  1. City Express is perfect, clean, always rooms available as far as we have found and not very far away from the Aeropuerto.
  2. That was priceless, but not so much for the OP! You could not make that kind of &^%$ up!!! Glad it is OFF the list!
  3. I MUCH prefer the smaller grocery stores, like El Torito and occasionally Super Lake, and of course all the little markets around town for fresh produce. Going back up north for the summer and the food seems so much LESS fresh! Mexico has the best sun ripened produce in all the Americas!!!
  4. Can hardly wait to get down to see it in person.... nice pictures!!!
  5. I took a pic of a boy and his dad coming back from a RATHER successful fishing in the lake and the fish is RATHER large, how do I post it?
  6. The top floors appear to have no windows at all... that seems odd... We need to have a lottery of all the guesses
  7. I think there is a Dry Cleaner in West Ajijic.... but does anyone know of any other ones, in maybe San Antonio or just closer to "downtown" Ajijic??? THANKS
  8. I did not post those posts, I have been offline for a few days..... ???? Not sure what went on, just came back today to check the forum... I do have something to add... that Accident across from Pranzo's was a friend of ours, a very lovely man who lived up in Upper La Floresta, in his 80's. The vehicle that hit him was going through a red light, he was crossing the road on a green light. He was a high school teacher and adored Mexico. He had just left the Plaza where we were all having coffee.. there is a very nice little "shrine" in his honour just west of the lights on the high side. And yes it was a hit and run. PLease be so very careful when crossing the Careterra.... green does not always mean it is safe.. you truly need eyes in the back of your head. His loss is immense.
  9. We witnessed a motorcycle accident today and the rider was sent flying to the cobblestones. Ambulances and the police arrived after some very caring people attended the injured young man. I won't make any specific observations of this particular accident but I must say that those who ride those things make some very frightening decisions in order to "beat the clock". I am not sure that many of these riders know the rules of the road in order to not have some unsuspecting driver ram into them as they appear from what seems like "nowhere". Many certainly do not follow the rules of the road and this is terrible for those who do and are not expecting someone to be where they are not supposed to be. There must be a way for two wheeled riders to be compelled to take some lessons and to know they will be facing serious fines for not adhering to the rules of the road. Most often it is the rider who pays the price in these collisions, but those who are part of these accidents all suffer one way or another, and innocent pedestrians are harmed. I hope today's young man is able to recover, his motorcycle will not. And those who inadvertently ran into him have that memory to run around in their heads. Fortunately the two young boys and their mom nearby had not yet entered their path. Scary stuff.
  10. THE BEST PRODUCTION ON THAT STAGE!! And all the others were excellent too, but this one tops the list!

  12. We attended on Sunday to watch the dancing horses, who once they arrived and found their music were very lovely. Those horses put their little hearts into focussing on what they are doing. The rest was fun to wander around, this was about the 5th year we have attended and found that so many things were duplicated. If I was to critique I would suggest some "new blood"... some kind of big draw for each day that defies refusal to attend! It was a long walk for those with canes and older legs and lungs, but I cannot think of a better spot. Good parking and lots of space for the different venues. As usual I wonder why they do not sell more chilli apart from the Chilli dogs..
  13. They seem to do a lot of racing west on the carreterra....
  14. Thought I heard they have a little sting too... might be a different kind... ???
  15. Does anyone know how to spell CILITRO, the damage that seems to occur and re-occur in our Casas?
