  1. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions you can give regarding Ad Blockers. I am getting alot of ads interrupting things I watch or listen to on You tube. I had the laptop overhauled with a new hard drive so starting from scratch. I have the newest version of Windows 10. Computer is MSI A 5000.
  2. This has been a very relevant thread for me as I exited and returned in January of this year and I found the process confusing and disconcerting. At the GDL airport, I obtained the form, and an agent partially filled it out for me and some things weren't correct, so I fixed them. I was flying GDL to TJ which is a national flight and then used the CBX bridge.I could find no one to process the paperwork. I was told to just turn it in on the way back in which I did and my passport was stamped and he seemed to know what to do. But the whole process at different borders has not been consistent. I am RT with a work permit and do not wish to lose the status as 1 1/2 more years and I will gain a permanente. I'm going to try to find this office and make an effort before entering the USA. I believe it is the best thing to do. I just may go in there tomorrow to INM and double check for advice.
  3. If you put the powder in water it dissolves and does not have a bad taste. I have NOW brand powder.
  4. DUMP HSBC.. they are crazy-making on many levels. Here and in Guadalajara.
  5. You might look up David Watley through Timothy Ruff Welch. He'd be very good for that number.
  6. Does anyone know if the CFE bills will be delivered in the next 2 days? If not I guess I must go to CFE and put some credit onto my account as I will be away and don't want to trouble the housesitter.
  7. It simply means that the group doing the show/presentation takes turns playing a song, giving the song a little intro, saying why they like it. I believe the term began in nashville. oh, and by the way, i'm never insulted if folks don't like me using lower case to chat on posts and the like. i have to be so perfect in the classroom, that i go very slack on these social media things.
  8. don't worry... this board is always snarky, take it or leave it. i use it maybe 1 or 2x a year if i really need an answer to something, as for example Rick is always smart on car talk. There are the smart, mature ones. When i see myself sliding into an online dispute over some crap, i know it is time for me to let go and reframe myself and stay the hell off the web board. some people never leave the house, and love this venue for the arm chair know it all forum it provides them. all day every day....and really you can't blame some folks who are generally positive for getting annoyed by these "chrons" who are always off topic and say useless things.
  9. Clear! Saturdays 3-5pm 60 pesos in exact change. Thanks!
  10. bd is a real good friend of mine. He referenced it to Monday night(implied because El Patio is the Thursday night) which mine used to be for years, but it has been changed to Friday night since he dropped out of the scene. sometime in 2018. thank you.
  11. wow... i haven't been on the webboard in two months of sundays...but today my neighbor turned me on to postings on a new violinist and comedy improv workshops.INTERESTED!!!!and then you start plowing thru all the creepy negative bullshit on here. this is why i have stayed off. what was the original post? oh i already fricking forgot as i was buriED in a mudslide of crap.
  12. As an English teacher and student of spanish, i welcome corrections. good for learning, gobble up the learning. I got Amber's" improv-ing"...that how i woulda spelled it. see" woulda",very casual blended speech.no don't kill me for it!!!! But the real subject is a comedy improv workshop which i want to go to and so sorry i missed the first one. Please inform if there was sufficient interest for it to continue. I want this skill! Teresa
  13. I went thru that way in January this year. No place to check out of the country, but I did check back in correctly when i came thru the CBX and way back to GDL. no problems but it did scare me that there was no place to "check out". I tried several places, they refused. It was confusing and made me worry as i have a work permit that cannot be cancelled or you start over. That means all the years of work don't count toward permanente and you have to pay all fees and do paperwork as if you never had that visa. Thankfully, no problems.
  14. Hello: BDmowers was a little off on the Chapala open mics. yes the El Patio is on Thursday but my Open Mic which is more in a coffeehouse setting is on Friday at Historica Buenos Ayres Cafe, corner of Morelos and Zaragoza a few blocks before American Legion, same side of street. This Friday, we have open mic from 6-7pm and a special show from 7-8 where James Martin and I are playing country songs in the round. You should come and check us out. it would be great to have a fiddle player around. also you can go on the following sites to see what's up in the entertainment listings. Facebook: Lakeside Open Mics Lakeside and Ajijic Entertainment, a great listing by Sharon Stavrof(SP?) Teresa Trigiani-vocalist/guitarist/hostess of open mic/student of jazz
  15. Thank you Rick. I appreciate that you responded, and I suppose it is going to be a question for the lawyers. I usually don't hire them, nothing against them, but I'm a DYI, usually.
