  3. Does anyone have the phone number for Dr. George at their new location on the carretera? Thanks in advance.
  4. We have used the bank app for depositing cheques to our Canadian bank account. It works very well and we get immediate credit. Why would you want an anonymizer?
  5. The store in Riberas Is run by Oscar Ibarra Mendoza. It used to be called Furniture for Less (maybe still is). It is on the south side of the carretera in San Antonio, by Sunrise restaurant. Phone 766-4972. He carries quality furniture - we have bought several items from him including Palliser from Canada. He will accept special orders.
  6. Hi did you sell the iPhone yet?

  7. Some airlines will not give you a boarding pass until you have had your FMM (Forma Migratoria Multiple) filled in and stamped by immigration. Happened to us twice, so now we always deal with that first before going to the airline check-in counter. And yes, you can always get a coffee or something once you are through security etc.
  8. I agree. We have flown out of Guadalajara dozens of times and it has never taken less than a hour plus from the time we get to the airport until we are through getting the immigration card stamped at the Immigration window by the international arrivals door (last time there was a line up), checking in and going through security, before we got to the gate. And some airlines may refuse to check you in if you are not there 2 hours before departure; this has happened to friends. So it is better to be safe than sorry!

  12. Yes I also received one and I realized it was a scam. See the CRA website re these types of messages http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/scrty/frdprvntn/menu-eng.html
  13. Both the Bancomer and the Banamex machines at Walmart were out of cash at the weekend. So was CI Banco in Plaza Laguna Centro. Banamex and Bancomer working today. Scotia machine by Hernandez Real Estate still not up and running.

  18. Also the iStore on the second floor of Plaza Galerias. You could also check with the "Geek Squad" desk in Best Buy in Plaza Galerias. There are no Apple stores as such in Mexico (there are plans to establish some) but the names mentioned here and by others are all authorized Apple resellers and repair depots and should be reliable.
  19. Not been our experience nor that of several neighbours who have the SOSE system installed. In any event, I was not suggesting that the OP install the SOSE system, just that Danny with SOSE says they can help repair or install the system that Myron sold. That doesn't involve any monitoring or ongoing service. That said, I do not know of anyone who has used Danny to do this but am just passing on what he told me.
  20. Danny at SOSE says they will install and/or repair the type of alarms that Myron Mortimer sold. His cell is 331-041-4247. Email dannysose@gmail.com
  21. This from the American Diabetes Association website: Am I allowed to bring my diabetes supplies with me on the plane? Yes. TSA specifically states that diabetes-related supplies, equipment and medications, including liquids, are allowed through the checkpoint once they have been properly screened by X-ray or hand inspection. Passengers should declare these items and separate them from other belongings before screening begins. - See more at: http://www.diabetes.org/living-with-diabetes/know-your-rights/discrimination/public-accommodations/air-travel-and-diabetes/what-can-i-bring-with-me.html?referrer=https://www.google.com.mx/#sthash.otOrPChV.dpuf
  22. According to the card I was given at Telcel, here is how you dial a Mexico number from the US or Canada. Spanish first and then my Google Translate to English Como llama a Mexico estando en el extranjero Para marca a Mexico desde cualquier parte del mundo +52-codigo de area y numero . celular +521 y 10 digitos How to call Mexico While abroad To dial Mexico from anywhere in the world 52-+ area code and number. Cell phone +521 10 digits
  23. I went to the main Telcel office in Plaza Laguna the other day and was told that any calls I make using my cell phone with a Telcel SIM card while in the US or Canada will be free. In other words, it is the same as if I were calling the US or Canada from Mexico - free.
  24. Well...see Spencer's comment above. I would accept his advice as he is a lawyer and therefore knows the rules. And I know of people with a foreign plated vehicle who have been stopped by the traffic police in Guadalajara and questioned as to why they do not have the sticker. So while Spencer says "technically" I am not sure I would want to debate this with a traffic cop if stopped for some other apparent infraction.
  25. We also will be looking for a house/dog sitter late September to mid October. Please PM me if you know of anyone.
