  1. I think it’s to stop the traditional 14 stations of the cross where people go up to the shrine and back. Part of Easter tradition here.
  2. ive used Dental express for 8 years and Dra Edgard for surgery. yes he does implants. He was trained in the USA and Guad. he also has another certified dentist that does implants. currently they are booked up to the middle of January. call the office to find out cost for implant and crown combo.
  3. An alternative to snakes could be what my son found in one of the Truper stores. They look like giant windshield wipers, metal tops with soft rubber bottoms, that you screw into the bottom of the door. They are permanent and can be cut to size.
  4. Línea car rental next to Multiva Bank
  5. Try here, next to liquor store on carretera and Serdan
  6. The hardware store next to Oxxo in Ajijic carries spray cans of enamel paint, plus the undercoat rust paint. Use fine sandpaper, spray the rust proofing, spray the white enamel. I just did this and I'm a girl
  7. This is what the NE corner of Marcos Castellanos and the carreterra looks like today.
  8. Yes World Radar has a satellite Feature. You can pick and choose your locations and save them. Also shows moving cloud formations, shows all hurricanes forming in the world, zoom in and out and drag map around to see more. Shows all weather in Mexico, etc-
  9. I use the NOAA World Radar app available for iPad and iPhone. I find it quite accurate. It's free, although you can pay a few dollars for an upgrade.
  10. In upper Ajijic I got hail, thought that the skylights would break then the sky's opened up and it poured. Ten minutes in my auto garage doors started opening and closing on their own. Then stopped in a semi open position. Could not manually close them. A few minutes later they started up again. I managed to find the electric plug in the dark and yanked it out, fortunately the doors were in a closed position then. Freaky!
  11. Funny you should mention telling family back home. I was actually on the phone with my daughter in Toronto when it happened, she was more excited than me. Talk about real time news.
  12. Yes, felt it. Patio couch and coffee table swayed for 5-6 seconds, dogs barked. I'm above the carretera mid Ajijic. Have felt it before, 5 years ago too. Big waves in the pool.
  13. Here is an online interactive map of Ajijic. Scroll down to Tony Burton's Map and download. Not sure how updated it is regarding restaurants, etc. http://www.accesslakechapala.com/location/lake-chapala-mexico-map/
  14. Buzz was found late last night wandering around Superlake, a long way from home. He was taken to a local vet and picked up this morning. What a relief.
  15. (This is an old thread reopened by a newbie to report a new lost dog. In the future do NOT do this, start a new thread. The original lost dog in this thread was found and rescued.)
  16. You could try Benno Computer Solutions. They are in the south side of the carretera between Galeana and Marcos Castellanous or Walmart.
  17. Flying from MX to BC. I believe you can avoid a US stop by flying from Puerto Vallarta direct to Canada on WestJet, at least you could a month or so ago.
