  1. Wonderful MC.... but that is not what I asked It's getting OFF the macrolibramiento and ON to Lopez Mateos going INTO Guad....... However, my husband has already pointed out to me that it will be the first major intersection of highways that I'll meet once I'm on it....... so will do a test run and see if time factor is worth it.
  2. Planning to try this to go to IMSS 180. I know how to get on macrolibramiento from the Chapala end. But paper today says NO SIGNS anywhere. So curious --- how did you know when you were far enough southwest on Lopez Mateos to get onto the macrolibramiento from the city end? Because I need to know where to get ON to (Lopez Mateos) coming from this end. I can tell from maps that the entrance is below Santa Cruz, and the intersection of Tala Highway - Av. Pedro Parra Centeno is above that, so once I get onto L.M. all will be well........ but since I never go to Costco, not very familiar with that end of the area. Suggestions? Many thanks
  3. Wondering if, when coming from the Chapala end, could there be an exit along that road somewhere that would make going to IMSS hospital 180 in Tlajomulco any easier? (go via Periferico at the moment)
  4. Appreciate all the responses. Am in contact with one of you and will be taking it from there. Gracias!
  5. I know this has been posted before but don't see where/how to search. Can anyone with actual user info please tell me about ROKU --- what is it? How does it work? What does it cost? Getting close to the last straw with Telecable, but not prepared to pay for Shaw. Thanks in advance.
  6. Not everyone can afford a front loader, and they must have a well-balanced place to be set up. Agree they're great..... but if you control the water levels, top loaders are good value for the price. And taking the time to manage soap levels carefully means less product used, and cleaners clothes after rinse cycle.
  7. While my experience re: Mi Casita is not totally personal, a good friend of mine (currently out of the country) had a friend who was in Mi Casita for a long period of time (before passing). She LOVED it there..... and my friend often commented she would like to live there herself! Also, while your parents are still able (if they are), the location so close to the plaza in San Antonio is a huge plus as far as giving them an outlet , if for no other reason, than to walk down to the plaza and "people-watch".
  8. I think I might have solved it myself! Signed out of my mail, and then closed the yahoo.com.mx page completely. Then opened a new tab and went to US Yahoo, and VOILA! -- was able to read the stories. OR..... just got lucky and really the issue is still with me..... sigh.
  9. If I understand the question (REALLY non-tech person).... I use Mozilla Firefox.
  10. After I sign out of Yahoo mail, my compu goes automatically to Yahoo.mex for the "news" page. That's as it has always been. But suddenly (about a week) if I go to (bookmarked) U S Yahoo news, the page comes up as it should but I can only read a few of the stories I click on. In the majority, instead of opening that "box", my compu bounces back to yahoo news.mx. Is there a setting or something I can use to fix this? (VERY- non-tech person here.... ) Appreciate any comments! Gracias
  11. Peter.... pay attention! More Liana LIVES in Mexico City so of course, for her it is a non-stop trip!
  12. Direct flights already exist from Toronto, if that's any help.
  13. Not in the summer you haven't! Only way I could have done that last July was by going to Calgary first, then Vancouver (and then on to Victoria) and vice-versa---- too many hours and too many $$$
  14. As seen on Mexico News Daily today, Interjet has started year-round service from Vancouver to Mexico City and Cancun 4 days a week, with prices starting at $519 CAD. Getting from DF to Guad is a snap, and this lets one avoid all the hassle at U.S. airports! Starting March 14 and 15, Westjet is also staring 3 a week from Vancouver to Mexico City, and 3 also from Calgary to Mexico City. After April 29 they will fly daily service from both. No initial prices given.
  15. There are no guarantees in life, my friend.... but I DO watch Mexican news (from Guad and from Mexico City) every day, and read Informador on line each evening. Of course, there's always a degree of "fake news", but look at Mexico News Daily (English) on line for more info if you don't read Spanish.
  16. You can't sell a foreign-plated car here, so doubt you could sell the quads.
  17. I have renewed ever since first one expired in 2004, and that has never come up.
  18. Try the tire place on the west side of Hotel Perico on the libramiento. They recently were able to match a "Continental" tire I needed (damaged one on a tope, and that's what came as factory issue on my car). Took one day to get it. I suspect they can get nearly anything you want, and they were a much better price than the Goodyear place (where we usually get quotes).
  19. Let's not forget that the majority of these killings are turf wars between cartels and other gangs. So apart from being in wrong place/wrong time, if you use your smarts and avoid places you should not be, you'll be fine.
  20. Sent you a PM worth reading. Well, I tried, but it says you cannot receive messages.????? Call 766-3580 for valuable info.
  21. Ours are always sent via iShop, stopping at Laredo and coming by courier from there. Safer than Mx post office, and no customs hassle. Also solves problem with some US web sites who will not accept an order if your credit card does not have a US mailing address! (Yes, has happened to me.)
