  1. Sounds good - did you have your eyebrows done in Ajijic - I certainly wouldn't want them to look ridiculous or conspicuous.
  2. Does anyone know why they are digging up a large section of the Carretera where the bicycle path is between Revolution and the Libriamento? Are they laying new pipes or cables or what? Any timeline for completion of whatever it is?
  3. I know this may be a boring subject but come on guys - somebody out there must know of a water heater repair man - pretty please and thank you.
  4. We have a very temperamental water heater with a mind of its own. Can somebody please recommend a person to fix it? Thanks.
  5. Thanks everybody - all is well, Vonage was working this morning so it was probably a Telmex issue.
  6. We tried that but no lights flash - how long do we need to hold the pin in the hole, please?
  7. We have an internet connection but the red light on the Vonage box is blinking and the phone is not working. We can make connections to some websites but not all. Any suggestions, please?
  8. Still no line-up at 9.00 am at Libramiento
  9. Oh, boo hoo - it's all relative, isn't it. The windchill in Toronto overnight this weekend is expected to be -30C (-22F). At least we can get out here for a lovely walk with a sweater on, which we certainly couldn't do in Toronto - it would be hibernation time for us. Let's enjoy it here.
  10. Our friends have not been able to use their VERY GOOD tickets this year for family reasons, so their tickets are available. They can offer a reduced price if more than one concert is taken. Please phone Chris at 766-1581. Tuesday February 12 – Richard Underhill Quartet - in the Auditorio – value $600 pesos each (2). Sunday February 17 – For the love of Opera – in the Auditorio – value $600 pesos each (2). Tuesday February 19 – Bach: An Invitation with David Fung – in the Auditorio – value $600 pesos each (2). Thursday February 21 – The Soul of Cabaret – with Patricia O’Callaghan and Bryce Kulak - value $600 pesos each (2). Saturday February 23 – Closing Night - in the Auditorio – value $600 pesos each.
  11. As I understand it, it's illegal to Fedex it over the border. And it's definitely illegal to cross the border with it.
  12. I used to eat barley and then read that quinoa was more healthy, so I switched over although I actually prefer the taste of barley. But if you can find organic or mixed quinoa (red, black and white) it's actually pretty tasty as long as you prepare it properly.
  13. Thank you for excellent input. I'm now back at Lakeside and here's an update. On August 28 I began taking cannabis oil and by my return on October 16 (with a dosage of 2 ml twice a day) I unfortunately had got no relief from my pain. After so many good reports from people, I was really disappointed especially since I've been living with chronic pain for over 3 years and it's really wearing me down. So what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for others. Back to the drawing board - damn it !!
  14. Well you guys don't know how to cook quinoa. Simmer it for about 20 minutes with chicken broth or consomme, and then add black ground pepper, a little salt and mixed herbs - and voila, you have a tasty nutritious side dish that you can have instead of potatoes or be added to salads. Don't judge it by its appearance.
  15. Thanks to all. I did want to find some locally so I will definitely check back with the Granero lady.
  16. I found white Quinoa in bulk on the Carretera next to Gossips but it was rather bland. I'm looking for something more interesting and tasty like mixed or red quinoa. I did find small pre-packaged quinoa in SuperLake but it was too expensive. Does anyone know where I can find some, please?
  17. Thank you for the website. Have you ordered from them and is there any English translation? Rony says it costs $3,500 pesos - sounds pretty rich. Does this include shipping and how long does it take to arrive?
  18. Wow, 3 months is a long wait. How did you select a supplier and what were the prices like? If it can be ordered from the U.S. you'd think I could get it from Canada as well. Thanks.
  19. Many thanks, WideSky. I'm not on Facebook and don't want to be, so if there's another way to contact them it would be most helpful.
  20. Can you please tell me what FB is and how I join. Do you have any idea of prices?
  21. I have recently begun taking cannabis oil for pain control and feel that it's beginning to help. It's legal in Canada and also in Mexico but illegal to take it across the border. Can someone please let me know if I can get a prescription from my local GP in Ajijic and where I can buy the oil, including the 1:1 drops which is equal amounts of CBD and THC. Is there an online supplier in Mexico the same as in Canada? Obviously I want to be sure I'm buying good quality, safe cannabis. Any info would be much appreciated and serious replies only, please.
  22. Yes, I am sorry for being MIA - life gets in the way sometimes and we can't always respond in a timely fashion. It wasn't my intention to ask for free legal advice but realize it may have looked that way. Probably not knowing how the he system works and asking for advice can backfire but I do thank everyone who gave helpful and thoughtful comments and information.
  23. Spencer, could you please step in here and let me know the situation. Thanks. You do not need to be Temporal before becoming Permanente. You may apply for it directly from a Consulate outside of Mexico. You will be approved as long as you can prove income requirements. If income is joint, you will need to show original marriage certificate and it will possibly need an Apostille. This is not guess work on my part. The information is directly from Immigration as well as an attorney here.