  16. I posted in what I thought was the appropriate forum for a question about having to report a title change and new plates from a different state than you imported the car with. Not getting much feedback or attention, so posting it here as well to refer you to more extensive explanation in the Customs and Immigration forum. Thanks. Virgogirl.
  17. You may want to get the Constancia de Domicilio to prove your address. this is what i used when i got the license. you go to the president's building on second floor with 50 pesos and your photographs. they need your CFE bill. we were told they required this and that the CFE bill wouldn't suffice. we also investigated Ocotlan and found out they love to fail you so they can gain mordida. some things are hearsay , we just decided to do the most official and that was go to GDL. call ahead . we went on day and they happened to be closed. not a holiday either.
  18. Last month I read in the GDL Reporter that the law changed (or is being better enforced perhaps) over expired plates on foreign vehicles. My South Dakota plates are currently on their way in the mail. Even though my insurance company still doesn't care if they are expired, and even though they have said time and again that they do not use expired plates as an excuse for not paying out an accident, I do believe the transitos are looking things over in a different way as you see them set up over motorcycles issues currently. Frequently set up near Laguna Centro. So after getting legal, I have changed my title to a di9fferent state, and plates as well,, namely South Dakota. Do I need to take a copy of my new title to the Aduana.? My friend is also getting the plates and her lawyer told her that everything goes by VIN number so no need to inform the Aduana. Somehow, it didn't seem right to me, so looking further into issue. 2nd question, last time I was at the Aduana at the airport, they told me all further renewals of my RT_Permiso para Trabajar do not require me to report to Aduana as the INM and Aduana are now connected and they will get my renewal by internet, so no need to come out there as I have done 2 years in a row. I appreciate all intelligent and topic related feedback. Thanks.
  19. no worries now alex called...he said someone on the web board notified him i wasn't reaching him and thank you whoever you are as that worked. he responded. all is well. happy new year to all.
  20. Hello! I know some of you know Alex. I booked him for a ride to the airport tonight at 730. I have tried every method of contacting him since 12:30 this afternoon just to confirm with no replies. Doesn't answer phone. I thought maybe he's driving and can't answer phone. But if something happened, then i need to scramble for another driver. The number i have for him is 33 3577 7765 and i ndo have his rapidpack email. thank you...maybe someone knows what he's up to today
  21. Prasad next to Telmex has it and so does Walmart.
  22. Thanks to all who posted about Pancho's. What a nice thing to know there's a good grocery store in Riberas. I have used Abarottes del Pilar in a pinch as well as my local OXXO. but of course it's very limited. I'm going to check this out!!! Alfa, why get your undies in a bundle. Folks in Riberas will be happy to see a close grocery option. Maybe go over there, have a beer and chill???
  23. You can buy a good esmalte-oil based paint and it will work well with the primers mentioned. Go COMEX or SAYER. Get the expensive stuff. I once tried Wamart and it was worse than a bad joke.
  24. Hello SunshineyDay: the email is fbu.guadalajara@ssa.gov. The first thing you do is let them know what you want. I made the mistake of wanting to change address as well as remove medicare. when one thing is attached to the other, thenwhatever is lacking will hold up the process. it's because i work that it spurred me to fill more forms. when you write to them, and are processing things, do only one thing at a time, and keep it all on the same thread. you cannot break from that. in other words as you go along with them, never start a new email. i had no face to face contact. they want to do these things by email. I am running into a second problem. I cannot make an account with "MY Social Security". This allows you to see what is going on with your account. I kept getting kicked out and i feel i put the correct mailing address and phone number that i had when i signed up. I tried to call a GDL number today, but all i got was a fax machine. Does anyone have workable numbers for the office in GDL?
