Dr Lastra was a fine doctor and a great guy. He practically saved my life. I have heard that one of his daughters is doing her year "residency" with the Red Cross in Chapala and the other is in PV.

I am seeking someone who will refinish a piece of furniture. It will be necessary to work with veneer to patch or cover the separated area. Has anyone heard of a worker in veneer and refinishing of wood furniture?

My big guy is 16 years old and has spent all that time with chest portion facing direct sun ( 3 different houses) so is self-destructing on front side. Bought this one in Riberas but that store is long gone. Checked out the guy near Ajijic tianguis on the carretera but his stuff is horrid.
Haven't been to Tonala in 20 years so guessing it won't be at all like I remember.... nor will the be way to get there. 🙃Does anyone have a good suggestion, and maybe a web site, I can check out first? I have a picture but can't figure out how to load it here so Ferret is being kind enough to do that for me later.
Present one is 41 inches (1 + m.) from top of head to tip of tail.... hanger not included. Needs to be this size again and requires hanger, not standing perch.
Gracias in advance.
Natasha, i just came down the Caraterra and saw the man with a canopy selling these paper mache birds at 1:00 today, Saturday. He is on the lake side of the road near the glorietta in La Foresta.

Natasha, why don't you find a local artist to repaint the front of this McCaw? Then they could apply a sun resistant clear coat.

Happy New Year to you both.
Since I was 20 years old until now world population has doubled. There are billions crowded into cities in close proximity to each other. That has to have some impact if what they taught us in basic biology classes is correct.
The good news is this virus, though artificially created, seems to be following the usual path of becoming less dangerous with subsequent evolutions. So maybe it won't take four years to get out of this mess.
We are fortunate to live here with plentiful sunshine, fresh air and mild temperatures. As a result we are less likely to be in close quarters/crowds long enough to catch covid.
It is so great to be living in Mexico! Of the fairly numerous places I've lived, this is by far the best. There's a great reason for a Happy New Year right there.
Good post, thanks. Africa the US and Europe, have now downloaded Corona Cov3.0 I hope we are seeing the weakening of this vicious killer. I could gladly skip the updates.

We save them as well. The spouse takes them to the Tuesday Market at La Huerta. Everyone leaves them on the ledge as they enter and the several folks with eggs take them away to fill them.

I can't grasp how this digital currency stuff works at all. But some of the early "investors" have made huge gains.
Seems crazy to me but then again very few countries base their money on tangible assets.
BitCoin is up 58% YTD, but I don't have any.

Yes Jaime at ViLuMa will replace one door panel or rebuild it. He has done several of mine over the years.

I'm looking for Borax to treat the clay that just washed in with the flood. The new layer of clay is water impervious and cracking in the sun.
Let me know where to find it if you've seen Borax.

"Certain criteria apply, and we encourage U.S. citizens to confirm their eligibility for traveling on an expired passport."

Bridge II in Laredo at mid-day 2 hours and 50 minutes wait. All six lanes open.
Advisory on Internet said 2 hour wait for Bridge II. (170 actual minutes to go less than one mile.)
"Infrastructure spending" surely will make use of unused acres of ground and expand to 12 lanes of entry, or 24 lanes of entry not six lanes for Bridge II.
The highest sin and compelling worry is carbon recapture, burning fossil fuel waiting in line for 170 minutes.
Almost makes the extra 20 miles to Columbia with no wait worth it, doesn't it.

Email Express VPN tell them your suspicions and they will recommend a new location. Last time I had a problem they told me to switch to San Francisco

I saw one last month or so at Costco. There is an outdoor furniture store further north on Colima Hwy Lopez Mateos on the right (east) before Lazaro Cardenas where I have seen them in the past.

You can not "port" a US number to Mexico.
If you need an option for bank confirmations Tmobile has a plan for $3.00 per month. The texts can be received in Mexico for 50 cents each. You will also need a cell that that is 4G LTE for it to work. You won't find the plan on Tmobile's site. You will need to buy the chip from a reseller at about $50 one time. Search $3 pay as you go tmobile in Ebay
Thanks for the info, I'm paying more than that. I will change T-mobile plan this week.

I'm looking for input from those with experience porting (permanently retaining - moving) a US cell phone number so calls ring on a Mexican cell phone. Company used - quality, can be used for ID verification, etc.
Some companies I've looked at; OpenPhone, CallCentric, (Magic Jack?). Another similar service is Google Voice but apparently one needs to be physically in the US to port the number.
I have been here for 22 years and looked for years for a way to do just that. It can't be done. My solution is to keep a cell on T-mobile in the USA that is prepaid (cheapest plan I could find) and cost less than $100 a year. I have had a Mexico ATT phone. for years I had them in a dual sim phone. Either sim would make or receive a call. Recently I have moved the US sim to a new older phone that just stays powered off in a drawer in my desk until I need to receive a code. There were a few companies that would receive a text and forward it quickly to your computer but somehow the banks would figure that out and not use that number.

Thinking of buying an LG fridge but have heard that parts and service can be problematic here at Lakeside. Has anyone had that experience? Thanks in advance.
We can get parts and service on the LG from Costco. The ice maker stays jammed up. Other than that it has been good.

If the motorcyclists would follow the rules of the road these accidents would not be so commonplace. One wonders how many actually have a license or know enough traffic laws to pass the test.
If the police here would enforce the traffic laws with motorcycles and scooters it would save lives, but there is no personal profit in citing poor scooter riders so too many of them get killed.
