  1. Ibarra--I responded immediatly. That's how I know they suspended my benefits beginning immediately with February. We're exchanging emails. But they are insisting on the form being returned filled in. That what I'm doing. But of course I did not, obviously not in an eemail, get the return envelope to use. I better finish filling out this form.
  2. This morning I requested a routine form from the Social Security Admin by email. I got back an immediat response saying my benefits have been suspended because fro two years I failed to respond to a request for information. I'm assuming it's the yearly check up on my current address. I always respond to these. They included in this email a form to fill out and return within 60 says. Of course I will do it immediately. Meanwhile my benefits have been suspended starting with my February 2024 check. I'm in shock.. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? Lexy
  3. I get Wordle online in my subscription to the New York Times. Have you Googled Sudoku to see where else you might get it? Lexy

    Local sous chef

LarryA--I got confused reading your first sentense in your first post that said "at an of" . . .and wondered why you were looking for a local sous chef in particular. Then later in a another post you asked if there was a restaurant known for its excellant soups. So then I wondered were you talking about a sous chef or looking for a chef who made good soups. I thought maybe sous was a typo. Anyhow, yes, I am quite familiar with the term sous chef and I know what a sous chef does in a professional kitchen. Just fyi there's a professional chef in my family: One of the first females to graduate from the CIA--Culinary Institute of America. BTW: To me, your posts are usually very clear and well written. So I gave that post a "confused" emoji because--well, I was confused. I hope my response to you clears up all and any misunderstanding. OK? Lexy
  5. Happy holidays to you too, Ibarra. And to all others on this forum, if you're into celebrating holidays. cheers, Lexy
  6. Artsnob--it might be easiest just to surf the internet for answers to your questions. Google and the internet are your friends. Lexy
  7. Does anyone know what time Hola in Riberas opens in the morning? Lexy
  8. Yes, Ibarra, you and I did cover some of this info. Lexy
  9. MostlyLost 1. My Spanish is not fluent. I have translation app on my phone. 2 Yes, I'd want a debit card, mostly to use at ATMs (exept NOT the one at CIBanco). And also a credit card. I have an AmEx card which is not accepted everywhere, like at area hospitals. 3. I don't even know of such an app. Doesn't sound like I need it. 4. I do want a full service bank. However I learned that many banks require an American to have an address in the USA. I will check call their 800 number. Lexy
  10. I'm about to decide on opening an account with either Actinver or HSBC to recieve my monhly SS deposit. Any person preferences on which to choose? It must have easy access to parking, because of my difficulty in walking to and fro. Lexy
  11. Even better, if someone who is fluent in Spanish would make the call. Lexy
  12. Alongside Hola! Market in Riberas there are two small horses fenced in on a small scruffy plot of land. I see them whenever I go to the market. They aren't well fed, one looks emaciated. They have no shelter. They were exposed to yesterday's cold and heavy rain storm. Isn't there a local agency that could track down their owner and enforce better care for these animals? The sight of them is heartbreaking. Lexy
  13. I saw that I had a store receipt from shopping there yesterday with a phone number on it. I called and they had my wallet. I'm very relieved. They recognized my name as one of their Cosco delivery clients and were about to call me. These are the nicest people! If anyone wants to make note of their Hola! Riberas number it is: 3316950580 Lexy
  14. I found a Hola! Riberas store receipt from yesterday with a phone number. My wallet is there. If anyone wants the number on the receipt for future use, it is: 3316950580. These people are the nicest! Lexy
  15. Does anyone have a phone number for Hola! in Riberas? I might have left my wallet there yesterday, but here is no phone number in it, so they can't call me, if they have the wallet. My driver's license is in my wallet. I don't want to risk driving over there without a license. ###I edited this post. Scroll down for follow up post. Lexy
  16. Does anyone have a phone number for the new Hola! in Riberas? I need to call them. I can't find my wallet. I may have left it at Hola! yesterday, but it does not have anything with my telephne number, so they can't call me, if it's there. My driver's license is in my wallet. I don't want to risk driving there without a license. Lexy
  17. Hola! Riberas looks great, well supplied with items I usually order from Lakeside Shopping Services (owned by the same nice people). And from the Riberas store one can buy single items instead of bulk from Costco. However there are some things I still want by the case (bottled water, Kirkland green tea) and to do that at Hola! is a problem for me physically: carrying them into my house. I realize they're still in the process of working out the logistics. So I emailed to say I'd be glad to pay a delivery fee for having cases brought to my door. It's very likely there are other customers like me who want cases of stuff. It's a delight to have an Hola! market in the neighborhood. Lexy
  18. Carlos Escalera's charge for Bateria LTH L-48/91 was 3300 pesos Lexy
  19. Actually what finally happened today, Carlos Escalera replaced old battery with new one and I asked for an oil and filter change. All went well. I like Carlos and his shop.
  20. Check out online NuLeaf Naturals, Colorado, mentioned by Ferrett, for prices and descriptions of their products. Very friendly people at NuLeaf, often soundling like they're high on something. Delivery, as I recall, is free wthin the US. Getting delivery down to iShop here is expensive, but reliable. You can consult IShop for delivery costs. Lexy
  21. Why so snarky? It's a reasonable question. Lexy
  22. Update: All it needed was a battery recharge. Carlos sent his guy over and it's done. Lexy
  23. Ibarra--Thanks very much for that message. I already have an email sent to Carlos/Escalera. Since he is closer to me than Ron, I'll see what he has to say about my problem. (I limit my driving distance these days, when possible.) I recall that my husband and I met with Ron years ago as the VW expert--and with my bad memory I can't remember why we didn't stay with him. But I don't recall a problem.
