  4. I'm referring to their new location. The white gates are always closed.
  5. I've been by Toscanos Pizza several times and they seem to be closed. Is my timing off or are they out of business?
  6. Friends are visiting and wanting to spend at least a month here next winter. Anyone know of a one (maybe more) month rental in Ajijic?
  7. Thank you to all. We did use the water truck to half fill. In the afternoon the water began flowing at it's usual rate and we are now full. Original problem was due to having the aljibe completely drained for repair and the alternate days of pumping.
  8. We're in La Floresta and they haven't pumped water since Tuesday and the gardener decided to extensively water on Wednesday ...... not the best combination.
  9. Our aljibe is just about empty and I would like to find someone who will bring a truck load of water. Any suggestions as to who does this?
  10. Fourth Annual Fiber Art Show to be held Saturday, January 21st from 10-4. In a new location in La Floresta - Paseo de los Veleros #73. Traditional Quilts, Fiber Art, Designer Clothing, Fabric Vendor. Come see what we are doing!

  12. I got one at Walmart several years ago. Or try the Dollar Store.
  13. We rent in a safe and comfortable mixed neighborhood for $800 USD. Two of us live quite nicely with no car using bus and feet and have a quiet lifestyle on $2500 a month which includes health insurance, utilities, food (eating out several times a week) and everything else we need/want. I know of some who live much cheaper and are very happy with their arrangements and many who live way more expensively. As has been said above, it all depends on you. If one keeps the expectations low and the acceptance high, it works out!
  14. Where is the Seguro Popular clinic in Ajijic?
  15. Fox does not serve the SE US. Any other suggestions?
  16. Icscats - What do you mean by checking out Fox?
  17. Looking for some guidance in renting a car in the US with a Mexican license and no car insurance. Is it possible? Any idea of the approximate costs?
  18. I ride all over. As suegarn says, the prices can vary. Only real gouging I've had to deal with is trying to take the Guad bus for a local ride. That could very well be on me, so I just don't use it at all any more. Easy way to deal with this is just hand the drive a ten peso coin and tell him where you are going.
  19. I have friends coming for the month of February and they would like to rent a small apartment or casita in Ajijic. One bed one bath is okay. Anyone know of anything available?
  20. "Don't let them. It's illegal" Wow. I am so sorry you feel this way, it must be stressful for you.
  21. I always use Abraham Dorado (045-3314-806-028) who uses an established, local crew all of whom are honest and polite. The work has been great each time.
