  1. Thanks to all. Will be galvanized "quadrado" similar to Chapalence's ..... age of house, place to install, etc. all determining factors. Found what my guy will need locally, and length is great. Will use PVC for downspout, with short elbow at bottom to direct flow at an angle (needed in this situation). Appreciate quick responses from all.
  2. Thank you. I'm thinking prefab stuff here won't do the trick. And already thinking PVC for downspout.
  3. What kind of food? I'm not having any trouble and will call you or you can send me pm. You know who I am.
  4. I would call them eavestroughs, with downspout. Some people call them gutters. Whatever. Small portion of sightly slanted roof becomes a torrential waterfall onto inner (non-covered) patio. Have looked at 2 models at Casa de Plomero, but they seem kind of flimsy to me. However, with "cup hook" holders under bottom sides (made by herrero)and attached to wall they might be OK. Only need about 6 - 7 feet long (due to peculiarity of design). Thinking biggest size possible. If you have had this type of "thing" installed, please reply. Store-bought with supports? Herrero makes the whole thing? Kind of urgent but please, don't interfere if you have no experience here. Would know what to do in the north. We aren't there. 😉 Gracias!!
  5. Benno has not been here for ages. Luis and his assistant are excellent
  6. Well done!!! Common practice, as you well know my friend. Glad the extortionist got a taste of his own medicine.
  7. Oh yeah..... go there nearly every day. Four of them take turns..........
  8. huh?? You have to be present in person..... and they don't let "representatives" in the door with you either.
  9. Don't forget a few weeks ago when transformer somewhere between Joco and Guad (Morelia highway connection) was in a fire and it did that for many hours ........ west AJijic worse than upper, but affected all the way to Riberas or so. I finally disconnected everything in case of a surge (some protectors better than others in our house) and waited it out.
  10. would have helped if you had referenced FB right from the start you need to ask his question there maybe nobody on this board even looks at FB, or that particular section, nor knows this person?
  11. Nor me. As I said external application and flower heads only. Don't remember any sap either.... but this goes back nearly 21 years so.......
  12. Envy you. Dad refused to allow taking typing in high school..... when I could be better occupied learning LATIN (because French already in hand). All thru' university days with many papers to write, hunt and peck. Now maybe 7 digits on a good day...... with eyes on keyboard all the time. 😜
  13. I liked my rut too and had been in it a LOT earlier than you amiga maybe my need to type in Spanish very often is less than yours now find English keyboard a pain đŸ¤Ŗ
  14. why not just get a Spanish keyboard? I use one all the time
  15. agents aren't the ones who come to the scene insurance company sends reps it's on you to contact the insurance company (you'll be given 800 numbers etc) when I had a car stolen in Guad in 2010 in broad daylight on main street at 10:30 a.m. I incorrectly assumed calling local agent was the right thing to do WRONG not only did they not get involved, they didn't tell me it was on ME to report theft to company within 24 hours or lose my claim by some miracle I called company that evening to "check"..... and they sent someone out from Guad that same night to take the report needless to say don't use that agent any more (not named on your list)
  16. Yup.... and in many other states is just as drastic. Los Altos region of Jalisco on news other day showed hundreds of dead cattle, skin and bones, and land looking like the cracked floor of death valley becasue (1) ongoing severe drought conditions, and (2) no water in the wells and no way for cattlemen to get water to them. Many dams in many other states are nearly dry or totally so. One good rainy season won't be enough... but with luck will mitigate tragic circumstances to a degree. But nope..... no climate change going on.....☚ī¸
  17. Great medicinal powers too (external use)! Early 2000's got a VERY nasty cat bite.... nobody's fault... cat just terrified. Two deep bites into index finger right hand. Antibiotics weren't touching it...... swollen, red, and painful. Swelling and discoloration then showed up in thumb. Gardener-handyman saw me favouring my "paw". Inspected, grabbed me, dragged me over to plumbago in full bloom and took a great gob of flowers only off. Dragged me to kitchen door. "Put these in a small pot, bring to a boil, simmer a few minutes (result was a dark-looking "tea"), remove the flowers, and as soon as you can barely tolerate it, get that part of your hand immersed in it and keep it there for 10 minutes. Reheat a little if starts to cool, and do it at least 3 times a day. At least that pretty much what I thought he said, with his mix of Spanish and across-the-lake home town dialect..... and must have been close because in about a week totally healing....... no redness, pain, or sign of infection. And never left even a teensy scar.
  18. Then when you get to airport show his ticket to the reception "help" area person juts inside incoming doors. They will see it's been booked and will call for a wheelchair guy to come and get him. Depending on various things, guy will either stay, or say he'll be back in time for the next step (to the plane) from the gate. Be sure to give a nice tip......they can't count on many trips a day and get paid little or nothing (can't remember which).
  19. With the ever-increasing violence in Joco municipality these days you'd never catch me living there. But of course, to each their own.
