  1. If you have an audio cassette player I can buy or borrow for just a day or two, kindly be in touch. Thank you.
  2. MOVING BOXES AVAILABLE: I have 15 to 20 more liquor boxes in good shape that I just used for my move. Who wants them? Available now. :) Alex
  3. We're moving locally next week. Seeking recommendations for truck w/ 2 persons.to handle very little furniture, but lots of boxes. Depending on size of the truck, it might be doable in half a day. Please share info about good experience you have had with such local folks who can do this move for us. Thank you. Alex
  4. Call and I'll come pick up your used boxes and any packing material! 333 456 2436 Thanks! Alex
  5. A friend's wife is unexpectedly in the US longer than she expected and needs her meds (which are here in Ajijic). Looking for someone leaving VERY SOON who would be willing to take this very small package, and once in the US, send it via FEDEX to where she is (Tennessee). Can you do this huge favor? Please be in touch through this website or email msalexg@gmail.com. Alex
  6. This is a shout-out to anyone involved with any of the very worthy causes we have here. If you have a Silent Auction or raffle coming up, I have something to donate to it: a one year homeowner's/renter's membership to HouseSitMexico.com (my website), which is particularly valuable for pet owners to find sitters (who sit for free). Over 200 house sits in Mexico successfully filled in our first year, recently concluded. HouseSitMexico functions like the big international house sitting websites, but serves specifically Mexico. A one year membership is normally $79US, but I'd be delighted to support worthy causes with a donation of at least one certificate per auction or raffle. You can reach me directly at Admin@HouseSitMexico.com. Alex
  7. I've been trying to contact a business called Refigeracion Camarena but their landline phone (766 3396) is out of order. Anyone have another number for them? Bottom line: I need someone who KNOWS appliances, and a Bosch stove in particular. Issue is a new set of control handles/buttons for the stove, which need to be adjusted to fit. Your basic run of the mill Mexican plumber/electrician (even good ones) won't do this time. Really want to get this done today... Thx. Alex
  8. Got a big stain on a brand new king size comforter. Am searching for a place that has a machine large enough to wash it ASAP. Leads to find one are appreciated. Alex

  10. I'd like to recommend Antonio Nuñez as an excellent overall home maintenance, renovation and construction contractor. The work he has done for us includes a complete casita renovation (including new tile flooring), a complete bathroom renovation, extensive selitre repair, lots of interior and exterior painting, and even creating and installing a wrought-iron security gate over our CFE meter. Antonio SPEAKS ENGLISH and is an extraordinarily honest, trustworthy and very nice guy. Here is his contact information: Antonio Nuñez Antonio’s Cell Phone: (333) 474-4322 Antonio’s Home Phone: 766-2057 Alex
  11. Hey - thank you for the mention! Yes, it's true that www.HouseSitMexico.com has relaunched with an all-new site. The members of this web board are cordially invited to contact me for an extra special offer if you wish to join. I appreciate the kudos! The focus of the website is very much community-oriented. While we have lots of sitters coming from outside Mexico, we're excited that nearly half of the sitters live somewhere in Mexico (and many are homeowners here too). Lots of people want to come here to Lake Chapala. We hope to see a situation where a pet owner can go for a weekend, even at the last minute, and have good pet care while they're gone.
  12. I'm looking for an art class to take part in. Rather than a "do your own thing" environment, I'm actually looking for something more structured, such as a class which moves through stages, providing real instruction, using a variety of media and techniques. I am not a "beginner", but am more of a "returner". The class could be conducted in English or Spanish (as I speak Spanish). 'Hope someone out there can help! Alex
