10 years here with cohetes going off every few days, I`ve realized there is no point in asking "Why?". Could be a birthday, another type of gathering, couple of guys sitting in their car late at night just setting them off, some guy down at the lake ripping a few or it could actually, as the cultural explanation goes, be a fiesta. At first, I went crazy, asking everyone "Why?" and getting angry each time ("How dare they disrupt my peace?"). The Mexican always just shrugged their shoulders, like "yeah, so what, what can you do about it?". Now, cohetes are just part of my landscape. My aural mind has evolved. But I don`t have dogs or cats so I don`t have that predicament and it must be pretty awful. So, unless you want to do battle with the priests, and you know the cops won`t do anything and the neighbors won`t do anything, you`re going to have to find a solution for yourself and your dogs.

There is a battery store in Chapala on Lopez Cotilla midblock between the Avenue and Juarez on the south side of the street. Little place. They`ve always had batteries for my watches but I don`t know if they have CR2016 batteries.

Which vaccine brands are being administered in Chapala? Does one have a choice? Can one choose Pfizer? Are vaccines available in a doctor`s office at this point?

There is no government hospital in Chapala. Possibly in the future as it was a campaign promise of the newly elected mayor.
The federal website lists hospital occupancy as of July 30 Jalisco at 53.34% and beds with ventilators at 39.70%
Shows Jocotepec at general occupancy of 60% and zero on ventilators on July 30
Maps of hospitals beds with ventilator occupation as of July 30 below
Thanks, ML.

Does anyone know the hospital room occupancy percentages in Chapala municipality? Are we at 50%, 70% ? I heard Jocotepec is at 100%. I see Puerta Vallarta is at 100%. Thanks.
