  1. Reminds me of the commercial on TV where the bank is being robbed and all the customers on the floor are looking at the bank guard and want to know why he isn't doing anything, he then states that he is only a "security monitor"...sounds similar to a "Certified Dental Technician"...No way he should touch a patient other than to welcome them...
  2. Here is the NY Times article on AMLO...Loves Venezuela and their dictator.. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/07/opinion/mexico-election-lopez-obrador.html
  3. We pay Telmex and CFE and Telecable at least a year in advance..Been doing it for several years..Never an issue, you can use a U.S. credit card at Telmex and IZZi, CFE requires to load the bills in their machine outside the office..There is usually a man there to help you use the machine for a few Peso tip..To many we know have had the bank or realtor screw up their payments...
  4. I travel back and forth 6+ times / year..Even when getting a red light NEVER an issue with any scripts, vitamins, pills..You will hear various 2nd hand accounts of confiscations. ec..Not an issue..
  5. my thoughts are..come down for your spring visit and get somewhat familiar with the various areas, +'s and -'s..Then build a plan for your move in a few years with your dad..and you both settle in together..
  6. There is no- way without some type of transmitters in you auto's this will work. I think you are confusing your positioning with Google maps or something similar. No wonder we did not get an explanation!!
  7. My guess is that they will last a couple of weeks unless the system is welded to a steel or iron structure...Very tempting to kids and Ladron's..
  8. Is there a gym in Chapala , plenty in Ajijic?
  9. The Barber Shop at the main intersection in Chapala has a high end FAX/Scan capability at the back of the shop..wheel-chair assessable but NOT a Internet Cafe..
  10. The "god" of VW;s is Ron Young in Chapala...Hands down..Across the highway from Soriana on the lateral. Just a little past Sorian's on the same side is a muffler repair shop who also knows their way around VW's..
  11. they both incorporate the 4 letters then your birth date and thena series of additional #'s and letters..there are differences between the CURP and RFC ID's//
  12. Car tag and Emissions test and sticker are Independent issues BUT both are required..Emissions test facility is OPEN for business as well as Zaragoza the street they are located on..
  13. massive line way out the door..an officer was handing a piece of paper that has to be filled out prior to reaching the counter..It requires the following info...Full name of owner, license plate #, CURP #, RFC #, email address. Since I did not have some of the info handy I took a hike and drove to the Emissions test facility on Zaragoza, the street is open and the shop is open and NO LINE..test completed in 15 minutes..Now will try the license office in the afternoon next week..
  14. Many still awaiting answers to their previous questions on pricing???
  15. Several of the help have quit due to the son-in-law and his overbearing methods and trying squeeze every centavo from diminished meals..My wife and I USED to be loyal customers but no more..We moved to Gaucheria and across the street..This guy well slowly kill what was a lucrative and good place for lunch..No more..
  16. Super Lake yesterday..Fresh by the bag in the right rear of the store just prior to the frozen foods..
  17. The Chapala site is impossible to get to due to street construction on Zaragoza..I tried yesterday..Looks like a week or more before the street is passable in either direction, it is one way South bound but I would try either way if I could get to the emission shop..
  18. Thank the folks at the Ranch for their compassion..I know how full they are but they always find a way. Unlike the other "ONE" who took her from their facility to be put down..I used to donate to them but never again..They house a large group of essentially non-adoptable dogs and there never seems to be any room at the Inn for new arrivals. They are a joke due to the boss..many of the people who work there are doing a great job despite the Heffe.
  19. We have the 3rd floor patio at our house here. It is surrounded by a low wall that is 14-16 inches and 10 or so inches across the top. Our dogs, even though they are fairly large will jump up on the ledge and walk around the perimeter as though a street. It makes me nervous as it is a long 3 stories to the sidewalk and street below. I will usually call them off without startling them..so far no falls but I can't imagine NOT having a low barrier of some type around the perimeter. Ours is low enough so that while seated we have good unobstructed views .My take is you need a low border around your patio area.
  20. We tried it back in Sept..It may have been one of the worst roads in Jalisco...All the big garbage / trash trucks use it on their way to the dump..They should use this stretch as a torture test for suspensions..Tomas
  21. There is no way immigration goes thru all the passports at Cozumel..I doubt that they even look at any or even a few..They come aboard to eat lunch and chit-chat..You are there for a day trip..You disembark wander around the bead and trinket and junk shops..maybe go into town and have lunch and a Mexican beer or 2 and then back on board..No need to stress and fret..best to keep it on the QT and not stir the pot..been there several times while we were RP's..Never an issue..
  22. Their troubleshooting and service makes us want the "old Telecable" provider back..IZZI is 2 steps below worthless. Please inform one of the previous posters that Izzi does not CURRENTLY provide the boxes required for their DIGITAL service...The mystery of what is coming from Izzi continues...
