  1. Probably won`t do that, so if anyone else wants them, let me know and we`ll make a time for you to drop by.
  2. Best to drape it over a wall, soak it, brush it with soapy water, rinse it and let dry.
  3. I mistakenly bought 2 3" x 21" 120 grit sanding belts. Don`t want to throw them away. They`re yours for the taking. I`m in Chapala.
  4. Anyone know where to buy MiracleGro lakeside, not Guad? Please, do not post opinions about MiracleGro, I am only looking for places that sell it. Thanks.
  5. Much easier to go to the huge, 2 story art store in Guad called Lumex that has everything you could want. It is 3-4 blocks from the cathedral in Centro. Look it up in Google. You can take a bus from the Chapala bus station on Miguel Martinez that goes to the central Guad bus station. Then you take a taxi to Lumen if the driver knows the place or to the cathedral.
  6. When you to Banamex to pay for your check to give to the consulate person, they ask for a second ID (other than the expired passport). But they will not tell you which other kind of ID they will accept. It was simpler for me to go to Spencer McMullin, give him my passport photo and have him do everything.
  7. I`ve taken in many male garments to the cooperative on Ramon Corona kitty corner from LCS and had them made beautifully.
  8. Or is the rainy season due to a particular weather formation (El Nino?) that comes this time of year and that sticks with us until late September/early October?
  9. Lexy, since it`s not customary as you know (his "many Americans do it" sounds like a falsehood), I think there`s too many ways this could fall apart, too many ways you could be hurt and be left hanging. Just doesn`t sound right to me. And, as others have said, you could lose a LOT of money if things are not as they appear or as he says they are. Do you trust him?
  10. I cannot answer your questions about ID since the young woman at Banamex would not clarify which IDs she would accept. You might try going to Banamex and asking one of the cajeros yourself.
  11. Yes, this was for everything (except the cost of the passport pictures).
  12. Banamex wouldn`t make me a check to pay the renewed passport fee because I didn`t have picture ID other than the expired passport. A short round-the-corner trip to Spencer McMullin solved everything - gave him my old passport, 2 pictures and his fee and voila! I will have a new passport in 2 weeks. Could have saved having to have done a bevy of other tasks and the resulting months of procrastination.
  13. I know the dowels there well. They have 1/2", 3/4", 1", rarely 3/8". Rough, need a lot of sanding. 3 meters.
  14. My topic recently was "quarter inch wooddowels". Good discussion of dowels in general.
  15. Has anyone figured out how to convert the Spanish windows 8 control panel to English? Wanna share? Or does the whole operating system have to be reinstalled as an English operating system? Is that expensive?
  16. And I guess you think this is humorous? What a nasty, bigoted, homophobic thing to say! And the picture you included, what exactly is this supposed to portray? Greg Weeks, perhaps now you understand why there is no well-known place for gay men to socialize? There are many hateful, bigoted people from the North who have come down to Mexico and perpetuate their homophobia. And they often make their sick beliefs publicly known to others.
  17. According to the article, some see "lawless, chaotic, messy, noisy, dirty and dangerous" and others see the "warmth and generosity of the Mexican people, the sense of community in the village where every Sunday afternoon is a spontaneous gathering with the park benches full and children of all ages playing in the plaza". It`s amazing we`re actually the same species. The article reported that at least some of those who see only "lawless, chaotic, messy, noisy, dirty and dangerous" have returned to the land where, supposedly, it is not those things. Wonder where that is? In any event, I`m awfu
  18. Helpful, so as to recognize from somewhat of a distance, would be color of camera and size, did it have a lens on it, etc. ........
  19. AT&T indeed has an office in the Laguna Mall. One needs to have a permanente and sign up for a 2 year lease. I think their price quoted me (sorry for lack of perfect memory on this) was $399p per month.
  20. I know this is no biggie, costs 60p, but I don`t want to throw it away, if possible. Free! I`m in Chapala.
