  1. Congodog, I, too, am on the younger side of "senior". Ron will adjust the workout to achieve the goals the client wants. His only agenda is to make clients fit and healthy. Call him, your friends won't be disappointed.
  2. We went on one of his tours as well, and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend it. He is very knowledgeable and a lot of fun.
  3. Part of the adventure of traveling to, and living in, another country is adapting to the culture and adjusting how one expects things to be done. The above posters are absolutely correct. It took me about a year to adjust and at times it was challenging. Now I find I'm happier and calmer than I've ever been. I've learned a lot about how to live life from my adopted country and my Mexican friends. I'm sure the job will get done and you'll be happy with the results, it will just be slower going than you might expect.
  4. The assessment that things are not being done to my satisfaction is correct, and I appreciate the input. Indeed I may need to change his arrangement to a "per job". He is dawdling and socializing. It takes him twice the amount of time it takes me to do the raking and that's with a his helper. So we will be having a discussion next week.
  5. I have a gardener that I pay for 4 hours of work.Recently he's started bringing his cousin to help him and pays him himself. My problem is that they work very slowly and talk a lot and after 3 hours my gardener says he's done. When I question him about the fact that we pay him for 4 hour work, he says "but I have my cousin so I'm done" There is more that could be done. My question is, legally do I have the right to insist he work 4 hours? He brings his cousin and the spend 3 hours raking a yard I could rake myself in an hour and a half. I told him he could bring is cousin if he wanted but I wasn't paying for his cousin. Except now it feels like I am. I'm interested in other's experiences and what the law says about this kind of thing.
  6. Soooo, was it good? What does "interesting" mean in this context. Our old favorite, Toscana, has gone seriously downhill and we are looking for a new pizza place.
  7. I really miss the frozen pie crusts I used in the States. Any chance anyone has ever come across them here?
  8. "Agreed. I feel lucky too. A couple are well-trained. Two are intelligent. Several are obedient. Do all the qualities come together in one dog? Hmm. Rarely." Sea, your comment could just as easily be applied to spouses, which cracked me up.
  9. ISO a good videographer for about an hour on December 15th in the afternoon. May or may not need editing services. PM me if you are or know someone who can do this. It is for a Spiritual Wedding Ceremony. The only contact I had is unable to do it.

  11. Carol will be in the States until about mid January. She will play at El Patio when she is in town. They are indeed planning to split time between here and the States.
  12. There are a number of personal trainers here but only one that I know of who specializes in seniors. Seniors training is different than training you might have experienced in the past due to the necessity of avoiding injury. We train with Ron Krayewski at Super Senior Fitness. His facility in on the carratera in Ajijic. He offers group classes and private trainings as you wish. I highly recommend him and his facility. Contact him at 333 458 1980 for details and a consultation. He will be closed most of December as his daughter and fiance are visiting and getting married here. He will still make time to talk with you and set you up to start in January,
  13. A friend of mine recently lost a white siamese in Lower Riberas. She escaped while they were packing. If anyone finds her (she's super friendly) please let me know and I will come get her right away. Her name is China and no I don't have a picture. 3316956422 Thank you.
  14. We have two street cats adopted off the street when they were young. GREAT mousers! They kill bugs too. Downside is they kill lizards and birds as well.
